Im going thru a bike i recently picked up, and the insulation on the pickup coil wires is missing. the wires are not melted at all. is this needed, or is it ok to put it together without? i dont want to sell someone a bike and have it break down from something stupid like this.

my 97 does this a little, if you rock it in gear a little before starting, it wont happen.

the pickup looks just like the moose ones i have. the rest of the stator looks different, but im done being a guinea pig. i can change stators like im in fucking nascar now, but i dont like doing it.

ill bet moose did the same shit ricky stator did, and switch to bs chinese ones. yours is probably a good one from before they switched to the china crap. ill stay oem, the last thing i want to be worrying about is if my stator is gonna die when im like 50 miles from the truck, or dipping on some faggot ass cops

im gonna just run 35w bulbs for this trip, and return the moose garbage. when i get back, ill do the DC conversion and go LEDs, it seems like the best option. the upgraded regulators seem to be working fine, ill just leave em in.

i can still run the typanium voltage regulators i got from ricky stator, or should i put the stock regulators back in?

i have no idea, but i learned my lesson, im only running a stock stator, or a rewind if i ever find someone good to do it. the moose ones i got look just like ricky stator ones. even says made in china on the box. probably from the exact same sweatshop lol.

now i can confirm moose stators are garbage, i bought 2 of them. one, the bike has no spark. the other it misses and runs like shit at mid to high rpms. both ran perfectly with stock stators. install is perfect, i have installed a ton of stators, and never once had a problem. so yes moose stators are junk.

I have the 50w solux 4700k bulbs, I'm hoping the color is decent, I haven't tried them yet, tomorrow the stator is supposed to come in. They do look blue when there off which I don't really like.

i hooked it up the way you suggested, this way if someone else drives my banshee, and clicks the lights, they wont crash, since they are on for high and low.
