  1. I did it...and I like 'em a lot! Look >HERE<. You lose 1 1/2" in height and gain 5" in width and gain 1" in wheel base. With a rear shock re spring and re valve, I have a little over $700 in the whole suspension upgrade. Worth every penny to me. Before the upgrade I had to get up on the gas tank to get a launch when sand dragging. Now I have to slide back to a more normal riding position to get it to hook. I believe that losing that 1 1/2" height in the front helped it to hook a little better. and with the rear shock re spring and re valve, it squats a little better in a ballistic launch. If you are a serious racer, there are better options. However, for the average trail/dune rider it is a very nice upgrade.
  2. I had mine revalved and resprung...I am very pleased...so far... I weigh 255, it made a world of difference...
  3. We been talking about going to Rocky Ridge....
  4. Not tryin' to be a smartass, but you did rejet for the pipes?
  5. If it has been sitting for awhile I'm betting your carbs are gummed up. Pull them off, take them completely apart and give them a good cleaning. Get some good carb cleaner and blow out all the orifices. If they are very bad you may have to take them to a shop and vat them overnight.
  6. I like mine! The swap requires some minor mods to the 450 arms. Check >HERE< and >HERE<.
  7. Well, I am convinced... I will update with more pics when I get the spindles and hubs installed... Ummm, I'm gonna have to widen the rear about an inch on each side, does anyone have suggestions on the best way to do that?
  8. I ran the suspension top to bottom without the shocks and it will go further than the shocks will let it. Way further up and a couple inches down. I don't think it will max out the ball joints as long as the shocks are in place? If I run 450 spindles will Shee hubs and calipers fit? Or, do I have to swap it all out?
  9. I like it a LOT!! It is SMOOOOOTH! Yea, the stockers work. Although I have been kinda looking around at some 450 spindles and brakes. I went and rode yesterday with 450 and did a close comparison with the set up. 2 things noticed: 1. On the 450, the upper a arm mounts are set about 2" back compared to the Shee. The stock spindles are pretty much straight up (90* to the ground) when used with the 450 arms. I am a little afraid that the upper a arms being set forward on the Shee would cause the 450 spindles to be raked forward at the top. That would mean massive bump steer. I would like to see a Shee converted with 450 spindles. I could be way off. 2. The front is wiiiiiiiiide! Be careful. About 4" wider than stock rear, soooo....... Looks like I will be modding the rear shortly. (Oh, will it never end?) Do it, you will like it! PS...It is SMOOOOOTH! I forgot...if you do this, get the Noss tie rods.
  10. I know there have been some questions about these kits. I thought I would post some pics and maybe answer some them. I also want to say that this is a first class kit from a first class guy. This is what I got Before After Before After Before After Before After So far I like it ALOT! The fit was perfect and the ride is nite & day different from stock. And I think it looks pretty good, too. Cost: $315.00 for Brian's A-arm kit shipped (with Noss tie rods). $270.00 for YFZ 450 shocks shipped (I got some nice ones off a 2005 model off eBay). $585.00 Total. I am happy. I was looking at spending close to a grand for after market shocks and arms. I did find some arms on eBay that would work with 450 shocks that could have been had for $350.
  11. I shortened mine with >THIS<. It allows you to take out one link.
  12. I went to check it out and it told me I had been banned! I have never been there before! What is up with that?
  13. Hmmm...if it runs better with the choke on it is already lean. Are you sure your air filter is secure in the box and getting a good seal? Is the air filter clean? Have you done a plug chop? What is it doing that makes you think it is rich? If it is box stock I would think that 200 or 210 mains with a 25 pilot would get you started. If it hesitates when you mash the gas raise the needle a notch. If it blubbers (technical term) when you mash the gas lower it a notch. If your machine is completely stock I doubt seriously that the jetting is off. If it is not running right I would think your problem is elsewhere.
  14. I got a set from my local Cycle Gear (Ft Worth, Tx). Did not know the difference as it was my first paddles. I just bought what they had. Went to Kermit on my first ride and I wasn't really impressed. They didn't seem to hook as well as the straights or Sand Sharks some of the people I was riding with had. Went back home and made some improvements to my scooter. Pipes, pods, timing advance, gears, etc. Made a trip to LS OK Mem weekend and it seemed like a different bike. At the drags by the south camp I was launching in second and carrying the front wheels till I shifted gears. I was running with some very nice machines through the first couple gears. Generally I would have to say I like mine. Maybe it has something to do with wheel speed? High speed blasting across the sand will give up a steady 25' high roost.
  15. >>THIS ONE<< has some good info for free. Thanks to BansheeDan!
  16. I get kits from my local Yammy dealer. I can do both carbs for about $25. Done every season to prevent probs before they happen.
  17. Headin' out early in the AM...see y'all there!
  18. Got them pipes on...WOW! :yelrotflmao: Got some jets and a RS backing plate should be here Tues. so I can advance the timing, I can tell...it's gonna be SCARY!
  19. I finally got the STUFF! The box looks like it has been through a war but all is well. I am happy. The pipes are nice. I was gonna have'em refinished but I think they are nice enough I will just run as is for a while. The axle is from a different year and has a 4 bolt sprocket where mine has 6. It has the small carrier where mine is twice as big. I am sure the axle will fit in my carrier though. I will have to tear it down and see about the bearings and hubs and stuff. It will bolt up to my swing arm as is. If push comes to shove, I will just swap the whole thing out to get through our upcoming trip to LS, OK. As I said, I am happy! Except for a hitch with UPS, this deal went very well. I would recommend alisn4x4 as a reputable seller!
  20. You can run the stock stator but you will have to run a rectifier of some sort as the stock setup output is AC current and you will have to convert to DC to run a battery. Take a look >HERE<. This procedure will work with a stock stator.
  21. Hi y'all, There are about a dozen of us going from just west of Ft. Worth. Going up Friday evening (25th) and coming back the next Wednesday. Far as I know, I am the only Banshee rider in the group. Part of us will be in RVs and a few are staying in town. I have never been there. Is there anything we need to know? I read somewhere that there will be drag races that weekend. Are they any good? We go to Monahans some, how does LS compare?
  22. Check >>THIS<< out...
  23. I am interested in the axles and the Fatties, please...pm?
