  1. dune port. Alot of top end, decent mid-range power... ported by Louisiana Cycles.
  2. This is a 66mm bore 4mil topend with approximately 20 hours on it total. I bought it used from a guy who had run it all of 4 hours. I installed it and ran it for about 15 hours more. There is a small amount of corrosion in the cylinder wall at the top of one side (seems like about .002/.003 deep). I was skeptical of this topend because of that at first, but it did not pose a problem as the topend tested at 152 lbs (evenly-both sides) after its first weekend trip to the dunes and it ran very strong, and as you can see from the pics, I had it set up very rich. I was misled by the seller when I bought this topend so I bought another topend from Bansh-eman around the same time. It is more agressively ported and is stock bore so I am going to use it instead of this one. It is ported for 4mil crank and runs strong. Included in the package are pistons, rings, wrist pins, wrist pin bearings, and 20cc domes. (wrist pins and bearings were new when I installed them) The pistons are 66mm Weisco pistons for Blaster. The domes are relieved for Blaster piston/4mil combo. No cylinder base spacer needed. I paid $375 for this topend. I will ship to lower 48 for $275.......my loss is your gain !
  3. hey man, nice to see youre making some progress with it. when you say 2nd clip position, is that 2nd from the blunt end or 2nd from the point end ?? nothing wrong with the bike that wasn't wrong before......i am sure of that. you just need to finish the jetting. what needles are you using now?
  4. i dont have a problem with mine, but i have not had it long.
  5. try rockymountainatv.com i got mine there....cheap.
  6. brian

    coolhead

i have an extra coolhead if you still need it
  7. no eddy spells that way on purpose. it is some wierd "im" language that alot of the teens are using. he can spell correctly if he wants to. we have all seen it. he is just having fun with us.
  8. i got them used and in a package deal with some other parts. i think they worked out to be around $275. you can get new ones for $400-430 average. not directly from marvin shaw tho. google search marvin shaw coil overs.
  9. that part is very important ! it is called a dowel pin (even though it is more like a sleeve) there should be two for each cylinder !! look here follow that link. you can even get the part number and name so you can call the stealership and find out if they got it before you head on down there. just select year, then model, then cylinders, find the parts and add them to the cart, view cart and the part #s will be there.
  10. looks like about 3 hours for me. that place looks pretty cool. i'd probably go there with you. just gotta get my motor back together. probably another month or so. send me a pm whenever you want to try to plan going and we'll have to work something out.
  11. too bad youre all the way in texas. i'd go ride with ya. sounds like youre a real good kid. i'm sure your dad knows that !! don't be too hard on him. life's pretty tough and he's probly got alot of things on his mind. anyway, it sounds like riding isn't his bag. besides, he did take the time to show you how to use that clutch. now you have that banshee to rip around on. if youre ever heading up to oklahoma (like a trip to little sahara) let me know. i'm sure that we could get a couple other bhq guys together for a ride there.
  12. yeah, i would start around 330. you'll probably work down from there without all the extra porting. yes. the pilot is the one you need a small flathead driver for. i have not seen the toomey jets before, so i don't really know. i dont think they include pilots tho. it's really crazy that they are not marked. i usually just buy a few different sizes of what i'll need from a local shop. you could call Jeff at FAST and explain what your doing and he will help you with the range of sizes he thinks you'll need.
  13. as long as the longer jet fits all the way in the port i can't really see there being a big deal there. it is a slow jet, and the hole size there seems the only really important thing there. i think you'll be ok with them.
  14. thats a 300ex with race plastics. it's the bike he started out on 3 yrs ago. i can't afford another banshee yet. well, the wife says our relationship cant afford another banshee. lol but i'll get her broke in yet. the main tube is in the middle (also called the emulsion tube). it is what the main jet screws into, and where the needle rides. where are you located ? air temp ? i think i have a crossover tube layin around somewhere. if i find it you can have it. i'll look tomorrow.
  15. sorry, i meant why you "are" paying someone else. oops
  16. looks like an old polaroid picture. lol
  17. hey, that ice riding sounds like a blast ! my uncles used to ice race motorcycles when i was little. i always wanted to do that.
  18. and....... oh yeah, pitch that boost bottle in the f'n trash can.
  19. the pilot is down in that small port right in front of the main tube. and yes, the size is stamped on them. man, youre adding alot of motor to those stock carbs. i assume it is a 4mil stroker.....yes? your sig says nothing about the porting you will be needing to go along with that crank. or the coolhead and stroker cut domes you'll need as well. assuming that you are planning all of those mods, you probably wont be able to flow enough thru those carbs to get all of the potential out of that new motor. you'll probably need to step up to 33mm carbs. if not changing the carbs youll probably need to start with your mains at 340-350 and the needle at 4th groove. not sure about the pilot. probably two-three sizes larger tho.
  20. I think he was asking why youre not paying someone to do it instead of putting the simple stuff on yourself.
  21. everybody wants a good deal !! hey NYC, if you include the wheels, front and rear, i'll let you ship them to me for $100 but you have to pay with money order, no personal checks ! LOL
  22. maybe worth a try i guess, but there are alot of pipe builders out there. i'm sure that at least one(if not more) has tried that and many other things for two strokes that just didn't make that much difference. the expansion chambers are the key to performance on a two stroke. like dave said.......probably wouldn't really even matter beyond them.
  23. look at "bansh-eman's" sig picture click here this is a little crude, but at the same time it shows how the two stroke engine runs. on the left hand side is the carb. look where the air/fuel charge goes into the cylinder. some goes in the bottom and some in the top. the charge that goes in the bottom gets transferred to the top thru the "transfer ports". after (most of) the charge in the top is burned it goes out the exhaust port and into the pipe. the only valve there is the reed valve. it opens to let the charge in and closes to keep it in. very simply put, when a cylinder is ported, the intake, transfer, and exhaust ports are modified to make the charge larger and flow better. when a cylinder is bored over, the size of the piston (and the bore it is in) is made a little bigger. this is usually only to refresh the topend (make the rings seal better for compression) and generally has very little effect on performance on these small engines.
  24. i have a nice set of sandstar paddles mounted on douglas blue lables for the rear. 150+ship pm me if interested.
