  1. is this on the stock carbs? I would suggest the the chock plunger is most likely worn and requires replacing
  2. all depends what you are after. A smaller carb will work the bottom-mid alot better. By the sound of your setup you are after something for the trails? i would suggest the 33 would be a better choice.
  3. no the stator plates are different between the two because the stators are differant but they share the same bolt pattern
  4. Of coarse its gona work but the question is is it better than the twins? And at what points in the power curve are they better(or worse)? You really need a stock bike, run it on the dyno then swap to the cv and run it. Compare charts. Then a bike with pipes and filter. Same thing one run with twin 26 and one with the cv and one with 33-35mm twins this time too. Then bike with porting and the rest of the shit and try the 3 different carbs on em.
  5. there is not supposed to be any contiuity between the primary and secondary of the coil. You should have next to nothing across the primary(two blade terminals) and accross the plug leads it should be a few thousand ohms. Im not exactly sure on what the readings should be.
  6. that sounds like b/shit. The fact that you say in you sig that you have a full drag port it should be alot lower. i suggest you try another gauge.
  7. In regards to the TZ's They where competion only road bikes. The range consisted of a 250 twin, 350 twin ,700 which later became 750 inline 4. They dominated the world gp classes right troughout the 70's. I myself have a project going with using an rd350 bottom end with one of the barrels off a tz750 for use in my banshee.
  8. there is plenty of 2smoke twins similar to the banshee RZ350 RD350 TZ350 But they all came in road bikes
  9. was the basket grooved? i would suggest that, that is the case and it is causing the plates not to release properly
  10. that is something that you will have to work through, what i do suggest is throw those stock carbs away and get some larger ones. With a stroked, bored and ported engine your holding back alot of potential.
  11. My suggestion for best pipes for trail ride is stockos. They have a good spread of power, dont get in the way of your knees, are not very load and there free. I think people overlook the stocks as an option.
  12. use a rubber mallet or something similar to remove the studs. Or put a piece of hard wood over the stub and then hit the hardwood with your hammer. This will remove the studs with no damage.
  13. listen to banchetta's advice. I would say he is right for 95% of you guys with the hard to start when cold problem. If you look at the two carbs, one has an extra tube extending down. Now look at the bowls where that tube would slide into, one has a hole at the bottom of the bowl and the other does not. The bowl with the hole needs to go with the carb with the tube. This supplys the choke system with fuel. The bike should start within a couple of kicks hot or cold with no throttle. Holding the throttle open or pumping it prior to kicking it will do nothing for it as the carbs have no accelerator pump.
  14. the throttle cable i am using is a new one that i made from scratch.
  15. ok i just made a sig with my engine mods
  16. Put a set of 34mm flat slide power jet mikunis on my bike thismorning and set up the jetting. What a differance. Its got top end pull now like you would not believe. It did not hurt the bottom and mid either. Still pulls in nice and smooth like it did with the 26mm stockers. Definate improvement and should be good for long track racing!
  17. get chrome slides to. this will stop it. I have crome slides for my 34mm round slide carbs
  18. Please list your pilot, main and needle jet if possible. Im having a bit of trouble sorting through the jetting.
  19. yes they swap right in. Has anyone used the rz tranny? how did the like the ratios?
  20. i had the same problem when i did race logic with my dremal. I cant remember how high they said to cut the transfers? was it 3mm higher? Please remindme.
  21. filter clean? You said you just had carbs off, there not flooding are they or needle and seat jamed?
  22. whats your engine mods and main jet size?
  23. never been to perth. Nice to know of other aussies on the site
