Cool review JD. I'm prob gonna help a local guy put together a stock motor in a month or so. I'm hoping he'll get some kind of pipes then maybe we could do a swap with my snipers and see if there's a difference. I've got a bunch of pics in my build thread that show all the clearances if anybody wants to see.
What are you runnin for an air box? Stock carb needles? Stock carbs? I would think your mains would be way richer like he said. Maybe you have other issues. Those your only mods?
Damn I thought you guys said you didn't suck? I ain't drivin 9 hrs to hang out with a bunch of helmet throwers. I'll drive the 23 and hang with the drunks in okie. Haha
Well it's quite a bit closer than Oklahoma. Prob be fun. There noise restrictions there? Is it dry camping or there showers and stuff? Oh and most important, u guys don't suck do ya? And do you guys all have your teeth? Those Okies get a lil sketchy down there.
Best thing you can do now-- Buy a clean frame with a vin and title, swap everything over and get rid of the frame with the ground off vin where nobody can ever trace it back to you.
Do this. You can buy frames with good titles all day long for $2-300. If you are supposedly all legal now I wouldn't think there would be anything illegal with just buying another frame. Scrap the one u have now. Then put the new one in your name. Then if there is some shifty crap goin on they can pound sand after they run your new vin.
If u get bare aluminum rims like what loco posted up you can make them as shiny as u want with some Mothers and lil elbow grease. If they're new you can make them look like a mirror pretty easy. There are some companies that are selling the cast wheels like what's on my 450 that are chrome. There's a few different styles of those out. Can't get much shinyer than that. I think I paid 250 shipped on fleabay for these cast wheels.
Ya you'll prob like the way it runs with those cpis on it. Other than they look like chrome milk jugs hangin on your bike, they're pretty good. Make sure and space em out so they don't rub on the head and crack. That's pretty common.
I'll have to go through my stash and see if I have anything worth a crap to trade.
What I always do is run around when I get somewhere. Then see how it does. Make changes till it runs the best and the plugs look good. I came from Illinois few months back to Boise. Was thinkin I would be dropping my jetting on everything. Took my kids blaster out for a couple rides now and it runs and looks great. I did the deal in Illinois where I jetted till it started gagging then came down a size or two till it cleaned up. That's a nice safe way to do it if your gonna be play riding and not needing every last hp.
Those 165s sound big to me too. My 421 drag ported cub has 39s and runs right around there. It's prob a lil more efficient than your is though. That makes a difference.
Have fun over there. I have yet to make the trip over since I moved here. Went a few years ago and had a blast though. Big ass hills and lots of em.
You will definitely gain some top end goin go shearers or any other drag style pipe. It would be fun to ride but different. You'll lose a bunch of low end. May not be a big deal, depending how aggressive you ride. I did it goin from PCs to Vitos and it was a big difference. I might be interested in those fmfs if you part with em. Maybe have some stuff to trade or cash. Depends what you want for them.
I've seen those before but keep forgetting about them. That would even be cool on a bike for 2 wheel challenged folks like myself. Might be cool for drag racing my banshee too. Pullin 2 39s with a thumb sucks.
I used to subscribe to all of em, but was reading the same crap over and over. So I just decided to keep dirtwheels. I checked into advertising in there quite a few years ago and it was damn expensive then. Good exposure though.
That's cool. That's pretty much what I've heard about the place. I'm gonna try and hit maybe Pleasant Valley or maybe play up n the mts past 8th street next weekend. See how it goes.
So what kind of motor you gonna build? if i had it to do over again I probably wouldn't waste my time doin a stroker until I was ready for a serious cylinder. I think I'd max out stockers on a stock stroke before I bought a crank. Unless I needed a crank anyway. I had a 4 mill that ran good and got a good deal on it, but you can make a stock stroke run pretty good anymore and not have to replace the crank. Just my thoughts. Not sure why I put it out there. Haha.
