  1. Maybe if you post a pic of the part you found we can identify it and go from there. The tranny is pretty simple to split because the halves lift off one another, and then all the gears and stuff will stay in the bottom half. My 1st guess would be the shift shaft centering pin, does it have a slot for a straight blade screwdriver in one end of it?

    what gear

In sand I always start in 2nd, sometimes 3rd if it will pull it.
  3. I've had one on for a couple of years, works great, but I ride mostly dunes
  4. I still have the original gasket on mine, and it's a 1988! I used some Mr. Gasket to hold the gasket to the clutch cover 1st time I removed it, now it stays put and still doesn't leak. It's been off many times too.
  5. I am interested in one also, if I can't find one I'll do the front a-arm conversion to mine. I am in Bartlesville OK.
  6. Fortunately we had another friend coming over Friday morning, we had him bring over my buddys wife's banshee. Just pulled the motor down this evening so he hasn't contacted Vitos yet. Crank only has about 4 dune trips on it! Yea, I have already talked to JD Performance about the D arm. They said they would replace it, but I talked them into swapping the D's for top A-arms and I'm going to do the conversion. Mosquitos were killer as soon as the sun started going down too! Way too much standing water over there.
  7. Went to Waynoka to the dunes last Thursday the 14th for the weekend and the 1st ride twenty minutes out my buddy breaks his new Vitos crank! Broke right off at the end of the taper with the crank bearing, seal and flywheel attached. Never seen that happen before. I get home Sunday and my right side top D arm is cracked halfway around, kinda glad I didn't go for one last night ride! Other than the unusual breakdowns we had a great time, and rode with HoleshotKid his fam, and Super88_Banshee.
  8. Take the swingarm pivot bolt loose, remove, and lower the front of the swingarm. You need to remove the old metal ring that the stock roller rides on too. Then slide the Cascade slider on with the metal pin resting on or slightly above the top of the swingarm, then the cap with the seal on it goes on the end of the swingarm like before. Put the pivot bolt back in and tighten. If I remember correctly that's it, if the swingarm won't come down far enough you may have to loosen the shock linkage and remove the bolt.
  9. I made a spring compressor after seeing one at a shop. The Works shocks come apart pretty easy, just compress and slide out the plate at the bottom.
  10. I bought a RIO Forge wma/mp3 player for $80 and so far it works great for running, mowing, etc. No hard drive in it so there is no chance of it skipping too. But the down side is without a HD it doesn't hold near as much music. It can hold about 15 complete CD's of WMA's though, and I can add a SD card for more capacity. I guess it just depends on if you want a small, light player, or a player to fit your complete music collection on.
  11. I have had DirectTV for several years, and I only lose service when there is a Total gullywasher! It hasn't happened very many times and the signal comes back as soon as the worst part of the storm blows over. I can honestly say that I used to lose my cable way more, and for a lot longer periods than the satellite signal.
  12. I think the Keihins are better, that's what everyone I ride with has unless they still have stock.
  13. So far just 3 Banshees in our group.............
  14. Well, it looks like we'll be riding together again! I'm coming over the afternoon of the 14th with a couple of friends. No wives or kids this trip. Where are you guys going to camp? I'm getting sand fever.............
  15. I'm sure you can have a cable made for any custom application. Never heard of a thumb throttle on a bike though.
  16. Basically they fine tune your pilot jet.
  17. I run a milled head on mine, no overheating in 17 years. If you have the $$ the aftermarket heads are nice, otherwise a milled head works almost as good if you don't plan on changing domes.
  18. No rejetting if all you do is remove the snorkel, it is jetted a little rich from the factory anyway. Man, someone should look into what it would cost to ship him a set of pipes........
  19. 1st thing any banshee owner should do, take the snorkel off the front of the airbox!
  20. I've never heard of it, I always use an impact to remove mine.
  21. I'm thinking about getting rid of my 750sx Jetski (standup).
  22. So what is included on the chassis? I might be up for a road trip.............
