I agree, compression test check everything above the rings and the rings itself. Leak down would check the lower end seals and gaskets. I would check the reed seal on the low side. I also would check the air screw adjustment. If you screw it in and that helps then you are lean and need to check the pilot jet may be dirty or the pilot jets are too small.

I have a set of yfz450 a-arms that have been made to fit the banshee. I have only the arms and nothing else. $150 for arms "+" shipping of $20. Or make offer. Items are in Oregon near Portland.

It is your chain skipping. The wet sand packs inbetween the chain and sprocket and streches out your chain and can cause it to skip. It can break teeth off the sprocket. A skid plate will help, but it will cause you to get stuck/high centered in the sand more offen.

Looks good. Always nice to get it back together. How do you like your UFO Plasitc? Did it fit ok?

I totally agree! I have run straight 110 in my bike with 165-170psi and +4 timing and when I have it just does not run the greatest. Seems more sluggish. I normaly run 50/50 mix of 110 and 92. My .02 cents

Hey Brian looks like your sand pics are at Winchester Bay! How do you like riding in the trails at the dunes with your new set up? I already have a +4" swing arm and some times in the hole shots it is tight. I worry that if I did this set up It would make me too wide and I could not make it around some trees and stuff with out getting off the bike every time.

I have not been on the site for along time, So let me get this straight. You guys are using YFZ450 upper and lower a-arms and front shocks, and possibly "but don't have too" the spindles and hubs off the YFZ450. All this is making the ride better than stock. Is it making it better than just installing the 450 shocks onto the stock Banshee a-arms? How do they handle jumping after this set up since they are lower to the ground, does it bottom more or less? Good right up and pictures!

I got a swing arm off ebay that looks alot like your guys. I have had mine for 2 or 3 years my buddy bought one too they were $125 for +4. When I installed mine the sleave that goes into the bearings for the swing arm piviot would not go in because to pipe was bent almost 1/8" off! I had on hard time tring to get it to line up finally did but it wears out bearings quick, seals may have something to do with it too. My buddies swing arm kept cracking at the pipe that the shock link hooks too. He welded it up several times and then had to put brackets on it but it still cracked. He finally went out and but a different one. You get what you pay for I guess.

Has anyone got one of these links for the rear suspension? I wonder if it would work good for dune riding. http://www.elkasuspension.com/atv/productsnews.html

Yes I have one of these clutch baskets!!!!!!!!! I was wrong on how many years I have had it. I looked up my invoice and it is dated 1/3/2005. I have had it for 2 years! Time flys when your having fun. :yelrotflmao: There is also a ad for the clutch baskets in the October 2003 issue of Dirtwheels. -
I agree. I love my pt mids! Great low end and mid-range! I have Cascade silencers that will test 88-91 decebles, they are not spark arestors though. I ride only dunes with my shee so don't need them.
-
I love my Paul Turners I can out run my buddy with the same mods on his bike and he has t-5's
-
I have a single 34mm PJ and have had 52 pilot and 205 main with the needle around the middle.
-
I agree with the order that dajogejr has it in. They do not add any hp. They are suppose to help throttle snap just like a boost bottle. Not that it is noticable!
-
Pipes are a good thing. The t-6's are more of a top-end pipe not really a pipe for just screwing around. FMF's gnarly's or Paul Turners are good mid-range all around pipes.

You guys may try alittle bit of silicon on the threads of the screws and nut. Do this so the screws don't come out. Works good.

Rags are good!

Barnett Clutch Basket with Replacable Stainless Steel Inserts

I have a barnett on mine I got it soon after they came out. I like it. I have never had a problem with mine. I have had it for just over 4 years I think... My buddy has one too and has had no problems. -
I agree with that. I did not run the thick head gasket/spacer what ever you want to call it. I got my domes cut for the proper "squish". If you have stock porting it still should work just fine. Your changing the port timing of the cylinders the the 4mil thats the whole idea.
