  1. Yes, it should be a black rubber coated coil. You should use a gap guage, you can get them at Sears, alternatively you can use a matchbook cover, just spin the flywheel so the notch is right under the pickup coil, and stick the guage or matchbook between the coil and notch on the flywheel, you should be able to remove the gauge or matchbook cover with a little tug, not too tight or too loose. I reccomend the gap guage, it's only like 3 or 4 bucks, but most people use the matchbook cover, you can't really fuck anything up unless the tab hits the coil.
  2. Is it an RS style plate or is it a mofied stocker? On the RS plate, the 0 line should line up with the split in the cases. Make sure you gap the pickup coil right too. It should be .020" if I remember right.
  3. Hey, what's up? I was looking for a stock chain skid in good shape, or an aftermarket aluminum one. Lemme know what ya got,
  4. Ahhh, the Banshee Bible, Washburn is a standup guy! Great price on those too! I'm didn't forget about the review for Buchanon Racing, if I get some time this afternoon I'll write it, I've been catching up on all the sleep I've been missing from plowing.
  5. Yeah, I seen that neighborhood you were crusing around in, If I had 2-3 million worth of real estate, I don't think I'd be living there. Why don't you shut the fuck up, and go jerk off on another forum you fuckin' ass clown.
  6. If anyone wants it for 50 shipped I'll take it off e-bay, otherwise bump!
  7. Ohh yeah, Jeep has made that engine for a long long time now, very rare to see problems on them. They arent so hot on gas, but it is an SUV not a prius. The Jeeps are a little tricky though, people really beat on some of them, and they don't show it so well, so make sure somebody didn't take the thing down the Rubicon trail and back on a stock setup. The newer body style, 95 on, the TJ, has coil springs instead of leafs, so the ride is nicer, and the travel is actually longer. This is when they changed from the square lights back to the round ones. If you can find one at a decent price, get the Rubicon, it's much nicer then the regular Wrangler, front and rear diff locks, and electronic sway bar discos. I don't know if you plan on offroading it or not, but tose are things you will be buying anyway if you do. Not much has really changed for the next generation, the JK, the Jeep got a little longer and wider, along with minor changes, so I'd save the loot and pick up the TJ. That in mind, are you driving it every day? Or is it just going to be an offroader? My family has an old old Jeep CJ7, I drove it a while back, and it was a decent beater, it hasnt run in a while though. A ton of my buddies have Jeeps, some offroad them, some don't, if you are planning on offroading it, obviously it has the best aftermarket support out of any truck. I probably wouldn't pick one up as a daily driver, I think there are nicer, more economical used cars out there. They are basically 2 solid axles, and a cab, the heat never seems to be hot enough, and the AC never seems to be cold enough. The ride is rough, and they arent the safest cars. They do make a nice summer whip, and nothing beats cruising around with no doors or top, but I don't think I'd make that tradeoff. I know a lot of people that do drive them daily though, so to each is own.
  8. Now that I finally got off my lazy ass and became a premium member, I can post here! I hope Waltrip and Vickers kick some ass, I have been a huge Toyota fan in the craftsman truck series, and I hope they show all those Fords, Chevys and Dodges what racing is. Sadly, I think Stewart take it, but I'm still pullin' for the yotas.
  9. Here's a new pic of my 02, it's not as blingin' as everyone elses, but it gets the job done. I put on the new billet grill, PRM bumper, and a cut front I had laying around. We had some nice snow out here, and we rode all day Wednesday, I went through 2 1/2 tanks and that's with the OS tank.
  10. Harbor Freight = Overpiced Flea Market, They sell nothing but junk tools, I tried to save a few bucks from them, and I bought a high-lift knock off jack. It damn near killed me when I tried to use it on my truck, I won't buy anything from those dirt merchants ever again. $20 per wheel? I always knew the dealer doesn't give reacharounds but still? I bring them down to the service station by my house, give the guy $10 cash, and he'll do 4 of them for me. I'd try doing that instead.
  11. Need I say more?
  12. Yeah, sounds like the typical scam to me. I'm not sure what he's buying or where he's from, but Banshee parts are readily availible in other countries, and cheaper then buying and shipping from the US. If he's willing to pay over the cost just for shipping, I'd definately watch out. I just don't sell to any international buyers, the way I see it, is if somebody wants something from me that's overseas, and they arent a scammer, they should tell their beat ass government to stop all that scamming shit. Fuck 'em.
