  5. okay guys you got me thinkin now, i will definatly take fabrication because it invovles painting but i dont know how much i would make working in calgary as a powdercoater for cars its a city with over 1 million people though my uncle is a welder , he teaches welding now sometimes but works for a huge shop and one of there machines alone is worth 36 million and there are like 12 machines pretty crazy, he told me that and average welder there makes 16 an hour okay i think i could do better with paint right hmm i am really confused now so i will be taking metal fab and maybe auto tech for the hell of it but what could i take in college or university that will make me good money and will still like to work on my shee and cars after years of doing it , powder coating , what should i be looking at doing? thanks guys btw on a side note my grandma took her car into shop because the head gasket blew and it cost 1200 to fix it , i think that is stupid , is it? lol because we all now how some dealerships make there money
  6. hmm sounds like it will be a slow starting career but i think i am up to it i am not a big fan of sitting in a desk just from being at school so i would like to be able to do something were i can move around some and maybe lead into some of my own designing or a performance shop that does porting and boring and stuff , stuff thats interesting to learn about and you can have fun and make it your own (to an extent that is) and the money factor i am going to wait a while to get married so no worry about a wife robber :: yet. i want to be able to suport my family when i have one leaving money somewhat out of praspective oh and enough to suport my shee :woot: so i was looking in the schools book of options and found out there is a higher class of mechanics and fab work kinda like higher classes of math i will be taking the auto technology 10-1 which is like engine reconditioning and tuning etc and getting into higher levels of business and the other class metal tech 10-1 which is more advanced then just learning how to weld, you even have the possibility to sell your product as a project which is pretty cool, oh and this also teaches how to high velocity spray paint which i dont know what it is but sounds cool (probably just paint for cars) and that leaves my third one to anything else i desire not to mention the auto tech is worth double the credits as the normal options thanks a bunch guys i really really appreciate it
  7. yes that makes sence thanks for the info there isnt any big names down here in calgary , no IHRA and stuff so i dont want to work on peoples junk cars all day if you know what i mean i could take 2 fabricating classes in this school metal tech and metal fabrication and another of my choice does that sound good i still might take auto mechanics for fun
  8. alright so im going into grade 10 and i am gettin transfered to another school because my designated one is shit i am looking for something to help me out in auot mechanics and maybe go beyond high school with the subject i would like to be almost like pit crew mechanic but we dont have much big name racers here in calgary that i know of so i wouldnt mind working at a dealership as long as the pay is good alright so for the usual subjects like math, science, social and language arts i am in all top classes i dont know how they work in the US but here most are called pure 10 classes anyways the options i am looking at taking are auto technology , for grade 10 it goes through the basics of electronic controls and how everything works in a way and gets more advanced in 11 and 12 and in 12 you do engine reconditioning and tune ups etc metal technology, which introduces welding and polishing and making things (they give certain projects) and it gets more advanced through out the other years auto mechanics, basicly focuses on the for stroke engine and is more hands on then auto tech up top ^ start at like oil changes and stuff and move up to engine tune ups fuel systems drive trains steering suspension etc please thanks for any help

  10. my shee has t-5s and filter his 03 has fmf pipe both wiegh the same i have no cue how well he rides i told him i wont race him on gravel cuase i told him he ould win it will be a rollin start in 2nd whats the best way to speed shift should i go clutchless and let off the gas or clutch it and hold the gas it will be on road so i figure holding the gaswill cause the front to come up when i shift other wise its just a race no bragging rights or anything were prety tight but i think ill be able to squise past him

  12. honeslty change the freakin grill its useless unless you in the winter so much problem there check for an air leak if it isnt jetting then thats your problem (check compression, plugs, air leak) no mattter what you say, unless you do a proper plug chopand show us, then you are lean my stock bike in 100 degree weather with no air flow revving the crap out of 1st gear with 6ply mud tires on through a swamp for about 30 mins none stopfull throttle is the only time it over heated wacko you should change the water pump cover gasket and clutch cover gasket 15$ of gaskets

  14. well i am going to be trail riding and dont d much for jumps and with raptor rims on the back it makes the bck end +4 over stock making it look ugly and cause the outside front suspension to mush on a turn while breaking so i need to = out the front and rear width and since i dont have money for a-arms and my tires need to come off anyways i thought sure why not i only weigh 150 pounds i do hit the odd 20 footer
  15. hmm check compression and re-torque you head bolts in case when everything gets good and warm it might expand you head gasket nd cuase it to run bad if not then my gess is electrical
  16. if you ask me it might sound a little louder just remember dont cut before the mount point or it will not work anymore anything after where it mounts can be cut
  17. well its full if you take the cap off, and lots goes to the pick up line will it be fine going over bumps? it will be able to swish around a bit
  18. okay so with my new bars and the way i have the front brake et up which is tilted down a little it makes the little clear glass for the front brake rezzy empty but if i jack up he frontof the bike and make it so the rezzy is level its shows full like always but the way my bars are i cant have it level so my question is, is it alright to leave it tilted i am getting good preasure on the lever what do you hink guys? i think its fine because its still full its like filling glass full of water and tilting it thats all thanks guys

  21. it doesnt have UP on the cometic gasket! so would the raised parts of the gasket down? please help hoping to have this in by tonight
  22. what happens to the impeller? does it sat on the clutch cover? will anything pop out when i take it off?
  23. okay yeah i just got in from the garage like 10 seconds ago and was looking on the old stock gasket and found the UP andwas like well theres my answer there was just a little bit of the stuff so Q-tip work fine thanks turbo i was a little worried that i screwed up my jugs
