so i was checking out my new bike today, it has k&n filters with the prefilters over them, and no airbox. should the filters be in an airbox, or is this setup fine? bike is stock except this and FMF silencers, at least this is all i have found so far.

mine has a new york cert of origin title thing, and has never been registered. im going to bring those dumb hoes at the dmv the mso, reg form frame scratch and bill of sale. that should do it i think.

i have another quick question, i did search and didnt find anything. my bike has no ignition on it currently, and i want to add an oem one so the bike will have a key. i saw one on ebay for $50, is it a big deal to install? where is it usually mounted?

i was reading a post on here about someone from ny who registerd their banshee, and then once you do this you dont recive a title, just a transferable registration. the post was from 2004 tho, so i wanted to see if this was still the case.

i have a title now, the origin one, but if i turn it in to reg it then all i get is a reg right. do i really need to reg this bad boy?

so i bought my 97 banshee, it has a yamaha certificate of origin from a dealer in freeport ny, which was signed to the owner i bought it from. i was planning on filling out the mv-82ton application to transfer the title to my name. however now i have been reading on here, and it seems that if i give in the cert of origin to the dmv, i cannot get another title, and they will only give me a registration, but no title. sounds like i am better off to just keep this cert of reg, which is signed over to me. is this still the case, or can i actually get a new title with my name on it. right now it seems better to just keep this title and F the dmv. any advice?

yea for new york all i can find is autocheck, and i guess they dont check atvs anymore

i want to get a vin checked, i searched and couldnt find a site to do it on, is anyone still able to do it?

yea i guess the front pipes are just chromed and the silencers are fmf. where can i get the owners manual and parts sheet from? i am pretty sure the starting prob is the low compression, im going to bring it to this place in the bronx to have them check it out. my friend has a blaster that has the exact same problem, so we both need to get our quads fixed now. thx for the help! just ordered the clymers. the guy i got it from just changed the pistons, but i doubt he changed the rings, so thats prob whats causing it.

well i have the title and all the forms to switch the title to my name. im going to bring the bike to this place 4 aces in the bx to check it out. i dont even know whats done to it, i know it has a FMF fat pipe, and i think different carbs. lol is this was a mustang i would be all set, but im new to the banshee thing. im sure within a few weeks ill be up to speed. btw, which is the safest brand helmet to buy?

yea the kickstart will turn the motor over easily, but its just wont start it when its cold. what about the title thing?

today i bought a 97 banshee, its gone some aftermarket pipes on it, and runs great. the kickstart is not happening, i probably need to get that fixed. im from manhattan, i bought it from a guy in brooklyn. paid 1800, its got some stuff done to it, i know the engine was rebuilt. anyways, i got the title, and it only has the first owners info on it. should i even bother to swap titles, im going to be using it upstate ny mostly. i didnt get a bill of sale, but i did get the title. the plastics are missing most of the screws also. im going to bring it to yamaha and get it fixed up, but my main concern is the title thing. here are pix
