school me on a dunable override
RagunCajun replied to hoppedupandcutdown's topic in General Banshee Discussion
1-5 dunable here. 3+ years on my play bike. I ride trails, drag race, wheelies etc. Works like the day i put it in. Youll be fine. It wont take long to trane yourself to pull the clutch in. -
IMO you need traction. You will be playing catch up if all you do is spin. How about find some rear tires that hook better, re gear so you can launch in 1st or 2nd and run like that? My bike is a play/trail bike that i drag race with on dirt/grass. It's geared/set up to hook. Took A LOT of testing. Like someone said, did the same thing over and over until i learned what it liked or didnt liked. Id recommend a n-down 1-5 over ride too. Regear it so you can used 1-5. You surely have the motor for it. In the end, set up > power.

got both mine for about $45 on ebay. Ebay used to auction off refurbs. Highest bidder wins. Unsure if theys till do that.
-
Are Toomeys ok for this set-up or another recommendation?
RagunCajun replied to 94BANSHEE's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I sold my t5's for CPI's. But i too top end riding mostly. Depends where yo want the power and how it hits. -
Long story short is the place i used to get my fuel max race fuel went out of business. Is c16 or shell URT nearly the same? My compression was around 170psi and i refuse to mix pump and race gas. I always ran strait race fuel. I also will not lower the compression. Alky is not an option either. My truck is tuned for Shell URT and loves but it at $14-$15/gal, c16 is looking better. My last drum of shell URT was $700. I just want around the same octane. I dont mind using a few plugs for a plug chop.

Trans Not Shifting when Drag Racing
RagunCajun replied to Bansheerider82's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I recommend A n-down 1-5 dunable override. I love mine on my play bike. -
Does powder coating hold up?
-
A dyno is just a tuning tool. What I look for with my potential future mods is power delivery, power curve, and how smooth it is into the power band. In a way, those three are the same thing.
-
ATF type F here. Used it with my Override and slingshot for 2-3 years now. I will continue.
-
ASV regular length here i believe. I run 3HD and i would not want it any harder. I like as light a pull as possible. Tried the MSR Raptor lever i think it's called, it broke where you adjust the ease of pull after a short while. You can sometimes get cheap refurb ASV's on ebay.

Thanks I did not know that. Thank god I only launch in 1st!
-
Just warning the guy about having a power delivery that is all top end. I hate that for woods. Yes some do run it like that.
-
A cub(drag race cylinder) for the trails? And with that added power, there might be a possibility of a lockup then an override. But there's many people who use something like the fast clutch and shift their bikes fine without an override or lock up. A little ported 4mil on stock juggs makes for a very fun bike. The power can come on very smooth with right carbs and pipes. I like mine so much, I'm going to build another banshee if I want to step it up. If I rode a lot of trails, I'd do better suspension before added any more power.
-
Drag racing has a lot more to do than numbers. My buddy has a Kawasaki 450 drag bike around 45-50hp. It would destroy your average piped banshee.
-
want to make all the power i can.
RagunCajun replied to willardwright59's topic in General Banshee Discussion
OP, you said HJR ported your juggs. That is the person who can best answer your questions. He knows what works and doesnt work with his port job. Call the guy and chat about your goals and work out a happy medium. Good luck sir. Mines a trail bike with a big emphasis on drag racing. If i had to do it all over again, i would of kept it a ported stock strong bike. Instead of me spending the money on going to a 4mil and cpi's, i could of kept my t6's or t5's(i had both), and put that money into suspension. Although i have yet to meet a stock swing arm 4 stroke that can beat me in a strait line. And as for post #28 and #29, ill keep that in mind. I've been out the scene for a bit. -
If for some odd reason, you dont like it, you wont lose much money selling it IMO.
-
Listen to those words. If you spend time/money on setting up your bike with your current power level, it will perform much better than slapping on some sniper pipes or any pipes that you want so badly. My bike used to hook in 4-6th. I got tired of playing catch up to the point where i was aggravated with me bike. Then i found out about pro wedge 2 tires and that was history. I've been seeing 4sno i think it's called. But i know my current tire well. Then over ride and lock up. It can be VERY hard to nearly impossible to shift a high hp banshee with a lockup and no override. Vito's sells an undercover slingshot style lockup. It's what i use. I like it because it works with the stock case. I want to say it was close to $220 but dont quote me on that, it was years ago when i got it. Heck, i dont even know if they still make/sell them. But if so, it's a good bit cheaper than the other type and you can adjust it A LOT. Since mines a play bike, i put a little more metal balls than what the instructions called for.

I'm always back loading mine when i drag race and wheelie. I dont clutch to bring the front down, i just let off the gas. I'm not saying you can do it all you want, but it suits me. If i get another banshee, i hope the same guy who made mine can do another.

Let the Banshee build begin
RagunCajun replied to Tommilicious's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I'm all for banshees but you must be a die hard 2 stroker person to sell a 4 stroke for a banshee and set it up for trails. I'm surprised no one recommended the 2 in 1 intake. -
It's about time wheelie king!
-
That's how i been doing it. I will let the RPM's in the engine go down before letting off the gas basically rev matching the engine. When i let others ride my bike who have no clue what an override is, i tell them just use the clutch when they let off above half throttle. Best thing is, a no name person cut mine for a good price. I hope his buddy on here see's this and lets him know it's still going strong. I bought an over ride without really riding one. Everyone said it was for drag racing only. Glad they were wrong That's a quick video i did a few months ago.

Whats the better radiator on Ebay?
RagunCajun replied to turbowrenchhead's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Why the need for another radiator? My stock one works fine and i ride in the heat. Only other cooling mod is a billet impeller. -
I love mine. Been beating on the bike for over 2 years. Ill never own a banshee without one. If you dont need 6th, it's IMO the best option. I lost count of the races i would of lost if i didnt have it.
-
My bike is set up for a 1st gear launch. I dont see a point of having an all around bike like i have to have 5 gears(no 6th due to my override) and not use them all.
