  1. I have my banshee posted on craigslist for sale, but was interested in finding out about putting it on ebay and getting you guys' opinions. I have never had a paypal, but because I will be getting one I will be able to sell on ebay, but have no experience. I would do local pickup only so I wouldn't have to deal with shipping. How would you guys go about down payment as far as time and final payment as far as time. Also, after it is sold could the guy go down the road and tear it up and try to blame it on me or any other liability issues he could claim through paypal and such. Anything else I should look out for or know. I would appreciate any good or reasonable advice because its a fairly big money "venture" for me. Thanks in advance.
  2. I tried to pm you but I received a message saying that you could not be pm'ed.
  3. I have a set of chrome Shearers with less than two gallons of fuel ran through them that I bought new from HJR that I am looking to sell.
  4. What kind of jetting are you guys running? I put my stock carbs back on with 25 pilots and put 350 mains in and its starts so much better than with the OKO's with 55 pilots and 165 mains. A lot of guys on here have wilder setups than me and run 3-4 sizes smaller on pilots. I can't figure out why I would need bigger pilots than everyone else.
  5. I've heard mixed feelings about them, but when I switched over to them I felt a slight increase in topend but sometimes I wonder if its worth the effort. If I can't get any logical answers I will probably put the stock carbs on to see how the setup acts with them.
  6. Last fall I swapped my stock carbs out for a set of 30mm OKO's. I had 25 pilots and 330 mains on the stock carbs with the setup listed below. When I put the OKO's on I put 55 pilots , needle at the fourth spot from the top, and 165 mains in and it wouldn't start without choke below 70 degrees, but with the stock carbs it was good to around 40 degrees. Now, I put 18cc domes, 50/50 mix of premium and 113 octane, and a set of Shearers and it doesn't hardly start with the choke on in a 65 degree building. I took it for a couple minute ride and it feels like it is hesitating for fuel in the midrange. I would just put bigger jets in, but people with similar setup have pilots in the 40's and mains in the 140's to 150's. I'm stumped and don't understand how there can be that big of a difference. Not sure if it matters but I'm around 1000ft of elevation. Any suggestions or opinions would be great.
  7. I don't want to start a pissing match, but I don't that the porting that Kevin Herr did would be lacking part of the motor. Hopefully the Shearer's will wake it up.
  8. Last summer I had mine ported with my t6's. I could not tell much of a difference from before to after porting. Shearer's are on the way so it will be interesting to see how big of a difference there is.
  9. Even if it was 69 mm bore and stock stroke it would not be a 420, it would be roughly a 404. To be a 420 with stock stroke it would have to roughly have a 70.4 mm bore.
  10. First things to always check: Whats the compression? Did you do a leak down? Are the carbs clean/ getting plenty of fuel? Does the spark look strong? Also, did it seem crisp the whole time you were riding it yesterday or did it ever seem to hesitate abnormally?
  11. Do you have an aftermarket head? If so, what size domes do you have? If you have a stock head, is it milled? What is your elevation? Depending on this information, your motor may be on the downward fall for compression.
  12. Same here, I saw it an my initial thought was it makes a huge difference. The difference between running right and running for a short time before needing torn down for a rebuild.
  13. I'd say that the factory top speed is closer to low 70's when completely stock. As far as beating a 450 in a race, I don't see that happening with a stocker. In terms of the Honda's, the 04/05 are a little weaker compared to the later models (06 up). I haven't had much experience racing many Yamaha's, but I have heard that the earlier models aren't as potent as the later ones as well. Put some aftermarket exhaust on it, different head, light porting, and advance the timing and that should help out with acceleration. Everything else such as more porting and better carbs should have you pulling away from the majority of the 450's. If you are merely after top speed, just change the sprockets.
