  1. I'm trying to match the orange color of the raptor 700 SE. I have bought a few different powders thinking they were close and they weren't so I was wondering if anyone out there knows of a powdercoat that is close to that color.
  2. take your cyclinders and pistons and get them mic'ed. I could be that either the cyclinders are not both the same size or maybe the pistons are different. I think those other numbers are batch numbers, and having one from 2 different batchs isn't a bad thing.
  3. This thread is older then 2 of my 3 banshees.
  4. What are you looking to get for the cub?
  5. I have a set and there is nothing wrong with them, the fit well, look good, and are chromoly. That being said I wouldn't buy them again. hiem joint at the knuckle is overkill and I really don't like it. They have too much adjustment for most anyone and where there is adjustment there is a chance of failure.
  6. I assume it took the bottom end with it? There is no way you are lucky enough to get all those pieces out the exhaust.
  7. I know this is no help but I like that blowit says not to run it because it might blow it. haha I am so lame
  8. No one is going to give you the majic numbers, but I have run 175psi with +4 on av100ll. and I have never had a problem. Also what is your elevation?
  9. sound and pressure waves could be effected by the density of the vessle, which changes due to the added powder coat. however I feel it is unlikly anyone would fel a difference.
  10. FYI an infrared temp guns do not read correctly on chrome or shinny surfaces.
  11. for whatever reason the vw have a quite cool about them. my buddy just bought a brand new R32 and is already buying the twin turbo for it.
  12. I won't laugh I'm using a spare kitchen oven, I just didn't think a swinger would fit in there. tate: on that chrome platter how did you get both sides? did you do one side bake it and then the other side?
  13. From what I have read a lot of garage setups can be made out of cinder blocks and halogen lights, but I have seen some that sheet metal and insulated with house insulation. What are you using to get a +2 swingarm in there?
  14. Now that was the kinda of response I was looking for. I'll have to try the fade this weekend, it doesn't sound as bad as I was thinking it would be. what do you use to spray in/on? Right now I'm using a cardboard box , but I need to get a dust collection system for it. lol
  15. So I bought myself an inexpensive powder coating setup a while back and I've dicking around with it off and on for a while. Now that I have a few parts under my belt I'm looking to get a little more fancy. What I'm looking to do is some 2 tone and fade technques. When you tape off to do a 2 tone how to get a crisp line that are both the same thickness? Just not worry about it and put a clear on it? How the hell do you fade with powder? I've mixed colors and they seem to kinda come out speckled which looks cool, but not sure how to turn this into a fade. Also since I'm doing this in my garage and it is too wet outside to work I'm thinking about a paint booth. What do you hobbist use? I've been to some places that do it for a living and they have very nice and expensive setups. Do any of you reclaim your powder on smaller setups? When I get a chance I'll post some pics of some of my parts. This shit is a kick in the pants. also for those of you that do this for a living when I get my next frame done is it unheard of for a customer to bring in their own powder to use? Or atleast request a certain brand be used?
  16. I guess you had to have been there.
  17. I get the joke, but you guys trying to figure it out is way more funny. The fact that he had to explain it 3 times is great. hahaha best joke I've read on here even if it take an explanation.
  18. post some pics, it will make things go a lot faster.
  19. you should buy it, but make sure you put a lot of insurance on it.
  20. not to be rude, but I have bought motors in $1000 range that had a lot more to offer and were in a lot better shape. If you have your heart sent on a $1000, maybe you should take the time and clean the parts up and part it out.
  21. after seeing their website I think I'll pass on that one. I like my lock up cover and directdrive has made more then one.
  22. I agree that their prices are good, but half the time thier products come broken or in the case of the timing plates they come missadjusted and you have to break them to get them to work. I personally don't ever want to buy from a company that I know the product has a 50% chance of not working the first time. With all the problems they seem to have it is hard for retailers to sell their product knowing that some of them are going to return upset about RS shit not working. There was a time that things were different and I wish RS would go back to the good old days of compentent quality asurance. In the meantime people will continue to buy their shit because it is cheap and in some case the only one producing products.
  23. who sells the slingshot?
  24. I would have given up and went home long ago. It could have been worse the fat bitch could have wanted to take a piece of you home with her.
  25. just doing pipes will be a night and day difference. don't forget to rejet.
