your some what correct... advancing your timing give you more bottom end and retarding it more top... thing is having it adv +5 isnt what casueing you not run out of power... its more then likely your pipes or you gearing... jetting wont make you run out of power it will just not run right and cut out... but to feel like you hit a plain and it stops pulling is pipes or gearing

which tank? 4 gal or 5.6? the IMS tank is more common youmight have better results looking for one of those...
-
i personally run normal unleaded race gas.... but i know of a few guys that run av gas... they have no problems... just run good ratios and you shoul dbe fine... 100 oct is cutting it close.. if you got a place to buy some 110 youd be safer...
-
well if your just riding for fun then you dont really need to squeeze out every small amount of power there is... just get your self a nice port job and bolt on mods and your motor will do more then you need it to..
-
dosent matter that its a small engin.. my old man built our motor when we raced gokarts.. and he blueprinted them... small displacement or not if your in it to win you do what it takes...regaurdless how small the performance gain is...

id have to say this is one of the stuipest straight foward statments made... you cant say that one specific brand sucks in every motor you saw... you mean to tell me that you have never seen any weisco pistons not break? im sorry brother but im pulling the bullshit flag on that one... the only piston i can hands down say isnt worth getting is the vitos super stock... for the fact that the exhaust side being cut has hung on a several guys and ruined their motors...but thats not because its cast or forged thats because the cuts made on the pistons... weisco is a proven company like it or not... they have been around and have been proven on many differant applicatons on and off the tracks... from go karts to dirt bike and into hotrods... thing is like Banchetta said you have to take better care of them... knowing they need more time to break in and heat up before ripping off to ride... its as simple as starting your bike and letting it idle while you get dressed... so what the big deal that it takes longer to warm up? having a pistion that holds up to higher rpms that takes a little longer to warm up to ride on is well worth it in my book

60 thou is a little much... your squish is going to be too tight if you just deck the head 60 thou... 20 or 30 and you should still be able to run pump gas... the timing plate goes under you stator so you have to remove the flywheel and stator... mount the stator to th new plate and bolt it back up... and timing plate you can set to advance the timing or retard it... advanceing it give you more bottom end and retarding it more top... and the PWK is a model carb by Keihin sp?

Removing Front Hubs From Spindles
Bansh-eman replied to Bansh-eman's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
if your hub needs an air chisle you got bigger issues lol.... normally you can just tap the back of it and it pops off... ill try flipping it and slamming it on a board see if that works.. i hope so casue i really dont feel like buying a puller to use for this... -
ok so normally you can just tap the back of the spindle with a ruber hammer to break it loose... but the hubs dont want to move... what have you guys been successful with? dont have a puller was wondering if you guys got some good ways to do it minus the puller... if not sears i guess willbe on my "todo" list tomorrow
-
what did you use to cut the head off the bolt with? grinder or you use a saw? looks like mines no moving... my tie rod ends popped out today but that upper a arm isnt giving in
-
mikes a good guy... ez to talk to very knowledgeable ...and will do anything to help a brother out...
-
yea all mine where good... this is the one and only bolt that is stuck on my bike... i have a feeling im going tohave to bend the tab ou some and cut the head off and wiggle the arm out... once i get it out no biggy ill buy another sleeve and bolt just dont like the idea of bending that tab...
-
i dig the bottom one more... but i dont like the text at the top the repair and performance thing... would look cleaner with out that part imo...
-
i put my tie rods back on and tried putting pressure on the ends to loosen them but they arnt moving... fukin odd that when you want them to go in they fall out and when you want them to come out they get stuck... im not too worried about the tie rod ends ill get those out.. im more worried bout the fukin upper a arm bolt... theres no room to squeeze a blade in there to cut mine off....
-
you cant use a press when it attached to your frame bro...
-
im not in a rush... i might not need them if i canget this fuker out... but if not the bikes apart right now to get redone...
-
Looking for one upper a arm bolt and instert... also looking for a set of new dust covers for top and bottom a arms...
-
im having the same issue with my top right a arm bolt... everything thig else is off the bike... this one bolt is keeping the frame from going to PC... i might end up just cutting it and punching the thing out and just getting a new steel instert and bolt and calling it... you guys know what the bolt and instert go for? oh and im having hell getting all 4 of my tie rod ends out... those fukers do the exact opposite that ou want... when i was putting them in they wouldnt stay... now that they are in i cant get them out lol...and i dont have patience for this shit...
-
yes ever surface should have a gasket on it to prevent it from leaking... gaskets can be bought at any bike shop for a fwe bucks..
-

What domes you guys running with the 421 cubs?
Bansh-eman replied to Lethaface's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
as long as you have the right squish you should be good 175 lbs is very common... and at an alt of 2k should be good... i know for sure 110 oct with 175 lbs is fine... im at sea lvl but im going with either 18 or 19 domes in this build...
