  1. What a arms do you have on the front? I like them, what make? Thanks
  2. I am a RD/RZ 350 tunner, they were my bread and butter for years, we raced them motors in off road buggies, with motors doing 75 HP we have NEVER weld a crank, if the crank is rebuild more than 3-4 times then i will recommend you weld it. Like i said that is our experience on motors pushing NOT over than 75HP. I have NEVER had one crank come apart in my racing career. But like i said its just my opinoin AND EXPERIENCE. Another opinion http://www.froggy.se/skalmanmc/rd350/index.htm they raced a RD350 with 90Hp on the crank, never welded. Its the same crank that your banshee run with. NB like i said if the crank is rebuild more than 3 times weld it. I have a crank running in a motor whichthe crank has been rebuild 4 times, (70HP motor) in a buggie, no problems at all. But one can only say if the crank will stay together if you rebuild it, depending of how hard it press together if you rebuild it. ONLY MY Experience!!!!!!!
  3. Not if your a pro! Trust me :-)
  4. Reliability comes first Thanx
  5. Can anyone explain to me what is the differance between a long and short rod 4mm stroker crank? What 4mm stroker crank would you preffer with the cubs? The long or short rod? I am doing mostly trails. I see the cranks are welded, can you rebuild them, what conrods do they use? eg blaster ect? What bigends? The reason i am asking is i want to import a set of cylinders and the crank, but i dont want to import the conrods or bearing everytime to South Africe when i want to do a quick rebuild. I tried to contact FASST, but no response, i really want to purchase this kit, kind of desperate. Can i buy from patriot racing direct? How reliable is the kit? Thanks
  6. Take a multimeter and test the ohms on the pick up. I think it should be +- 20% 115ohm
  7. Send me your e mail adress or e mail me with stock cylinder prices and port job prices. If you have any dyno results it will help. Will you ship to SA? [email protected] Thanks
  8. I want to make the BANSHEE name NEW again in this country, although there are lots of Banshee owners, non of it has really good port job, like some of the thing i read from USA websites. The thing is I need standard banshee jugs, I can wait , ive bought some stuff on ebay, it takes 3-4 weeks for shipping for about $50-60 usd. I hear everyone talks about this Jeff guy, I know i will get alot off answers for the next qustion. Who wil be able get the most power out of a set of banshee cylinders for enduro en dune drag races? I need to buy the cylinders with the porting, stock bore and stroke. Please let me know. How can I get hold of Jeff at FAST? Email adress? Do you guys have links for bying banshee perts from the uk?? Thanks I appriciate the answers
  9. I bought a new 2006 Banshee, Pro circuit pipes and K&N. I want to buy a extra set of cylinders from the states wich are stock bore and stroke with a good porting for enduro and Dune racing. I am n RD350 tunner, done some porting myself, but with the trail and error, I just cant afford it anymore. I need some who really knows what he is doing and willing to sell a set of cylinders with the port work. Will pay paypal. Are there any one out there that can give me an e mail addres to contact someone who wil ship to South Africa, I think I want to get new Banshee blood in the country! Something that does not exist here. I can send my cylinders to shops locally, but theres only one guy who really knows what he is doing, but they wont port it exactly the same as their own race bikes, off course they know they dont want someone elses Banshees to run like theirs. Can someone help me. Thanks
  10. Had the same problem, just post it yesterday, richer pilot did the thing
  11. Although the rz gearing is a bit faster in 2nd gear, ill start with 2nd, you have more than enough HP to start in 2nd gear with the 14 41 setup with RZ gearbox. My opinion and experience, I am a RZ350 tunner, love them, I dont say I am the Best, but know them motors well, the RZ350 was my bread and butter for years. :-)
  12. With 75HP ill go for the 14 41 setup even with big tyres. I know that a RZ350 gearbox is better than a banshees gearboxes ratios(when the shee is ported), or that is my experience. I run a RZ350YPVS motor on a off road go kart. This thing weighs in at 300kg, independand suspension everything, on stock bore and stroke with Bosson Peromance pipes( Almost as the T5s little differansce to compliment rz ports) 2 in 1 K&N, almost 70Hp on the dyno and with that weight it goes like you cant believe. with a 15-45 gearing and 22-11-8 sur tracks. RZ350 Banshees is unbelievable fast!