  13. They work, but they are a BEAR to use. The service station down the street from me had one they would leave outside chained up, so in case you needed to change a tire when they were closed you could. I used to change tires by hand, but I gave up after I hurt my back a efw months ago. Make friends with someone at a service station, they have the hydraulic? ones, and they work like a charm.
  14. :yelrotflmao: Just what I was thinking too, everybody's a heckler. I heard that in the vids section, I liked it, might just end up being my next bike.
  15. On e-bay, Item # 330088715222 starting bidof only $20, starts tonight at 8PM.
  16. I don't know why everyone talks about the banshee like it's gonna sneak up on you while your sleeping and beat your ass or something. It kinda reminds me of the guys on the Toyota and Ford truck forums who are afraid to lift their truck because the ride won't be nice. The way I see it, is the Banshee ever gonna be a competetive MX machine without a lot of $$$? No. They aren't the best handling bikes out there either. But they do make sick trails bikes, and have plenty-o-power for hill climbs, wide open sections, and even a little mud. Your gonna have to put in a little work on the bike to make it handle well in the tighter sections though. All this complaining about arm pump this and that, come on, get a good throttle and clutch cable, and lift a few weights. I've ridden my shee on some pretty nasty trails for the past 3 years, and other bikes before that, and if your not tired out after 5-6 hours of riding, then your not doing it right. I've never used an antivibe stem, flex bars or anything on any of my bikes, and I can honestly say, I haven't really noticed a difference in how tired I am at the end of the day no matter what I was riding. FYI, I had a rappy 660, blaster, warrior, and a KFX400. I might buy an anti vibe stem in the future to try out, but my feeling is: your riding a quad, not a Porsche, sure the banshee doesn't handle like a 250R, but it's not like it just stops and throws you off once you get into some trails. Also, on the frame geometry it hasn't been mentioned, the 250R has a rake to the front of the frame, you can see it slopes up. This makes for better distribution of whops and bumps over the entire frame, should do a little something for a smoother ride. I've never gotten to ridea 250 or 450R, I have heard the handling is sick on them though.
  17. Yeah, I've done it before, it's a quick fix, and it should hold you over until you get a new chain. Don't wait too long though or else you'll bee sporting some nice chain whack on youre cases. 1 link should do the trick. Did you ever get that Renthal pad I sent you?
  18. Wow, I think every question has been asked now. And uhhh no, I don't know where you could get one, but people sure would think your crazy.
  19. Might want to add Trinity pipes, Bills pipes(if they still make them), and Rocket pipes. Just a thought, FMF used to make high rev pipes, can't remember the name of them, you still run into them every now and then though.
  20. Nah, they work fine on mostly stock motors. List looks good to me! some pics would be cool to add, I would say fawk the scale, nobody is every gonna agree on it. I didn;t know DG still made the National Pipes, I've never seen a set, or even heard anyone talk about them?
  21. Ohh, that explains it, try babelfish next time, it's a free translation thing. I don't know what you mean by 100 compression ratio, but if the bike is only making 100PSI, you definately need to have that rebuilt, you should be around 125-130PSI.
  22. Check out: http://www.planetsand.com/forums/ubbthread...p;Number=531031 I had the same question when I was looking at them on PlanetSand, and there were some helpful replies there.
  23. TTT don't be afraid to make offers
  24. Definately, the few I looked at around here all had those problems. The problem with the R is that theyare all at least 20 years old now, also, Honda used a square tube style frame. The square tubing is more resistant to bending, but will fatigure easier. That's why the Laeger frames change to the round tubing. The footpeg mounts, motor mounts, and swingarms are the areas that fatigure the easiest. Theyare sick bikes, but for the price they command, I would be a little hesitant. I looked into one a while back, and I looked at a few, and then gave up, for the 3 grand or so people want for them, your half way to a brand new 450R, or some decent used bikes. Just my .02 though.
  25. Thanks, good to know, there isn too much jeting info for 18mm carbs on a mostly stock setup.
