  1. Alpine stars for me. Little diff to get used to shifting with a boot. But u learn to shift with your thigh. Lifting your whole leg instead of just rocking ur ankle. I like the no movement, the stiffer the boot, the better the protection (unless u can fork out $ for sidis). I also keep my heel guards on, but I like to ride hard and fast, not a drag racer. More air the better...
  2. Depends on what you are wanting to do with it? Drag race- go for gsxr. Trail ride and rip around camping- keep warrior motor. I had an 87 I wish I kept, fun to thump around everywhere, not fast... But fun to ride.
  3. Not scary, as long as its just a lobe and not a hard to get to spot I'm sure I can weld her right up. I like to put Jb weld over top of it too if looking smooth is important, that shit will cover anything..
  4. I'll do it. Just picked up a welder... Haven't welded in over 10 yrs. But I'm sure I can still do it.. plus looks don't matter as its just inside the motor, no one will see.
  5. I just put oil in the gas... No need for anything else. Seriously, I run klots flexdrive in the tranny.. and I only change it once a year or so. Haven't even changed it this year as it only got rode once last year.
  6. Ya, new site sux! Nice dig up..
  7. I got mine at rocky mtn atv, with a 20% off code, on a free shipping week. I don't think it was even $20..
  8. Ya, its not baked off this go around. Got about 10 rides on em. But it did get tacky the first ride. And this last time, I spilled gas on one and then sand stuck to it...
  9. I'll give it some thought.. thanks!
  10. Won't the tape keep the moisture in and rust worse?
  11. I run my stockers when I hit the mountains. Cut em so they are close, and use high heat silicon hose to connect, but I'm gonna weld up some new pipe to make it fit perfect? They don't change anything but sound that I've noticed. Maybe after I get my perfect fit. I'll sell the cpi ones??
  12. Thanks man, ill try to strip em, pre heat and paint again, then run a couple heat cycles.. Hope it works. Thanks again!
  13. Well this last time I painted them, it didn't cook off, but gets tacky the first few rides and sand sticks to them. What to use for stripping?
  14. Ya, that's what this is. Says good for 1200 degrees. Think if I repaint, ill try heating up with my new heat gun, then lay paint... Might help? I'll see how bad I scratch em getting old paint off.
  15. Maybe ill try to polish the stinger tubes first, then just repaint if it sucks... Will the high temp powder get tacky and let sand stick to it or rub off where my boots rub when pipes get hot?
  16. Thanks.. but everyone has Chrome tho. I'm trying to stay as little bling as possible without blacking it out (which seems to be popular too). I like how the pipes look bare, just wondering if its a lot of work to keep em from rotting away. Can u polish steel like aluminum?
  17. So I have my cpi inframes high heat black. Problem is, it comes off first 6 or so inches and the rest always gets sand stuck to it when it gets hot and tacky. So, I'm thinking of stripping them and leaving raw. Anyone do this, and what kinda maintenance is required? Just wipe down with wd40 after each ride trip?
  18. Good idea. Roping someone would be fun...
  19. Ya, think ill ditch it.
  20. Ya, that's what I'm thinking. If they are there to get it, its gone. Even the cable lock can be gotten around. I'm just trying to prevent the opportunistic thieves. Can't decide... Nice if u run to bathrooms.. slows someone from jumping on and running off?? Idk. Thanks for the input.
  21. Ok guys, so I'm looking for opinions on the key switch. Bikes mostly stock, and I like it for now. Just bored and wanting to clean up? I know how to remove, and about the hide a key under seat.. but if someone wanted it, they know the hide a key location all banshees have under seat. Easy to POP and jot wire. So in reality, does keeping the key make sense? Should I try to hide it somewhere obscure and just remove at night when camping? I heavy duty cable me and my wires bikes together at night. And lock seats in truck (lot of seat thefts lately) thinking about drilling home in latch and putting lock on it, but again, just plastic and could rip off with force.. What's ur thoughts, and routines for securing while camping?
  22. I had to trim for my cpis just a little, I just half mooned it to give quarter of an inch between pipe and fender. Looks good.
  23. Can u drive your shee on the road? Around here, if someone complains about noise a few times, they can issue you a ticket. Whether its band practice, dogs, reving up bike...
  24. Ball joints for sure. Not sure you can change em without modding the arm? Good excuse for extended arms.
