  1. back in the day when the rd400 and 350's came out. they had this same problem of throttles sticking in the rain. my bike did it all the time when going through puddles and rain and i solved it by polishing the inside of the carb body, where the slide run, to a mirror finish. Have had no problems since.
  2. Hi! How are you all. Its been a bloody long time since ive been on hear and i have your answer. I have answered this question previously on this forum. First of all the standard carbs have teflon coated slides. When moisture is added to these types of slides they tend to stick momentarily. This is why when splashing through a puddle can cause the engine to continue reving. Why only with tors removed you ask? Lets say your out on a trail, 4th gear wide open through a puddle and then shut off for a corner. With tors the system detects the open slide/s and a closed throttle so ignition is killed, cause the slides only tend to stick for a moment it will return to normal without you noticing anything different. Without tors there is no safety fearture for an event like this so the engine keeps reving. Some solutions Run complete airbox and snorkel Run different carbs Or my choice remove and clean carbs. Get yourself some autosol(metal polish) and polish the inside of the carb body where the slide runs. Polish it until the slide bore is really smooth. Now clean and lube your throttle cable and throttle. You should be pretty right now and have 1 super smooth throttle. Pls email me when you have tried this to lert me know your experiances.
