Some say they help w/ the low-end problem clamp ons create...
I use them on my drag bike, mainly to help correct the air flow turbulence that clamp ons create.
Dont take offense bud, its just kinda the way things work around here...most newbies get flamed and messed with. If they stick around things usually calm down...
Dont take it to heart
Thats the main reason behind the switch...A-arms are stronger. If I remember correct the J-arms were known to bend/warp, one more than the other...but I cant remember.
Alot of drag racers that are restricted to stock chassis' preffer the J-arm bikes since they are lighter.
Jim,
SWEET, Thx for the heads up. Lemme know when they are done, I will get u the shipping addy that I want it all sent to. Just shoot me a pm. Again Thx
Boonman,
I would like a set if its not too much trouble, lemme know.
Jim,
For my application, any reason to run a crossover tube/ boost bottle? Or could I get away w/ runnin plugs?
Boonman, care to make another set of those plugs? Id be interested in some...
U use the seam where the top and bottom cases go together to set your timing. Line up the marks on the plate (at the amount u want) with the seam, and your all set!
Like I said, they are starting points..the +5 should be ok- IF all of your other mods are dialed in w/ jettin and fuel.
93+ octane should be just fine for the +5 as long as your compression doesnt need higher...Listen to your motor and check your plugs often. Let us kow if u have nemore questions.
All shee's came w/ 26mm carbs to my knowledge
If the measure 28mm inside, and have the sticker, they arent stockers. 28's are good carbs, the TM's are flat slides I believe....
Heres my $.02...
First I wouldnt take tha packin out for trail/mx/play riding...ITS WAY TO LOUD. I took the packin out of my T5 silencers, and ran a straight pipe thru the silencer itself..made NO diff in the power it made, or times on the track. Only plus I saw to it was it made it louder so I could hear my bike over the drag pipes.
Like CB67rs1 said, what about drag pipes? they have no silencers, which as most of you are sayin creates the back pressure. On drag pipes silencers do 2 things...one make is quieter and help hold the heat in....The back pressure that is needed is made in the expansion chamber of the pipe.
To set the plate at the selected advance, u use the split in the cases... Just line up the mark on the plate to the point where the cases meet.
The general rule for advancing timing:
+4 for trails
+7 for drag
These arent set in stone, but good starting points.
Guys calm down....4.1 in the 300 foot! Thats slow for amount of HP..plus it leaves the line like a garden tractor
I have seen it run, hes near me, I have raced him several times....Im not sayin its not a clean bike, but for that kinda money YOUR shee would outrun it!!! Hell, I have seen K&T 520's on gas blow by this bike like it wasnt moving....
