  1. shocks are what your going to need. but what sucks if you buy them for a stock bike then later you get a longer swinger and longer a arms your going to need to have them revalved and its not cheap.
  2. if you plan on doing a stroker dont have your jugs ported until you are ready. they need to be ported for the extra stroke. theres alot of things you can do to get more power out of that motor. porting will by far give you the most power dollar of rdollar then any mod. get a new head and raise your compression timing plate porting crank pipes carbs reeds lighten the frame keep in mind if you dont have a suspension to hold all that power to the ground it wont matter, and your suspension is probly the most expensive thing to get . along with the new power your going to need a clutch that can handle it. with a new clutch comes worse shifting (in most cases) so your going to want mods to ease that some. possible lockup and over ride tranny. cdi , and coil ... the list is endless. depends what kind of riding you want to do and how much you can spend. just make sure you get the parts that compliment each other. getting a drag pipe and a trail port defeats one another... so make sure you do your research before you start buying shit.
  3. ^^^Ditto^^^ are you reffering to this auction? Link For for 100 dollars more you can get a hotrods stroker crank. Now keep in mind there ALOT more to do when making a stroker then just dropping in crank and pistons. Any particular reason why your looking at a new crank? if your just rebulding a stock motor to be stock again buy a used crank off someone, you can grab one with low hours for like 75 bucks most of the time. edit: forgot to say either way you go look into welding the crank.
  4. which needle are you running? stock carbs too right?
  5. if you can look at the gears and tell the ratio your a sutd!
  6. doesnt matter
  7. its FRZ 1000 fibers and stock steels i believe.
  8. do you know what kind of pistons ytou have in there? if they are weisco they should have a code on the top. the last numbers with the . in it will tell you what size they are. or you can get a digital caliper from harbor frieght for like 30 bucks and mesure it
  9. i dont know of any tires that use tubes. they really arnt a good idea casue they pop very ez when you jump things... if your running stock tires im sure you can find someone that has one laying around they will sell you for cheap...
  10. as far as wear and tear the crank will have the same life span as before , only now you dont have to worry about the thing seperating.
  11. yea but what size tubing is what im looking for...
  12. you can always just wire brush it your self lol
  13. so you would give up your car and banshee to get a new banshee thats the exact same thing? humm sounds like a good deal to anyone in canada that can get this guy one
  14. i think that might have been copied from the site i was looking for. if i remeber correctly that sound exactly what i read before... only differance was the picts on the site to go with the explanations edit: actually after reading it thats not the one i was thinking of....
  15. so your saying take a fresh cylinder and bore it out to the max of .100 over to get gains to beat a 4 stroke? if so your a god damn fool. thats the worst advice iv heard in a long time! there is plenty of other thing you can do to that motor without killing the life of it to get a bigger piston in there. edit: oh and that makes it a 382 not a 402
  16. Boss, Modquad, White Knuckle, and Majic Racing. all those are good intakes and will do what you need. plus they all have built in crossovers.
  17. what size tubing does Lonestar make thier swingers with? I looked on thier site but it doesnt say
  18. look in the yellow pages and fnd some small name motorcyle shops, i found a guy thats like 2 miles from where i live and he reffered me to some dude he uses. i want to say the guy will do both for like 35 bucks. maybe you can find the same thing up there
  19. yea its that mikronite company... thats the name of the company and the process used... they teamed up with crane to promote both companies better. i cant remember where i saw it at but you can send your parts to get done as long as thy are new. the price isnt all that bad either, i want to say it was like 350 bucks for a crank to a V8 if i remember correctly
  20. break lines are break lines... just get the right length... yamaha uses one style on pretty much every bike they make.
  21. you made a loop and pulled outwards and it slipped right off? thats odd that you couldnt tap it and break it loose but the wire pulled it off lo.. oh well at least its off now
  22. you probly dont need to get behind it... just hit it around the edges and on th front and jar it loose
  23. man im having a bitch of a time fining the thing that explains it... ill keep looking to see if i can find it but basically what snop said its all about the diam's and the lengths and cone tapers at the locations as well as how aggressive the bend are and all that... ill keep looking hopfully ill find it again EDIT: here is a small reading but this isnt the one im looking for Link
  24. the +4 is fine for your motor... i had a +4 last year and you can dune the shit out of it and hit the hills fine... you can jump but nothing big... only small things.. make sure you revavle for the extra length or you will case the shit out of that thing
