  1. 11. Dont forget this one too. 12. For cleaning your choke pull this little rubber peice back 13.Use your adjustable wrench to unscrew the nut holding the choke in 14. Pull out the choke and spray it with carb cleaner Heres my HUGE 24" wrench. It was cheaper at harbor freight than buying axle wrenches from rmatv. Thats my cousins blaster axle laying next to it. (just a random extra) Follow the instructions backwords for reinstalling your carb. Be careful of the needle, they have been known to bend. Hope this helps. Any questions feel free to ask. There is a rubber tube that connects the 2 carbs, make sure that is reinstalled when you put the carbs back on. This how to was done on a blaster and they only have 1 carb so I couldnt get a pic of the rubber tube.
  2. I did a short how-to on cleaning your carb. I hope this helps people that are uncomfortable with doing it themselves. It is really very simple. Once you do it you wont ever forget how. This stock carb is off of a 2002 blaster, but all of them are the same. I am going to assume that you know how to remove to carb from the quad. It is simply 2 screws, the fuel line, and unscrewing the top of the carb that which should be fairly obvious and simple. I would like to say in advance that I am not responsible for anything that you mess up. Some people may have there own opinions on how to clean there carb but this is how I do mine. If you would like to add in more tips feel free. Here are the tools you will need 1. Carb cleaner 2. Clean rag 3. Medium sized philips and standard screwdrivers 4. Small or medium sized adjustable wrench 1.First Get your tools together. 2.Remove the pilot jet (idle jet) and spray with carb cleaner. (remember how many turns it is out from being all the way in if you dont know how to adjust it.) 3.Heres what it looks like, There is a small spring that sits on the end of it. Dont lose it and make sure to reinstall it. 4.Remove the 4 screws on the bottom of the carb that hold on the float bowl (be careful these have been known to strip very easily) 5.This is what you should see. The brass nut in the center is your main jet. (usually this will get gummed up or clogged, spray this whole area with carb cleaner but try to avoid the gasket) 6.Remove the main jet and plastic shroud and spray them (the jets are usually brass so be careful) 7.Here is the main jet (has a number stamped on it which is the main jet size. The bigger the number the bigger the hole to allow more fuel flow) 8.Here is the inside of the top of the carb. Make sure you spray out the inside of the needle jet real good as well as were the carb slide rubs. 9.Here is the slide, the notch in the slide needs to line up with the pin in the picture above for proper installation. 10.Spray out the overflow tube with carb cleaner
  3. It would be nice to have a "quicklist" section with links so you can just scroll through it. Kinda like this. http://www.r6messagenet.com/forums/r6-how-...-link-list.html Im going to do a search for carb cleaning. I have enough pics to do a how-to.
  4. Isnt that the truth... The typical replys are "Look at your service manual" or "Look at the dip stick". Lotta dickheads on here The last 2-3 millimeters on your dipstick is what you measure by. Do not thread the dipstick in when you are checking it. Just place the dipstick onto the side cover. Like the guy above me said about 1.5 quarts. Anything that says "contains no friction modifiers" or "wet clutch compatible" on the bottle will work. Some people use trans fluid, some use gear oil, some use motor oil. Its all personal preference but I would definitely use a full synthetic.
  5. Is there a how-to/do it yourself section? It would bring a ton of hits to the site. Ive got a few pictures and I coudl throw together some how-to's just dont know what section to put them under.
  6. My guess is a shift fork or the dogs on 5th gear are worn. Has he changed the tranny fluid? What fluid is in it?
  7. Just like the title says, looking for paul turner mids for an a-arm frame banshee. Finish doesnt matter but they cant have dents. Silencers or not, doesnt matter. Lemme know what youve got! Thanks, Kevin
  8. pm me location plz.
  9. Could try running it at idle with the air filter off and see what the plugs look like. You might need a different idle jet.
  10. I had PTR mids but they ended up being the j-arm type and I had to sell them cause they wouldnt fit. I havnt managed to find a good set since then. That was the exact answer I was looking for to adjust the floats! thanks a lot man! The way i figured it out was everytime I unloaded it right out of my truck and tried to start it, it fired up no problem. If it was sitting in the garage for a bit and I try to start it, it wouldnt start.
  11. Price for pipes and silencers shipper to 48183. [email protected]
  12. 2004 banshee completely stock engine and pipes. Only power mod is a K&N air filter with modded air box. Bike wont start at all unless I flip it up on the grab bar with the gas on then flip it back down. It runs great after I get it started. To me that sounds like it would have to be a float problem. How do I adjust the floats?
  13. I use amsoil 0w40 in the tranny and dont slip Ive used amsoil interceptor for 5 years and only had to change my plugs once. I ride the shit outta my quad too. Houndreds of gallons so far.
  14. Looking for some PT mids. Email me with what you have [email protected]
  15. Thank you, that was driving me insane.
  16. When I click on a thread it shows all the replys from users in a small sub-catagory kinda view and I just want it to show all the posts like it normally does. How do I switch it back?
  17. How long has it been like that? Rotate the crank and see if you can find any rust. If not I say not need for a bottom end rebuild.
