  1. you still have the rear brake cover and the throttle cover ?
  2. Is that throttle in good shape internally ? Still moves smoothly ? What year bike did it come from ?
  3. Are the boots on those intakes in good shape?
  4. Here are a couple of mine.
  5. I agree ^^^^^^^^ Get yourself a set of dial calipers that has a depth rod on it. Call a builder and they will tell you what to measure to find the current port timing. They will tell you if they can get it ported properly for the 4mil crank. Then you can decide how to go from there. There are plenty of builders here on this site that will be willing to help you out with this.

    Thumb throttle

Looking for a decent aftermarket thumb throttle. No stockers please.
  7. I guess March and April both sound pretty good to me. Maybe even thet May trip too ! LOL
  8. Are you talking March or April ?
  9. I dont think anyone would trade it for a banshee unless the banshee is all screwed up. If it runs good it would probably be fun to ride. I had an 85 Tecate ATC that was ported and piped. It was pretty fast and fun to ride, but it didn't even compare to a piped banshee and was alot lighter. There are alot of Kawi guys out there that would probably like to have it tho.
  10. Yeah. The real key to required octane rating is the compression ratio. Alot more goes into figuring the compression ratio than just static compression, however I believe that with any more than 155-160 psi I would run race gas to be safe. Check this thread out
  11. Those bolts yield after a few times being torqued. I had one break on me before reaching the proper torque last time I was into mine. DO NOT use any of those used bolts when puting it back together !! Get all new ones.
  12. If the octane is too low it will cause detonation. Detonation will eat holes in the top of the piston. It's up to you if you want to chance that or not. Mixing 50/50 of the 93 and 110 will net approx. 101.5 octane. That may not be enough octane. You will have to check the compression to find out tho.
  13. Greg, You still stuck in Japan ?? Sux. Bet there aint much room to open the shee up there huh ?
  14. Hell yeah !!! Go ahead and get it. It will increase your hp by about 10 !! BTW, Michael's cutoff is 15 but there are plenty others here that can go 18.
  15. Call Kevin. He will explain all of this stuff to you and give you the best reccomendations for what works best with his port work. He is very patient and will take the time to help you understand whats going on. He will also have modded domes ready to go. You wont have to cut any yourself.
  16. Sorry, didn't notice your other post.
  17. You gotta give some more info. Where are you located ? (temp. and elevation) What pipes are you running ? What kind of air cleaner are you running ? Nobody can help w/o that info.
  18. Yeah looks like the TORS plug to me.
  19. Coolhaed and domes are a great idea. Adjustable timing plate is an awesome upgrade as well. The most common after market piston is the Wiseco piston. Not sure how big they make for stock cylinders, but personally I would not bore stock jugs more than .080 over. Dont try porting it yourself. Call any of the engine builders on here and they will hook you up with a port job that will suit your riding style. Jim at PRE, Jeff at FAST, and Kevin at HJR are all great guys to deal with. You can buy all the rebuild parts you need from any of those guys. Good luck and welcome to the HQ !!
  20. Just dont get one thats too long or it will feel awkward to get it to WOT.
  21. Btw, The only times I ever got fucked buying parts was from douchebags on Planed Sand ! 2 purchases.................. Fucked both times !! So why dont you shut the fuck up about how cool it is there. If you like it so much over there then stay there !!
  22. If it runs good on 87 why don't you just use that ? There is nothing macho about using a higher octane rating than you need. It can actually hurt your performance. Tho I dont believe that 100 octane will hurt anything but your wallet.
  23. Fuel slowly loses its octane level ? Never heard of that before. I have always noticed that it becomes slower burning and slower igniting. It loses it's light ends over time. I am not saying he doesn't have a detonation problem, just not convinced that old fuel is the reason.
  24. Maybe it was on COPS !
