  1. I was told there is acceptable loss but im a perfectionist,You can make a leak down tester for $20-$30 dollars at local hardware store. I wanted know octane value because premium is diffrent in certain places.If your running 93 with no problem you have decent porting with 20cc domes Also keep in mind a notorious air leak spot is behind the clutch cover,through the keyway on the primary drive gear,if keyway doesnt have case sealer all through there you would be extremely lucky to not have an air leak.
  2. Try simple stuff first ,change plugs,clean carbs,if you have no knowledge buy a clymers manual(a picture is worth a thousand words)

  4. I had a bike come through here running 440 mains 32.5 pilots,serios porting and tunnelling with t-5s,140psi. I am at sea level. Are u running pump gas in your bike with 20cc domes because that would be a hint into your port work. just because your plug color changes with jet change doesnt mean theres no air leak you could be chasing a problem.You bought the bike like this or redid it yourself Make sure it holds 6psi for 6min

  6. My buddie ran a fully ported bike on stock pipes ,stock everything.People with 404trinity kits were shaking there heads in disbelief
  7. Its hard to see in that light .If the steels are bluing and burnt time to change,Ive also found bluing plates and people didnt want to spend money so they got put back in ! Also look at the thickness of steels and fibers they sometimes wear thin causing problems

  9. You cant mix that 87 swinger with new style carrier, it might work but not rite

You could also buy a carb sync tool for $50 and that kind of takes the guess work out of it.I would start by taking the air box off so you can see what your doing then bottom out slides ,move each side up the littlest bit,pullthrottle to see if slides are coming up and down at same time once thats set try to start it,keep it running with throttle turn each screw same amount till idle holds,fine tune from there
  11. When I run my bike in trails or dirt drags I use a factory honda tire called an Ohtsu,I got them off F.A.S.T. racings website on a link through here,hes got a couple of options,before that I only ran good stockers because of rotating weight
  12. Just mix 32-1 its not worth fckng around like that,dominatoer is race application,Inteceptor by amsoil is play bike oil,Im not saying you wont feel a diffrence in a leaner oil mixture mixture but your crank/pistons feel it to.To each there own .

  14. Your saying you can unhook tors and it doesnt rev that sounds wrong. If you unhook tors the bike should rev. Your unhooking the little black box rite? I had a problem similar and it was plug caps thats why i told u to check resistance on electrical,you will need an ohm meter

  16. Its stated on sig you have 20cc domes.not sure of your porting but what kind of compression you running/what octane you running
  17. Try ptting some light grease on slides also make sure the hole on the cable retainer is lined up with hole in slide(from top view).I had this problem once and ended up being that. Ive used scotchbrite pad to clean slides

My advise is do some research on builders you can find many good ones on this .You can see from my sig who I chose.I like doing everything myself but just in parts knowledge alone its worth getting everything from one guy so everything meshes well.Im not going to turn this into a builder blowing war . Just dont jump into anything find the guy who catches your ear on the phone.Good luck !!!
  19. Its hard to say without having my hands on it are u close to Long island? If not check spark issues if u say carbs are clean,make sure tors is removed properly,make sure parking break switch isnt activated even though u checked it before.Check pick-up coil gap(.020),if u took fly wheel off to do timing mod make sure key is in the rite spot,make sure plug caps are good,If u have an ohm meter u can check your electrical components resistance.These are all basics but it could be something like slides are in wrong sides of carburaters,forgot choke tube between carbs, the list goes on,jetting(if weather is diffrent from when it last ran) did u remove the air box lid or anything like that.The list goes on We need more info from you and just cause it ran before doesnt mean shit isnt bad now. Its happened to me plenty.Let me know if I can help ill be home for most of the day and wiil check u later

Are u planning on running a wet system or dry shot.My friends are nitruos junkies and told me if I run nitrous w/ alky I wuold have 2 run a wet system and inject the nitrous with race gas in a converted coolent overflow bottle. I was told the intake charge of alky is too cold to react properly w/nitrous.I dont know anything about timing just wanted to give some fyi and ive never tried it

Thanks for getting back havnt had a chance to really check it out again ,ill bring the bike to work with me tonight and start testing the electrical system,unfortunatly working nights is killing me so im going back to sleep. The bike has 35mmpwks and was jetted fat for break in,I put the motor together for him 3 months ago,he put three tanks of gas and brought it back to me for rejetting I took it for a ride b4 i jetted like i always do and thats when it happened. It felt like it eas overheating so i didnt want to touch jetting till this problem is worked out 170 main is fat but the bike pulled clean and it was 20 degrees out .Ill get back to u guys later let u know how it goes THANKS AGAIN

My buddie has a freshly built 421 cub,i rode the bike today ripped it around some for 10 min or so then I pulled slowly in my driveway it started acting up like it was really hot wuoldnt rev,bogging.I hit the bike with a temp gun rite away it read 123 rite by exhaust flange a little less by water jackets. Icant see it being that hot thAT HOT with that reading. I took carbs off and cleaned the pilots out thinking something got clogged. There was alittle shit in there but not much. The bike cooled down in the interm and started back up like it didnt miss a beat,my buddy rode it later on in the after noon and said it did the same thing after it was hot loss of power and smoking like a bitch. Im almost inclined to think he was rich today because it was 56 deg today usually 25deg.I also noticed a golf ball size dent in the radiator would this stop the core from functioning well enouphto cause it to run wierd. 421 cub 170 lbs compression +4 timing 170 main 52 pilot-1 1/2 turns out sea level 56 degrees clean-up port on cub Any suggestions wuold be great,

  25. Ive never sprayed my shee just letting u know theres definitally people just throwing nitrous on and running it for shits and giggles. We are not concerned with blowing shit up,his bike needed a rebuild before he was hitting it