  13. I think its ok, dont really like the Kawas, power wil be more and less the same as the Ltr and they are not bad. Dont really care if it is 60, 70 or 80 HP, I'll race it, will find a way to get past it with my shee!! :-)
  14. Looks like South Africa is getting a 2007 as well!!! :-) The Legend lives on in the Kalahari Desert!!!
  15. Just got a 2006 banshee in to tune. Havent tried anything out to solve the problem, wil do tommorow, just ask your opinion, wil save me time. The bike has 25 hours on the motor, suddenly struggling to start if the bike has cooled down. the guy said in the morning the bike just begin to start diffucult not even cold here, its summer, ive checked it out myself, the bike actually starts first kick, but then dies after idling on choke for a 3 seconds, kick again the same thing, if you touch the throttle (choke on any position) it dies. He had put on pipes and k&N filter, I did the jetting, runs perfect, but he said it wasnt like this after instalation of the pipes etc. Anyway i think its the airscrews/pilots. If i put my hand on the airbox intake to close it down so let the bike get more fuel it starts immediatly and idles normal and then you can throttle it as well. But if you dont put your hand on the intake you will have to kick 20 times till bike gets warm after dying each time. If its warmed up i can start it by hand and it runs perfect. So the bike is to lean on low rpm, ok, but its weird, its as if the choke does not richen the mixture. Ive havent looked in to it really, dont have time, even if you adjust the airscews there is no differance, even with them closed! I will figure it out, but maybe with you guys advice, wiil be faster, will spare me time, like i said bike is brand new, no air leaks etc. Any opinions? Thanks
  16. [The t6 pipes are good, but i understand that you have a new bike with just an hour on. The motor is fresh, let it run in for a while, the bike wil run better if u give it time to break in a bit, not much, but a little bit.
  17. Thanks I appriciate the language thing. I know you dont want to be an ass. :-) its interresting, remember that if the truck with the less torque have to shift down, it will loose speed, if the ratio the truck is in, is to slow, so the other truck wil outrun him. :-) Hey I like you Banshee people! 2 Strokes Will rule as long as the banshees exists, we wil find a way to beat the fourstrokes to come in the next 10 years!!!
  18. I've got a Trail Tech vapor digital display computer on my banshee. water and dust resistant, tacho meter, air temp, engine temp, speed, shiftlight, engine temp warning light!!! Awesome! www. trailtech.net
  19. [Thank you I appreciate! [email protected]
  20. Runs fine without the filters on open carbs, weve tested it indoors without changing jetting. Weve tried from 340 downwards, brand new motor. Presasure tested etc. Well sort it out. Thanks
  21. But now you are taking it to far, trying to say about how the bike is set up etc. Anyway, let me put it this way, like you said the amounnt of torque on the rear wheels is not the amount of torque on a dyno, true, so if the seup is the same, gearing etc, 2 motors with the same HP, but the one has more torque than the other... The 1 wich has the torque advantage on the crank wil have the torque advantage on the rear wheels. I know that a 5hp briggs & Stratton go kart can have 200nm of torque at the rear wheels, without having a big engine. But if youu have a torque motor, you WILL have a torque advantage at the rear wheels over another bike with the same setup that does not have that much torque even if it has the same HP. Torque is meaningless by itself, if you read the first post, I said you need a good COMBINATION. Dont get me wrong here, i love 2 Strokes and they TORQUE with a good setup! :-) Its diffucult trying to explain something i want to, because i am not english speaking. I know this has nothing to do with bikes, but same theory. A truck with a diesel engine that has 1000nm of torque and 500Hp will keep uphill, against strong headwinds, thick sand etc pulling a load much better, than a 600Hp truck with 750nm. Maybe you get me wrong, Hp gives good acceleration, but maintaning speeds against hills and sand you need torque. Lets leave it there, really dont want to argue. Torque is not just about gear ratios and chaniging sprockets.
  22. JESUS LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He loves all of you!
  23. Make sure your bike does not have more than 1500ml of oil in it, if you have to much oil in your gearbox it will make shifting hard and hard to find neutral. Check clutch adjustment and oil vecosity. Good Luck
  24. Good point, thanks. LOL. Yeah I am new here. Only Sooouth African i think. lol
  25. There is a lot of confusion when it comes to torque. Torque is pulling power, the more torque you have, the easier you wil be able to drag a lot of weight over hills, threw sand etc. Thats why they need high torque enjins for towing big loads or in fact any load. For instance, (horsepower gives good acceleration) but if you accelerate hard and reached a speed of say 60mph, torque is the factor wich is going to keep that bike running at 60mph, uphill, through thick sand, against strong head winds, not horsepower!!!!!!! I dont want to start bragging but I am a Mechanical engineer, i dont just suck this out of my thumb. Go search the internet if you dont believe me!! LOL.... [i agree, so lets leave it there. lol I just wanted to raise the torque factor :-), guess it wasnt a good idea.
