I know all of you will have a billion different opinions on how to do this rebuild.... This is how I did it...

This mod is a bad idea if you have a high hp banshee.
The 99-02 yamaha R6 has a trans with 3 dogs, and some of those bikes (mine included) had problems with the dogs wearing down and the trans slipping because they only had 3 dogs. I later had to replace my 02 r6 trans with a 2004 r6 transmission because it had 6 dogs instead. PITA.
If I ever need to tear into the tranny I will write that up for sure. I just plan on doing those 3 things listed for now.
I lost compression in both cylinders this winter so thats why im doing the top end rebuild.
Im going to be doing a couple how-tos real soon. I was wondering if you guys had pointers or tips for me. Heres what im going to cover.
1. Removing and cleaning the carb
2. Removing Engine from frame
3. Top end rebuild
Im looking for tips like torque specs for the head bolts. Lube the cylinder and bearings before you install them. Use new plugs after a rebuild. Stuff like that. Trying to get a list of stuff to cover for each section.
