  1. We let it idle for about 2 min. the 1st one. The next 2 were longer in duration for a total of 3 cycle. We then re-checked the torques. The 1st actual run is a medium part throttle run. After that, we run it like we race it. We continue to check the torques cold until everything takes a set.
  2. Can you share the dyno numbers & was it on gas or Alky? We always focus on the overall set-up. No plans to put this motor on the dyno, not saying I will not, but its not our priority. Thanks for wishing luck!
  3. To heat cycle the motor.
  4. Hey, thanks for the interest. We are planning on Gilbert & I just found out Angel found a jockey for our ride in limited 650 & under class. I hope to be at the event for a couple of days to tune myself very well on the Don Q. I am the white Puerto Rican, or as Angel puts it, the Cheerleader!
  5. We have no idea, the numbers I heard for K&T's same motor seem really high. We are on race gas, so I would probably say 130 hp. Who knows, the K&T motor does have the record for the class.
  6. It didn't add a lot, but added to the information already given in this thread. There will be about a 40 lb. weight savings from old to new. AKA 1700camaro Stock frame, 443 Cub on race gas. 1/8 & 1/4 mile asphalt & 300' sand.
  7. We are looking forward to tuning this whole new set-up. This will be my Sons second time on 300' & 1st time with the rigid/new motor. If we was in our stock chassis. I was going to make him do a hard launch & then half throttle down the track. That has got us into trouble before. So, maybe this new chassis is a blessing. The owner of the new chassis, said it will race like a Cadillac & actually be boring. My son wants to make the 1st pass all out, within reason. Regardless, I'll provide the 1st 3 time slips for this exercise; good, bad or whatever. I will also provide the drinking results for Fouledout. I hope to come out with 3 decent 1st runs, with no major issues. Then fine tune from there. Thanks for the words of encouragement
  8. The set-up is in my signature. One of the runs was with a 180 lb. rider, the other 2 were with me at 210lbs.
  9. Right or wrong, I followed what K&T said & I heat cycled the DMX.
  10. I'm sure we'll start with a gallon of Don Q Rum, but not many beers. I would venture to say, start predicting red cups. Either way it's a fucked up mess.
  11. Bakersfield & anything can happen with a new motor/chassis combo.
  12. No, the software/cable is separate, I think around $100. Then I had to buy a usb cable also.
  13. We make our own.
  14. We run both, Dyna cdi/coil & have no complaints other than the customer service, SUCKS!
  15. More information: our 1st three runs on our 1st time at 300', averaged a 3.97. That was with a lot less of a machine.
  16. LOL, Not me riding it! Don't delete, that's funny & it's a prediction now.
  17. LILSTVN, delete both post. They aren't a factor & have no prediction.
  18. I like the honesty/no BS prediction! We have been tuning on the carb/clutch in the testing portion. We will see how good I think I am or not with the 1st 3 slips. I like the HQ Circus Pass Time Deal.
  19. That's going back a few years, just let it go! LOL! You guys get the 1st three passes regardless how they go. I'm sure that can be twisted to your liking. I don't know what this thing is going to do, but I thought this was a different twist from the 2009 challenge. I could have asked the cookie cutter question. What do you think my set-up makes for power? Without taking it to the Dyno or even planning too.
  20. Did I mention a prize, bragging rights in the HQ Circus.
  21. That might be the best predictor, LOL!
  22. Average of the 1st three passes on the track.
  23. My son has only raced the stock frame also, the rigid will be new to him.
  24. You didn't stray far from my prediction.
