what worries me, is the 2 of you had those pics somewhere.......makes me wonder

I agree, start w/ the 340 and adjust as needed...I think they might be a little on the rich side, but thats safer than lean!

Sounds like detonation to me.. I had a problem very similar and ended up having a piston catch and stoppin the motor dead in its tracks. It is either caused my a lean condition or improper fuel octane for the motor (I think) or possibly to high on the timing? Might wanna check into those, and the jetting to make sure its on too

Banchetta... PWK 26's? Never seen one of those, not sayin it aint so, just havent seen one. I myself like the small carbs for trail and MX bikes they seem to have better throttle response.
-
Title says it, My cuz has a top goin bad, and wants the bike fixed. Only problem is he is in school w/ no money... So what im needin is a set of tops cheap as possible...Anyone?
-
Banchetta, Was this on a stock port bike? The "ported stock carbs" is that bored stockers ( i dont understand) If so this is very good info for the ppl who believe BIG carbs are a must, when the really arent. I have read this several places, and agree- The stock Banshee carbs are VERY under-rated and perform very well.

Kelsey, Let me start w/ I am not here to flame, or run you or anyone else off, thats not what INFORMATION FORUMS are about...I have no intentions of trying to talk you down or say your heads/domes are better than anyone elses or vica verca, because in all reality it depends on what the consumer likes (IMO) I do want to address a few things I noticed.... This I have to disagree with, alot of the ppl on this forum (along w/ others) HAVE noticed power increases after installing any aftermarket head along w/ domes. Of course this is along w/ the cooling and looks that comes along w/ it. On a set of cylinders that have had extensive work done to them, this is understandable- each and every thing that has been done to them has to be taken into consideration. But alot of times, ppl want to help cooling/looks/performance of STOCK cylinders. I think this is where alot of the WHAT SIZE DOME questions are helpfull... I imagine (correct me if I am wrong) most of the "standard" domes availible w/ aftermarket heads were designed to use on stock cylinders... This is not sayin that a set of "standard" domes are better or worse than "custom" domes, but for stock cylinders the standard would do just fine. Can we agree on that? I was not in this discussion a few months back, I actually avoided it like the plage (sp?) At the time I was selling aftermarket heads, and chose to stay out of the arguements... I am no longer sellin them due to lack of time, my other buisness takes most of my attention. You are quite welcome for the civial responses, and thank you for doin the same. Like I have stated several times, I and not here to bash or flame, just learn more and help others learn. Please excuse me if it seems that I am targeting you (or anyone else) with my questions or comments, I feel questions/comments help bring out more information. -Jason

Justin, Is the problem at idle, or thru the revs? Is the side w/ the nick the one thats colder? If so, it is probably lettin more fuel thru, and possibly fouling the plug.... If this is the case, its no problem, I have another set if you need them- or you can go w/ V-Force like you have planned. As feelin stupid for doing it yourself, atleast you gave it a try, right? Keep us posted

Kelsey, No flaming form me, like I said, you do have valid points. I am not here to run you off, your opinions are just as important as the next guy. The only thing that does get my attention when this topic comes up is, most of the ppl that ask for domes size we answer correctly. The domes size is usually just a general answer, based on mods, elevation etc etc, not porting specs- This method has proven itself to work time and time again, has it not? It has been done for years.... Please do teach us more, as we all love to learn something new... 94BansheeRider, IMHO stands for - In My Hoest Opinion

David, We all know you are here to help, and u have NUMEROUS times! I cant thank you enough for all the help u have given when someone is interested in a new head, or dome selection. The way you select domes works very well for the every day rider, and even race bikes. I run your domes in my Drag bike and will continue to do so... Kelsey does have very good points, but not everyone on the site is lookin to build the highest HP motor possible. Alot of ppl just want a little more power, not every ounce they can squeeze out of them. Like I said, thank you David for your help, I hope u continue to offer your advice and services.

Trinity Pistons Vs. Vitos Pistons
Screamin_Banshee replied to Toomey Banshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Vitos pistons are not moddified after Wiseco makes them. Vito's has Wiseco make them to their specs. I personally would not trust moddified pistons... -
this was posted once already LOL, this post is all to true.

If the plug was loose, then u found your problem. Tightn it up, and problem solved.

What ratio do you mix the Super M at? I mix it at 32:1 and have alot of oil pouring out the back of both silencers. The bike runs awesome and the plugs look great, just alot of left over oil. Thanks. In the gas bikes we usually mixed at 40:1, have gone as far as 50:1 with no noticable side affects. I preffer a little more oil than really needed, just for the safety factor. I would rather clean a little oil off the pipes, then rebuild the engine. Justin, if it was me I would ask the builder ( I think he gave his input allready) a couple of oils that he suggests to use. Try them and find the one that my motor and I both agree on. I would then run that one like its goin out of style... The thread here is one of those personal prefference threads, kinda like which pipes are better...Everyone has there own opinion on which is better and why.
