28mm pwk jetting 4 a ported 4mill
qboronyrican replied to qboronyrican's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
i asked him about using those same needle's and he said "Don't do it. Run CEL, CEJ or CEG only. If you don't run these your motor will never produce its power potential." -

what terrain you running in? lot of open trail, some tight and some dunes and coal mine hills -
just got my motor back and need some help on where to start with the jetting......my mods are: 4mill long rod, aggressive trail/dune port, t-5 pipes, v-force 3 reeds, cool head running 50/50 race/pump gas, timming advanced 4-6 degress, air box open in trail but closed in dunes and coal mines.....and dont know where to start with these 28mm pwk's........running in temps between 50-85 degress(right now 70-85) @ sea level....someone please help me out here....i need to know what needle to use, what clip, main jet and pilot jet to start with.....someone i talked to said a cej needle(dont know what clip) 50 pilot and 155 main....does this seem right ???????

13/44 or 13/45 hummmmmmm shouldn't i be going up in the front....... wait.........whats stock again? and whats that site with different gearing and tire sizes
-
so stick with the stock gearing for the best results and traction?????? even with the 21 tires on the rear????
-
what sprocket setup should i go with now that im upgrading to a ported 4 mill long rod with cool head, t5 piprs, v force 3, 28mm carbs, open air box, running 50/50 race/pump , ridding alot of trails, some open, some hill/dunes?????? ohh and stock swinger with 21 tires in the rear.....looking for some ideas on sizes to use to get the best results all around
-
so what do you guys out there think is the problem....is it the jetting????
-
yea im at 280's now ....didnt think the v3's would be that big of a difference from the boysen rad valve(jetting wise i mean)....ohh and no porting ...not yet
-
ohh yea if someone has an idea were i need to be with the jets my mods are....t5 pipes, cool head w/20cc domes, dynatek ign on #3 setting, k&n filter(with lid and snokel on, only cause its 45 degress out), v-force3's, 200watt stator, stock carbs torrs removed, and im at sea level and like i said ridding this weekend in 45 degree weather
-
i just added a boss intake, replaced my old rad valves with v-force 3's and added reed stuffers...do i have to re jet my carbs cause for some reason i cant get the thing to idle now and all the settings(jets, air screws, idle screws)are still all the same and it was fine brefore i started this
-
somebody please help me so i can fix this thing for him....some feedback please!!!!
-
my friend has a lt250r and i put a ptr pipe and fatboy silencer on for him and started to re jet it...(he has no clue whaen it come to working on the thing)......at first i put a 290 main and it seemed to run good but the plug looked alittle light colored so i figured it was lean so then i jumped up to a 310 and at wot 1-3 it seemes to be breakin up up top untill wot in 4th then seems to clean out so i fgured it was rich but by looking at the plug it lookes really lean still.........is opening it up 1-4 wot and then killling it and stopping one time enough to get a good reading?????.....temp is about 42-50 degress and im at sea level and he's also 300lbs. if that maters and he's running the entire bike stock except for the pipe and silencer...air box and lid and all......please help!!! am i doing the WOT plug test wrong????
-
ok....i figured it needed a load to do corectly but wasent sure.....well my mods are as follows....t5 pipes, v force3 reeds, boss billit intake, 28mm pwk's, stock air box w/ k&n filter and no lid, cool head w/20 cc domes, dyna ign. set @#3, runninig 50/50 race/pump gas at sea level @ around 50 degress....so what do you think?
-
i dont have any where i can go and open the shee up wot to dial in my jets without getting caught by the police or property owners....not close by at least and dont have access to a dyno so i was wondering if i lifted the rear end and supportrd it real well or straped it down on a lift and raised it in the air could/would it work?....going through the gears wot in the air like that, would it damage/hurt something on the shee????
-
whats the normal coolant operating temp for the shee.....looking at different clear hoses and need to know what temp rating they should be....also preasure rating....found one rated at 5500psi and max temp of 175 degress F...is this enough?? probably not for a trail rider i would think
-
i think if you search manual on here there is a downloadable manual on one of these sticky's

what do the following improve
qboronyrican replied to qboronyrican's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
so is the 4mill is a good idea to do since i do alot of trail ridding??? what about a big bore kit and how big is too big and/or unreliable for open trails and mx track?? -
what do you get out of the following....low end or high end or both but favors more towards which? 1. 4mill stroker 2. port job 3. advanced timing 4. higher compression 5. bigger carbs 6. case porting 7. flywheel lightening 8. straight cut gears 9. clutch lock out 10. big bore kit think thats it for now........thanks for the help.....searching for all this is so time comsuming and tiring ad still no solid answers
-
take off the stator cover, then using a puller pull off the flywheel, then lossen the bolt that hold the adjustable stator plate and set it to what you want....tighten the bolts replace the flywheel and the cover and your done.....hope i didnt forget anything
-
im looking for some expert advice/opinions here........if you were to build the baddest trail(75 %) and track(25 %) shee, what would you do ....motor wise and suspension wise....just everything?? ....and if you could give some reasoning about what you would do for the few of us that don't know what certain thing add/do to or for performance.....thanks in advance....hope to have some great responces

Compression Seems Way Too High
qboronyrican replied to tgbanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
according to the charts ive see....with 21cc domes you should be around 157 but maybe a little more cause of the stroker crank....i have 20cc domes at the same elevation and if i remember corectly i think i was high 160's when i checked it last and thats about right and i run 50/50
