Im from illinois, you dont have to have a title. I buy tons of crap with just reciepts and bills of sales. But if you pay to get a title, you should have no problem turning a bill of sale or dealer receipt. Its like 80 bucks including tax which you will have to pay. But there is no need for a title, its a waste of money anyways. i have 6 various ohv's with no titles right now.

Crank and Piston Question/quotes please
IROOST1 replied to IROOST1's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I figured it out, i emailed everywhere and got my answers. The crank is a standard hot rods crank. and the pistons are custom vitos power pistons. Thank god for great customer service or i would have never figured it out. -
im waiting to hear back about my crank from the shop. but i am still interested your crank.

Find your local stock car track and ask the guys where they get theres. I run 110 leaded race fuel in my decked out yz250 since i must with my motor. And im usually fillin up on the way out to trails on friday with all the stock car guys. Its at the pump for 4 bucks. Or you can find a high performance engine builder and can get a five gallon drum for about 43 bucks. Just call around to anyplace that builds high performance anything.

Thats what i fugured. I will take it out once i get done rebuilding my 01. (seems like bearings go out a lot on the shee's). But why in the world can i find these pistons in the wiseco book or online and why would one say 43mm and one say 42mm????? But the bore is the same. I guess ill just take out the crank and leave the top end alone. -
Crank and Piston Question/quotes please

OK, heres more #'s for you all. 9439 on both then 65 on both, but the last #'s change. One says 43MM and the other says 42MM. It beats the hell out of me why they did that. Also, i cant find those #'s anywhere online. -
I bought a shee in peices and got ripped off in many ways. I just finally went into the motor to check it out. It has oversized carbs and a cool head with med compression domes. He said the top end was fresh and it wasnt too bad when i took it apart but i cant figure whats up with the crank and pistons. They look nothing like the other pistons from a stock shee i just rebuilt. The pistons are wiseco i think, but the #'s are A62D0 and the other one is A62E0? Does anyone know what size they are? And the rods say hot rods and the # ck 121 is stamped on the side. Are they stock length? The crank doesnt feel right. I can feel the bearings as i hand turn the crank. It kind of jumps from one bearing to the next(as best i can describe it) What should i do? Should i just put a stock low hour crank in if its stock length rods? Or should i have new bearings put in the hot rod crank. Also, what would it cost me to have new bearings put in and have it welded? And where can i have it done around northern illinois? Please Help!!!

Yeah, my job sucks balls too. But most jobs i have had i dread mondays. One job i had was good though. They let me take off at noon every wednesday to go to the racetrack. But then my job was outsourced to some damn country that starts with a p.

I have a 95 banshee and i need a cdi box and have been looking around and it says the 95 year and 96 is different than the 97+ years. What would be the difference. Its all the same motor isnt it? Whats the most that would happen if i put a newer one in?

Who knows where I can get one?????????????

You COULD always put it in a box, duct tape it shut, and chuck it in a pond... -
I keep reading that i should buy an ebay crank because they are cheap. Then i hear that the hot rod cranks weld cracks, so what the point. And im not going to pay more 200 buck just for parts for new bearings, seals, and rods/bearings not including labor to have them put on the stocker. So whats the cheapest and best way to go>>>......................................

Sorry, i mean like 50 shipped for nerfs and 40 for a cdi for a 95', cheap cheap

i may be getting scammed on ebay for a banshee head.
IROOST1 replied to csrmel's topic in General Banshee Discussion
i sell a lot of stuff on ebay and you can set it up that the tracking # is automatically replied. I know when i sell stuff, i have it pre boxed and weight so as soon as they pay, it ships. Also, i got a deal too on ebay. I bid 1.00 on brand new stock pipes and it had free shipping. Well, no one else bid so i got them. He actually sent them too me too. for 1.00. The ebay fees alone had to be more than that. Deals are deals. Good luck with the head. -
I guess I have to replace the crank bearings on my 01 motor. It sucked sand. What do I need to do to get it out of the cases. Is it hard. And what do I all need to buy to replace. Gaskets, crank bearings and seals, Do I need rod bearings. Let me know. I have never done a banshee crank before. how much should I expect to pay to have the bearing pressed in? OR should I just buy a new complete crank on ebay. Its 250 plus shippin. Which would be cheaper. Any help would be appreciated.

Most likely i would take the motor out and pull the cyls off and have a shop do everything. But i dont want to if i dont have too...

I bought an 01 motor from a guy and it was siezed up. I only paid 150 bucks so it was a deal. He was a duner and his intake mainifold cracked and he sucked sand into the motor and it siezed up. When i pulled it apart the left side piston was siezed so i had eric gorr bore em and clean the cylinder up. And I put new pistons and reeds, and new maifolds in. But the crank was gritty. So i took a couple cans of lube and a gallon of gas and cleaned out the crank. When i was done there was nothing left gritty. And the bottom of the cases i could see were perfect clean. The rods moved fine by hand and the side to side clearance were good, there was no up and down movement on the rods and I checked everything over. Well, today i finally started it up and it sounds good. My question is, how long do i have before i should replace the crank bearings. This was a low budget project and i want to keep it that way. But I also want to ride it for a few months before i sell it. How hard is it to replace them. What problems should i look for as indicators of them going. SAND SUCKS
