  1. I saw them one modquad's website.
  2. Not to be a ass or something, but its not a good idea, built a cup or something, before you tear the frame apart. With that motor you will have to upgrade brakes, suspension, and lots more, its to heavy. There are much better options than that. Go for a cup or something!! DEPENDING WHAT YOU WANT TO DO. EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN IDEAS AND I RESPECT THAT
  3. Wish I could get some in South Africa!! Maybe I will start import it, just have to find a nice dealer in the states with good service. I heard only good things about this stuff!!!
  4. You've got carb issues, check your float levels, they should be 21mm, and adjust your air screws. This sounds if your float levels are to low, it can be crank seals as well. Maybe a possibility of reed petals coming loose or a reed gasket leak. When its cold and you start it, does it idles high for a moment and then wants to die?
  5. GOOD POINT!!!!!!
  6. Check your fuel line, the filter in the tank are maybe dirty, it might be a crank seal, it can even be the stator itself. I have a YZ250 in my shop which starts easy, runs fine, but when on operating temp, it just starts backfiring and dies, in this case it was the left crank seal and the stator coil. But, it can be a lot of other things as well, difficult to diagnose a problem without seeing the bike.
  7. Did HD replaced the arms for you, or did you have to pay for it, I thought HD was lifetime guarenteed against bending and breaking? I know this was a accident from your side, but just curious?
  8. Does anyone use 2-stroke software? What do u think is the best? TSR? MOTA? Bimotion? Thanks
  9. I am looking for a stock stroke crankshaft, hotrods or oem one, good or rebuildable condition to be shipped to South Africa. I will pay via paypal and additional shipping costs which is about $50 I am not in a hurry for this, but looking at my options. THANK YOU..

  11. Check your float level it should be 21mm without the gasket or your needle and seat has dirt in it, or the seat o ring needs to be replaced, or the hole needle and seat needs replacing.
  12. agree, no way to check a plug if the motor does not work, the motor must do some work and not run freely.
  13. When you replaced the clutch, your first plate should be a friction plate one and not a metal one, you should end with a friction plate as well. sometimes people put the metal plate in first and this will cause a lot of slip.
  14. You probably have a air leak on that cylinder, check out around your reed cages for a blown reed gasket and check the base gasket. Are there a hole in the centre of the piston or is the piston burned away on the exhaust side?
  15. Its much more difficult to hear detonation in a liquid cooled machine, you will not blow the motor right up if it runs freely and most motors start detonation when they work really hard, like pulling in 4,5,6 gear, not by just revving them. It sound like a piston knocking against the cylinder head or worst, like rocks in the combustion chamber, My CR500 had done it a lot on hillclimbing, never blew the motor, had the change to sort it out, unfortunatly my RZ did it and I did not hear it and blew it up in 200m straight line, because of a faulty CDI. I have found that it is very difficult to hear it on a twin cylinder liquid cooled than any other machine, but thats my opinion
  16. Most of these aftermarket shocks like elka etc they built the shocks for the type of riding and your weight and a-arms, the banshee has old technology shocks if i can say it like that, that cant be match by todays shock standards Go with +2 wider +1 forward a-arms, dont go with a long travel setup because the banshee frame geometry is not up to the task for long travel, you will have bump steer. You will not believe how these elkas can eat up bumps and jumps! I weight 110kg and have the elka compression & rebound adjustable front shocks built and valved for my weight for cross country, on hydrodynamic +2 +1 a-arms, at wide open throttle I just dont feel the whoops and bumps, that shocks just eat it all up and theres no way the standard setup would handle it the same why without throwing me over the bars!! I am saving for the elka rear linkage and shock. Do a search in the forums and you will find all the answers you are looking for.
  17. There are thousands of after market spares for the banshee. My personal opinion is to upgrade your suspension to elkas, works or whatever shock you prefer with longer a-arms (depends on what kind of riding you do) Get a K&N air filter, Noss cool head with domes (depends on what fuel u use), v force 3 reed cages, this is all bolt ons. If you have to rebuild go for a nice port job!
  18. Fix Compression = Rebuilding top end.
  19. The blasters are pretty bulletproof air cooled motors, I'd say go for it.
  20. No, have'nt got the chance to ride one, but man they look awesome and I think it will be a *** to keep up with!!!
  21. Is it possible for some pics of the porting? Especially the transfers and exhaustport. Thanks
  22. Yes that could cause the problem. If the clutch basket gear runs in the wrong direction and 'catches' the kick starter gear it wil drag it into the same position as when it is when you kick start the bike, if I am not wrong the kick starter shaft gear cannot rotate 360 degrees than it stops, so the basket gear will force the kickgear to run with it, so it brakes the tooth off, because it cannot rotate 360, worse case if your engine does not die you can brake a casing, The same thing happens to me with an old AG175 2 stroke. Running backwards can be caused by wrong timing and backfiring when kick starting the bike or as I heard even a crank thats not welded and moved slightly out of trued position. BUT let some confirm this. That was the Ag175s problem. What happened to me when I strarted the Ag I did not knew it was running backwords and almost lost my balls because I wanne to spin the bike, ending up on the handlebars!! Crazy stuff!! My english is not very good, I am from SA, so tryinh to explain is difficult.
