  1. Outside or inside doesn't matter, as long as you do it parallel to the wristpin so if there is any rocking in the piston you still get an accurate measurement. Like I said I don't know too much more about it, at least not enough to recommend things to people.
  2. Yeah the solder gets squished between the piston and the head. I can't remember the number off of the top of my head but I think it is something like .035" or .040". Hopefully dajogejr chimes in I know he knows quite a bit about it.
  3. The squish band is the outer edge on this dome. It's that part with the pitting on it in this picture.
  4. Your measuring the distance between the top of the piston and the outside edge of the dome. The part that has a slight angle around the edge then comes up to a larger chamber where the spark plug is at.
  5. To measure take a piece of solder, bend it so it can go through your spark plug hole and put it against the side of the cylinder (parallel right on top of the wristpin so you don't get any rocking in the piston) and turn the motor over slowly once. You should have a squished piece of solder that you can measure the thickness with a micrometer.
  6. Yup. Give it a couple of heat cycles then ease into it a little bit taking it easy. Then you ride it like you stole it. Never had any motors come apart yet, except I blew a head off once. That was my minor (ok a little bigger than that) oversight. After some new o-rings it ran like a raped ape.
  7. I'm going to try and make it for a couple days. I should have my motor back together soon and if work allows I will try and make it out. If not I WILL be out there sometime this summer. It's pretty much a crapshoot for me.
  8. I thought it was a damned good idea and awesome climbing and graphics. They just needed to mix things up a little bit more to keep it interesting. It was always just the same shit different city with a different target. I think they are making a sequel and if they switch shit up a bit it could be a hell of a lot of fun.
  9. slobanshee06 may know where you can get some or have a set himself. Good dude to deal with. I got a set of brand new bare CPI's from him a little while ago.
  10. I just got a clutch lever and it's exactly like you said. Just ground off on the end a little bit. Otherwise brand new condition.
  11. Wipe them down after you ride with some WD-40 and it will keep them from rusting. Problem is you have to do it every time.
  12. I'm waiting for my turn. I've been putting others in the unemployment line lately but not myself yet. Stacking drilling rigs like crazy. Hopefully we start rigging some back up this summer or I won't have a job either.
  13. I don't know what is out there right now. They were doing 10% over 100 and so on but that ended with February I think.
  14. I thought ASR used heim joints all around? They look like Lonestar's too, mostly due to the ball joints.

    overflow bottle

Talk to JD on here 87sheerips I believe is his screen name. Pretty sure he just started making them.
  16. You beat me to it. Put the nut on so you don't jack up threads, heat up the end, then give it a good whack. Mine popped out after 2 times heating and hitting. I was having absolutely no luck without heat. I got it done without a vise too.
  17. Why's that? Make you want to spend some money? I just did
  18. Traded Brandon some shocks and cash for a set of in frame CPI's. Great guy to deal with!
  19. Blah blah blah my feelings are hurt because I don't run a front bumper and Angel says I should. Lot's of people's pussies getting hurt here tonight. Way to jump on the dudes ass over stupid shit fuckers. Did I spell everything right there and use proper grammar? Who cares? Now like Meat said have some fun with this shit. I don't have a front bumper just because I wanted to fit in. I can't go with my own ideas.
  20. The coolant bottle just caught overflow for me, didn't return shit. I took it off, and re-routed the overflow tube to up under the frame between the tires. If you want to see if you're overheating you just stop, look at the ground under the overflow and if it's dripping you must be getting warm. If your spraying the ground you may want to cool the ole girl down. The coolant bottle is junk.
  21. Did you see the one 1300' up to the 7' wall? If that's 1300' then I've climbed some pretty fucking high hills before. Sand Mountain in Utah is at least 2500' up then.
  22. Looking good. Looks a lot better than it did in that first pic that you had of it. Looks much better all cleaned up!
  23. :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: I about fell out of my chair that was funny as shit right now. Plus I was eating a cookie. :woot:
