Not really sure I understand what you are asking but, I will try and help you out here.
The bed liner stuff never really cures to the point where it is hard, it stays a rubbery texture and it is very heavy. The good news of it all, you can just get a rattle can to touch it up. If this is you desired texture then you can get a wrinkle coating. There are a few colors to go from but here is black.
If your PC wears off in a few rides there is some kind of issue, unless you are just dragging the entire ride on rocks, and I mean litterally dragging. There are a few bikes at my shop with belly pans that only have scratches on them, and they are riden every weekend, through mud, rocks, trails, and roads. The best thing yo do is ask the coater the process in which they use, some will only sandblast then coat, others bake, blast then coat. Others will leave the cleaning up to you, prep. is everything...
