  1. a 1/4? good lord that's long. I bet you top out by 1/8th. If you are only losing by a 1/2 length, then that could be solved by better driving.
  2. I have the vito's one as well. I use more balls than it recommends. I figure a little more rotational mes is better than slipping. It made my old worn out slipping like crazy clutch never slip again. Just try it out, if it slips too much, add more. For drag racers who bite HARD off the line, they can tune it to slip just the right amount.
  3. A lot of good advice here to make the bike have more power. But lets not forget the two most important things, set up(read as traction) and the driver. Practice driving. I know it took me a long time to learn to drag race my banshee as best as it could be. Then keep in mind it's a drag race. All out power sometimes doesnt win. Set up is a huge part. You need to have the power to the ground, good gearing, tires and so forth. I bet you are spinning a good bit taking off.
  4. You have a slingshot and are still slipping?
  5. I went with an undercover slingshot. Cheap and using light springs provides a light clutch pull. More expensive than a good clutch but i hate 6 HD springs.
  6. I use 15/41 for most of my riding except sand dunes. For sand i use 14/41. My bike is set up to work with 15/41. Depending on traction level, i launch in 1st or second. If i figure it's going to hook, i use 1st so it doesnt bog. I dont have the power, gearing set up for 2nd gear launches. I could but id have to use a 14/41 or 14/42 set up and no way im doing that. My gearing is perfect. Pulls strong in each gear except 5th. It does have trouble reving out in 5th in the fields. Again, my bike is just a play bike. By no means is it quick.
  7. i run them backwards. Never tried them the correct way.
  8. Yeah it's hard to keep down. For consistent starts you need to stretch it. That's a given. I can sit nearly on the tank and launch decent but until mid 3rd gear, im fighting with the bike to keep it strait. My bike is set up to launch in 1st, not the usual 2nd. If you listen to the vids, i just shift up 4 times. However it provides awesome traction for my riding areas. Plus they grow from 22" to 25" over 50mph i believe. Perfect since i dont have 6th gear. I refuse to stretch my bike. It's a play bike, not a drag race bike. go on FAST's website. He sells(i think, havent been there in a while) pro wedge two's mounted on light weight wheels.
  9. I rode in dunes once. The only thing i wanted after that was SUSPENSION.
  10. It's the only tire i use http://s240.photobucket.com/albums/ff111/raguncajun/?action=view&current=riding6-27-10part1.mp4\\f go to 3:30
  11. meaning fast/quicker/set up better eh? come on now.
  12. if the clutch is adjusted right and so is everything else it's normal. When the transmission oil is cold, it's sticky. So when you put it in first, it doesnt fully disengage. So once it's warmed up, it will. Just let her idle for a bit or give it more than normal gas when clicking her into gear.
  13. I think i run 160-162 mains and 48 pilots. Im way off from what my engine porter and others recommended. Goes to show you every set up differs. I just tuned mine to run crisp and a little on the rich side. I dont rejet for winter/summer. My engine runs perfect. Not one complaint. I cant comment on any gains because my set up changed when i put new carbs on.
  14. My 30 oko's work perfect. All the problems i've had with them are my error. I dont plan to change them. Ever. Just be sure to secure the fuel line onto the carbs with small zip ties or a tiny hose clamp.
  15. Throw on some good tires and give her hell. Mines about the same set up(prob less hp) and it doesnt awesome. 9 times out of 10, the dirtbike cant hook.
  16. My 4 mill with an override. Does amazing on trails and awesome against stock stinger arm/frame bikes in a drag race. However, when a drag bike enters and is set up right, i have NO chance. And that's reality. I've riden a 4mil cub before on trails. Hated the drag port feel.
  17. Yup, i dont see myself ever going back. I dont need 6th so a stock trans serves me no benefit. Plus im spoiled with my N down Just to add, you need traction and stock shift star/spring. Also stuff like aftermarket shift kits(shift pro) and modded shift stars can hurt an overrides performance. Basically down/up shift when you dont want it to due to massive vibration when you hit bumps.
  18. My dunable 1-5 ndown just made 2 years. Still works like a champ. all i do is trail ride, play around. best mod ever.
  19. It's a drag race. Set up > power. If you are so confident you will win, then you wouldnt of made this thread
  20. ^ So what you are saying is, you actually have to go out there and race to find out?
  21. My bike is like yours OP. Just an all around trail bike. I put a strong emphasis on strait line fun when i modded it though. What gives me my edge in a drag race is traction, gear selection and my override. I won a lot of races i would of lost if i didnt have an override. And without my tires, i would have lost most of them if not all.
  22. Same with the sling shot. You can change the 6 regular springs and add/delete the little metal balls.
  23. flotek also ships stuff back quick after porting etc. 1-2 weeks. Anyways, FAST always gave me quick service. And like said, when you going to a 4mil
  24. My override did ok without a lockup. But my worn out clutch slipped. I went with a cheap slingshot lockup so i can run 3HD/3 regular springs. I love an easy clutch pull. Gonna go to a hydraulic set up one of these days.
