ya he has rad... i had them when i first got my bike... and theres a reason i no longer have them... the diffrance of the two are apples and oranges... if you can get your hands on some vforce 2's get them but good luck... if not go with the 3's
-
the tors doesnt messure the slide heights... the sensor in the throttle housing detects if your pushing the throttle or not... then the tor housing on top of the carbs detects if the sliders are lifted or not... if the two dont match then the tor control box makes the bike cut out .... it a simple bottom its pushed or not... there is no messureing..

iv never really been a fan of the ironcrosses and skulls and flames and all that... iv always liked the smooth plan finished hardwear..

sorry man but im going to have to disagree with you.. the guiys got 3500 bucks to play with and you want to half ass it and port stock reeds? that makes no scence... get your jugs ported, get you some vf3 reeds, some bigger carbs, a coolhead and domes, pipes to match your riding, a nice clutch, a swinger, and theres a few other small things to go with them... but like i said before you an have a beast of a motor but if you dont have the suspesion to put it to the ground you wasted your time with the motor... im a big fan of do it right the first time... may cost a little more now or you can half ass it and cost alot more later
-
well at sea level i was running 155 on a smaller motor.. soyour going to be close to that maybe one or two sizes smaller
-
thats why theres so many differant style pipes.. some take longer to get the fuel to comeback and re-enter the cylinders thus making it a topend pipe...
-
he was close to what i ment... when i say matched parts.. i mean the other bolt ons to really bring out the power... when you make a bigger motor you have to change other parts to really see an imporvment or else your just choking down a bigger motor... if you have 3500 to spend you can get one nice ass motor... but keep in mind if you dont have a suspension to hold all that power to the ground its pointless... post EVERYTHING you have after market to your bike so far.. from there im sure we can get that thing screamin for under 3500 bones edit: also put what type of riding you plan on doing so we can weed out parts that dont match your riding style...

there was a post that someone dug up on here a few days ago that showed how it worked... think of it like sound wave... a 2 stroke doesnt burn all the fuel.. so the waves hit the expansion chamber and get reflected back into the cylinder right befor it closes and adds that extra power that was lost from the previouse stroke...ill see if i can dug it back up here it is

well theres alot more to it then dropping in a 4mil and gaining amazing speeds... along with it you need porting carbds reed pipes swinger tires .....the list doesnt stop... when you do the bare minumim to accomedate a 4mil crank you gain about 7% over stock... 7% isnt crap... once you get matching parts to wake it up thenyou will see it was worth your while...

the ground to the kill switch makes the spark ground out and kill the bike yes... ex to see if you have like a cr 250 style kill switch... but with the key... its a normal open and closed circut... if you unplug the two caps and leave it like that it should not start... thats why on a banshee you clip the two wires on the bottom half of the plug and splice them together to complete the circut... now the kill switch is a totally differant part that goes into your cdi and grounds it out killing the bike...thats a whole different topic..

well you got two negitives imo... i wouldnt send a bag of shit to trinity... when you say a bore job i assum you mean having it bored to the next size? the power gained from the next bore will so minumal you wouldnt notice a thing... for sure get your motor ported thats the biggest improvment you can do to a banshee is a good port job.. ditch the boost bottle all it is good for is cracking your intake boots. and the same for the reed spacers they do nothing for performance they are to clear the clutch arm when you use bigger carbs... now you asked about 34 carbs once you get porting they will run better but if your stock ported then the carb is too big... keep in mind once you get bigger carbs your going to need new intakes also ...also the degree key isnt as reliable as a stock key and a 35 dollar timing plate...

want shock's but do you's think i need carbs first

id buy normal 35 PWK's not air strykers... but you can have all the power in the world if you dont have a suspension to hold it to the ground its useless... -
Sigh...Another Compression Ratio/Fuel Octane Thread...
Bansh-eman replied to jayzx10r's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
when you do a compression test you should run the bike and warm it up that way you gte a actually compresion for a hot motor... -
if your running 25:1 your allready rich on oil.. by going bigger on your jet your only going to go even more rich...runs 32:1 - 36:1 and you will be fine... at 24:1 your going to have oil dripping from your tips
-
yup everyone tht has them has to shim the left pipe so it doesnt rub... so dot feel bad your not the only one...
-
thats the stuff but theres a differant word i was looking for... but at least you got my point

hey jay... not sure what part of san d your from or where you ride... but out the 8 in el cajon theres 2 gas stations i get gas at... one is right off muleson... thats not how you spell it but i cant member what it is... anyways if your going 8 east its right after the 67 on the right side... they sell race gas , its like 6 bucks a gallon... or you can go 67 north like one exit and on the left side theres a soco station. they are a little harder to get to and you have to have a mebership to get their gas but its free.. both sell vp but the one on muleson runs out sometime... and you can buy drums at the soco place... either way id run 50/50 in your bike... -
to be honest you can run most any oil in your tranny... as long as it doesnt have the.... ummm... damnit i went blank what the word is im looking for... the shit for anti friction... anyways as long as it doesnt have that most of the time you can run it...

if you put a tire thats say 20x10x8 ... the 8 is what size rim it fits... so if you go to like a 10 inch rim your going to strech the tire out and your riding more on the side walls.. pretty much any tire will fit on any rims thats remotly close to the size.. for say oval track you get a skinny tire and strech it some to have more rool in the tires going into corners.. but in drag you want the tire to strach outwards so you get a tall skinny tire wth matching rims and when you pin it they stretch ....so the first number is how tall from ground up... the second is how wide... and the 3rd is rim size... edit" keep in mind tire size can act ike gearing.. if you make too much of a change your messing with how much bottom or top end you got ...

a silicon based gasket isnt the best idea to run under your jugs... if you dont evenly spread it out your taking a chance that the weka spot will blow out and leak once there is some pressure on it... my big thing is people that half ass it to save a little now will end up paying more later... do it right the first time and be done with it

the problem with paypal is its is very ez to retract your money after your shit has been sent out... iv had it happen more then once... also ifyou cash the money order at your own bank and its fake you get charge fee becasue someother fuker is a lieing basterd... -
it doesnt run edit: theres many differant ways of a motor being "blown" discribe yours and we can help you determine...

well today i got my fake cashiers check for the basterd that bid on my swing arm... first thing when i took it out of the envelope was scrub it down and find the flaws... seems the paper used is the real deal from the bank printed... so i got online and tracked down the banks info... to my amazment there really was a bank .... so i got on the Better Business Bureau website and checked it out and its actually a well established bank.. so i call the bank and have them verify the fake.. well not to my suprise it was just that a fake...so i aske dif they needed me to send them the fake so they can do an investigation on it... i was told there is nothign they can do but to call the police or the fbi... so i called the local san diego police and they gave me the number to the postal inspector, the thing was sent from somewhere in the UK so now its in there hands, but go figure the basterds are off work 15 min before i call them... so monday im going on ship for 3 days... when i get back im going to take it to the inspectors and im also contacting the fbi... on a side note to my EXTREME amazment... i w3as slelling some appliances on craigs list and i got some fuker that sent me the exact same scam.. so i told him off and i havent heard back from him.... ill keep you guys updated if i get any more info... so you kids that think oh fuk it im going to cash the thing and pocket the money.... it doesnt work that way not only will the bank come after you fot the amount they gave you but you have to pay extra becsue it bounced...
