  1. yeah the brush on stuff sucks, even though its suppose to be the same thing stay with the spray. The spray took off all the remaining paint on my frame and swinger, now its going to be blasted then hopefully PC'd. Also when using the spray or brush on for that matter, if you have access to a pressure washer, after letting it sit on there, there is no reason to use a scraper and rag, the pressure washer will strip it right off in a second.

  6. I have no damn clue why a 17t front sprocket was on my bike considering it was bone stock but before I go buy a smaller one was seeing if anyone had any use for it. It is used but still in good condition. No big deal really but I dont plan on using it so if you have a 14t or close to that let me know.
  7. still need the upper bolts guys, got everything else on the way but the bolts so if someone has any let me know.

  12. ANyone have these, had to cut bolts off due to them being seized up to the sleeves. Hopefully someone has a extra cheap set laying around. Could also possibly use dust covers as well for the upper arms
  13. After 3 days of beatin the piss out of this thing all the frozen bolts are out. Talk about a bitch but should be sprayed and put back together this weekend. I just spent the last 2 hrs cleaning up the area so I can get to my other quad if it snows tomorrow. Now my new question is, anyone have any insight on the quickest way to put it back together? I have put several quads back together from being fully disassembled but always took a little bit of time. Where do you guys start first?
  14. did not use heat to bend the tabs, heat will actually weaken them. They only need to be bent a small amount to get the bolt out, just have to go slow. It was a bitch but at least its over with now.
  15. i used a 4" angle grinder with a cutting disc on it. Still a PITA but had no other choice. I'm still hoping I can at least get the old bolts out of the sleeves but I have a feeling thats not going to work either.
  16. got the other side off but had to cut it off again, oh well its done now, but i need new sleeves and bolts, etc. Good news though, I just found out my moms BF does PC at his business he owns. Does it more on the corporate level for bigger things but said he would throw my frame and swinger in next time he does a run. Only have a choice of a few colors but it doesnt bother me. I just need to find someone who can prep it first, he doesnt have the time for that as of now.
  17. I cut off both ends on the outside of the mounts, then you only have to bend the mount a little and it will pop out. Since the bolt was froze to the sleeve already when hitting it with a BFH it was already tweaking the tab a little bit. Looks like whoever assembled it didnt greese the bolt at all. The outside of sleeve was greased heavily through the zerk but not the bolt itself. I'm sure i'll run into more surprises tonight, but at least the whole bike will finally be stripped down. ::
  18. isnt a little over an hour still a fairly decent amount of time to do something like the throttle cover? I dont polish stuff but for something that small to take an hour I could only imagine how long it would take for something like a clutch cover.
  19. well i got the one side off, had to cut both ends of the bolt and bend the a-arm tab out to get it out. The bolt is seized up to the sleeve real bad. I didnt do the other side yet but I suspect I will have to do the same thing, I'm going to heat that bitch up this time and hope I can get it to break loose before I have to cut it
  20. sounds good man, just let me see if I can save the one side at least. The lower arms are out fine, it the upper arms that are fucked, so its those 2 bolts. I will see what happens and let ya know.
  21. yeah sucks ass doesnt it. Both my top a-arms are froze up. The left side it almost seems the bolt inside is bent a little or something towards the front. The bolt turns fairly easy now but it wont come out the other side. I havent got to beat the hell out of the other side yet hoping I can salvage the bolt and get it out easier. What i did notice though for the lower a-arms and tie rods that if they are kinda just free sitting in the spindles they seem to knock out easier then if the suspension was still hooked up. Not sure why but I had no problem with the right side besides the upper arm. Now both upper arms are locked in and I cant get the bolts out. It also looks like I have to cut the chain so I can pull that since I dont see a master link anywhere, just more petty shit to deal with. Good news is the swinger bolt isnt seized, hooray ::
  22. not to sure if I want to go that route just yet. Still messing with a few other ways to see if I can manage to break it free so it comes out. Off topic of this situation but is it normal for a stock shee to not have a masterlink from the factory? I was about to finish pulling off the swinger and noticed I dont have one. I wonder how many more surprises there will be.
  23. already went through a can of PB blaster on this fuckin bolt. This is the only thing stopping me from getting this damn frame sprayed and it has me heated. I'll keep trying the PB shit but so far it hasnt done anything. I have also been whacking the shit out of it from the opposite end when the impact is on it and nothing at all.
  24. still not working out for me. I got the damn spindles finally off but the F'in top A-arm bolt is shit now. It got all warped on the one end and then the nut wouldnt come off, end up cutting it off but I still cant get the bolt to come out the opposite side. What looks like is happening is the front a-arm mount is not allowing the bolt to come out. I'm about to just cut the whole a-arm but I dont want to. The top a-arm is the only thing left and it just wont budge, what else can I do?
  25. the a-arm bolt will barely even turn, I want to hit it harder but I dont want to screw up the threads, but it looks like it may be my only choice to really whack the shit out of it and see what happens
