yamaha04 replied to WinchedWolvy's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Bikebandit.com oem parts dealer. just look up your year and it will if you and exploded veiw of everything on your banshee. yemahaoftroy.com another oem parts dealer same as bikebandit but alittle cheaper. buddy just told me about that site lastnight -
lol its a pretty good place to be when you have banshee trouble. we have all had many problems and 100 minds are better then one. anwya it was nice to her ya got her going i knew that was the problem. anyway have a good ride treat her right lol

its jetting wrong thats your problem you dont need to tear it down nore do you need to get an air box. is it smokeing when your past 3/4 throttle if so step down a size on the main and see if that clears up the 3/4 to full throttle hesitation.
-
if someone doesnt want to hush kit i will be willing to buy it for the right frice as log as its spark arrested
-
theres way to many different colors of paint and powder coat out there i think you would either have to ask the owner or try and match it with some color samples. most paint or PC guys got tons of sheets of colors im sure you could find something close to it

Going to be RICH. hows the snow there simon we are getting powned down here in Ontario

here you can find all kinda of info on jetting in the jetting section here a bit of an artical i copyied from there Main Jet: Finally the good old main jet comes into play at three-quarters open to full throttle conditions. Most of you already know a bigger main jet has a bigger hole so it lets more gas into the engine! Pretty simple! As simple as it is the minuet is absolutely CRITICAL to high-speed engine operation. Not only does it meter the gas into the engine, it can aid in cooling the engine as well. A properly sized main jet will let the engine make good power for a long time. One size smaller main jet may make greater power for awhile. A slightly rich mixture burns cooler than a lean one so be sure the main jet is big enough!

sounds like jetting to me what jets are you running and what mods does it have also what elevation are you at. i dont think it would have anything to do with the pipes. never really heard of a pipe beig carboned up? correct me if im wrong please but this is new to me. its forsure jetting if it still has close to the stock jets in it because of the pods you will be flowing was more air. mean yu need more fuel on top. or if the dealership jetted it like you said and its puffing thick blue on top then it could be breacking up because they jetted it to rick on top.

forsure its your carbs tors is throttle, overide ,system. if your one slide is stuck or you throttle gets suck it will shut the bike down and you will have no spark. they aperantly cuase alot of problems. your system is probaly working good since you have spark. just clean them bowls and make sure the floats move up and down freely and your set but try taking the carb bowl first sometimes it sticks after you tear it down and it just takes a tap to get it moving again
-
you float is stuck duming out fual as fast as it can go in so she wont start like that. give your carb bowls a few taks with the end of a screw driver if that doesnt stop the overflow drainage then you need to take the carbs back off and clean the float valve or whatever its called. take the bowl off take that little pin out that holds the float and take that little valve thing out and clean it with some air or brake clean then reassemble and try that should work.

terry cable is the bard or company try rockymountinatv.com or alba, maybe cascade innovations.
-
anyone know a good place to get them i blew one off with the preasure washer lol i know better but i was straped for time and decided to use it and wasnt carfull. at the stealership its like 60 or 80$. also anyone know where i can get some works shock bushings. works is way to hard to get ahold of looking for some aftermarket ones. heres the sticker i need
-
also if your carbs are froze and thats your problem you could heat them up with a torch i wouldnt do it for long but if that the problem. wont work if a jet is cloged
-
if the intake boots are cold i would just forget about it lol its a tight fit but can be done. easyest way is to take the air box out then slide the carbs back and there out. hard part is pusshing the air box ahead so you can slide it out of the holders on each side of the frame and when cold i think i would just give up and put it in a warn spot.

yeah iv seen them dual gassers my question is. is there a locking screw or something it hold the twist in place when useing the thumb?]
-
yeah forsure. if you got good spark its fuel realted then take the carbs off let them warm up check for frozen lines and stuff like that. iv seen carbs accualy work great then just freez up and the machine quits. it happend lot on this older yamaha bravo 250 single carb sled my buddy had. alluminm disapates heat so if its -9 then the carbs are probably alot colder
-
lol no no thank you lol
-
cpi's without the packing and the core. my buddy had a sparky fall off in the dunes and it blue his packing and core out and honestly it was probably the loudest more sicking banshee iv heard. it didnt even sound like a good loud like the OOF non silenced pipes it was just nasty sounding lol i wouldnt suggest buying cpi inframes and trying that lol
-
its called a dual gasser. you can switch back and forth whatever you like best. i dont have one but iv seen them. if your new to rideing the thumb will make your thumb hurt or if you havent used one it will forsure make it hurt but its all on what you get use to this topic can go on for years arguing back and forth witch is better for this and that but in the end its all personal opinion and pereferance. again if you new to rideing and you want to try them both but have no way to do it like another buddies bike get the dual gasser and the option is all yours. lol that kinda sounds like a slogan commercial for the dual gasser.

um 35,36 mm carbs would be way way to big without porting work done on your cylinders. T5,s T6,s are both good pipes more people like the t5,s because they are supose to be better with porting. t6,s are good for a semi stock motor i guess. they probably perfome good on either way better then stock anyway lol. to check the domes you have to take the head off and look at the # stamped on them. ther are other way to tell but you still have to take the head off. if you really want to spend the money on some new carbs get some 28mm pwk's they are a better design carb then the stock 26mm and will flow alittle more air to give you a better top end but still all around good power. my suggestions is if the motor is tight then move down a size in domes get your compression to around 145. thats a good pump gas compression, clamp them K&n on. get and adjustibale timeing plate. move it to +4. you already have pipes that are good, get some reeds. vforce 2 or 3's or maybe just some boyseen powver reeds, and if thats not enough power then get your cyilenders ported. but from what iv read you should bump you compression up again you may have good dome but you motor is wore out or you may have a tight motor and a high cc dome. but get your comp up to around 145, and you will fell the difference with reeds and a timeing plate
