No you don't have to split the cases. I found with mine that it was easier to slide the shift shaft out to get the seal out. I also already had the clutch cover off and all fluids drained so that made it even easier. I couldn't seem to get anything in to pull the old seal out w/ the shaft in.
I looked at the package yesterday and it's 2 Moose levers. 1 for brake and 1 for clutch obviously. I'd like to sell both for $30 shipped. PM me if you want 'em.
I dunno how the hell I missed this the 1st time but of course I'm in. It's at the most a 3 hour drive for me.
And if you've never been at LS in August it's F'IN hot. There's is some shade near where most of the guys drag tho so that could be helpful. Let me know and I'll do what I can since I'm in OK.
I'd say you've got a chance if you can get traction (yes they'll i've seen 'shees spin all over concrete and asphalt) and if you don't run out of gear.
What year is your truck? If it's a '00-up 2500 I wouldnt run glasspacks unless you want alot of resonance. Those trucks have alot of problems with resonance.
Long story, paypal F'd up with my payment to the guy so I'm still waiting to get my money back from them so I can transfer the money over to the guy. In short, I haven't even paid for 'em yet....
I think if you got a good sound bike, and since you said you don't mind a little maintenance you would hardly ever be workin on it if you didn't want to...but what's the fun in not blowin stuff up?
I had some PC'd on my 400ex and they held up well until I went to ride at an area with rocky trails and somehow gouged one of the rear ones a little bit. Otherwise they seemed to hold up well.
