  1. Man, I like those very much. I always have to run a piece of safety wire around my 2:1 filter so the outerware won't burn on the left (I think it is the left) stinger. Those protectors will solve that problem. And silver or black will be just right.
  2. I just checked, the tap I used was 6mm X 0.75.
  3. According to Toomey's website instructions, it is a 6mm x 0.75. I will check my tap when I get home and verify if nobody else chimes in.
  4. The stock needles have five grooves and the Toomey needles have six grooves. I would move the Toomey needle to the fifth groove and see what happens. Do a plug chop on it and check the jetting. Plug Chop
  5. I have only seen one banshee with Bill's pipes. Had one on my '85 LT250R back in the day. I vote barbecue flat black.
  6. At least you have not lost your sense of humor, yet. Don't get too hung up on the recommended jetting. Without actually tuning your bike specifically, it is only reasonable that the builder's suggested settings may be off a little. You will nail this problem down, and then you will be well armed to help the next HQer with the same problem.
  7. I think these two pictures speak for themselves about the value and condition of the ATVs. It is a shock that nobody bid on this auction. :shoothead: Nice axle nut and fuel line. BTW, no charge for the mosquitoes, Kaos! The banshee might look alright cleaned and polished a little. Too bad she was not smart enough to do some research before listing. Neither of them are worthless, just not worth the money she was asking for. Oh well..........her stuff.
  8. Absolutely hilarious (and true)! :yelrotflmao:
  9. I really like the Amargosa dunes. I go to Dumont once or twice a year and Coral Pink about once every other year, so it is fun to relax and throw some sand every month or so at Amargosa. I went to Sand Hollow in 04 (without paddles) and I would like to try it again soon. And, of course, I cannot wait to make the trip to Glamis for the first time! I am thinking that will be the ultimate hook. Might have to plan a little banshee "Pork Project" in the household budget for that one!
  10. Found this in the forums some time ago: Plug Chop
  11. What blowit said. X:1 means X parts of fuel per 1 part oil. Here is a quick way to calculate how much oil you will need for a given ratio (handy to know when the trusty ratio cup grows legs and walks away right after you lend it out at the dunes ). 6 gallons of fuel mixed 32:1 (128 ounces X 6 gallons)/32 = 24 ounces of oil (768:24) 5 gallons of fuel mixed 40:1 (128 ounces X 5 gallons)/40 = 16 ounces of oil (640:16) Sometimes an example or two helps.
  12. It is very clear to me now that this has gone in a different direction than I previously anticipated. I want to make it very clear that I never intended to insult Mr. Yokley's intelligence and capacity to fulfill his duties with Kawasaki. I watched the video and found some of the content (plugging the safety features, i.e. "not really on the edge") to be humorous. Even though I had honest intentions to poke a little fun, my post was rude and disrespectful, and I am taking this opportunity to say: I apologize.
  13. I 100% agree, it looks way cool, especially Devil's Dune! Mackdawg, here is another link for you to peruse. St. Anthony Sand Dune Cheers.
  14. I have not purchased the hush kit yet, I am still debating whether to get the hush kit or two spark arrestors. After some thought, dajogejr has a good point about the 4-strokes, they consistantly seem to be the noisiest. Maybe I will just get the spark arrestors for now and the hush kit later, if needed for noise issues.
  15. The Hush Kit 2.5 is available with ($189.99) and without ($129.99) a spark arrestor. Sounds like he/she has my kind of luck! That is why I will be using a hush kit this summer at the Coral Pink Dunes, and I also plan on using it at Dumont, etc. (or at least have it with me) this fall to avoid the headache. If someone is going to get nailed the day I go, it WILL be me!
  16. Yes, it does appear that public speaking is not his forte. This is my favorite quote from the clip: "You can ride it hard and it feels real safe, with this thing, you're not really on the edge." That is why I like the Banshee, there is a nice view from the edge! The view gets better and better as the wallet gets thinner and thinner!
  17. Yes, they are very big, much like the size of a pencil eraser. If I ever want to install dual calipers on the front of my mountain bike, I suppose my stock cable will work just fine for that!
  18. I Had the same problem one trip to the dunes. I did the same thing black sunshine is suggesting. Never saw sand/dirt or anything else when the carbs were apart, but the good cleaning and check-up solved the problem. I know this might be common sense, but if you do one, do both. Also, if you are not familiar with carbs, disassemble, clean, inspect, and re-assemble one carb at a time; ensuring the parts do not get mixed up makes life much easier!
  19. This is not a very good picture, but if you look carefully, you will see how small the carb ends are (as stated above). The ends should slide through the adjuster fittings and the carb caps. Throttle Cable Picture The stock cable has carb ends similar in size to the throttle housing end. Maybe you recieved a stock replacement cable instead of a non-TORS cable. The TORS system has two cables, the cable from the throttle housing to the top of each TORS switch housing, and then a small cable from the bottom of each switch housing to the slide, which has the small end also (OK, technically three cables, the throttle cable and two slide cables). :geek:
  20. I have had good luck with these guys for about ten years: Yamaha of Troy I am not sure if they are the best, though. :ermm: Here is another, never tried them: Ronnie's Hope this helps!
  21. I recommend Maxima MTL 85W or Honda HP Trans Oil 80/85W as well.
  22. If you are selling the "2:1 filter kit" with the pipes, the clamps are NOT part of the filter kit. I am not sure about the hardware, sorry.
  23. Just make sure to check your plugs after installing the 200s, depending on temperature, elevation, and humidity, it may require a larger or smaller size. Good Luck!
  24. The 2:1 filter kit I purchased from Toomey did not come with clamps. I used the stock clamps that held the airbox boots to the carbs (as it appears is the case on your filter boot). I purchased billet front and rear pipe hangers when I installed my T5s, but I am pretty sure the kit came with rear hangers (the pipes sat around for a while before I installed them). You may want to call Toomey and verify, for their website does not specifically say, if I recall. They do sell replacement hangers, so it would make sense that the kits come with them. Hope that helps!
