no interest in a classic? Doesnt need much money to make it look good again.

Just thought I would see if anyone is interested. I purchased an 86 350x 3 wheeler with the intentions of restoring it but came to the realization it isnt going to happen. I am moving to AZ in a month and have no room for it on the trailer so it has to be left behind. Now it needs work, nothing to serious but little stuff here and there. When I first picked it up everything was loose. The head wasnt torqued down and it spit oil all over the place. I re-torqued that down and now it blows a little smoke on start up. I think it may just be the gaskets and possibly the o-ring for the decomp lever. I adjusted the valves so everything is in spec now. It has a ton of compression so I'm sure the top end is strong. The frame is straight with no breaks as far as I can tell. Good tires all around. It def needs plastics and a seat, they are all stitched up. Rear brakes work fine, but the fronts need a new master cylinder. It needs nuts and bolts as well here and there. For someone who knows these bikes, it should be easy to fix up, like I said I just dont have the time to mess with it now. Ask any questions, bill of sale only. The bike does run and start up fine, I just wouldnt take it on any big rides, I ripped around my yard for a little here and there and thats about it. Could use a new clutch cable as the one is pretty used up thats in it now. The clutch itself is fine though Asking 900obo Located in Lower Bucks County, outside Philly Pa

once it was jetted properly is actually scared me a little bit at first because it ran like such shit before. It was just a real touchy set-up when it came to jetting. It wasnt a huge deal changing out the mains or switching the needle around but it was time consuming because the little thing seemed to either make the set-up work or fall on its face.

its an M8 x 1.25 thread bolt I believe

I ran the 33 pwk 2into1 on my old shee which had FMF pipes, mild trail port and K&N with no lid. After losing my damn mind over that carb so many times I finally ended up with a 185 Main, 45 pilot and needle on 3rd clip (forget what needle is was though) And this was right around winter time with the temps in the 30's. That carb was such a bitch to jet for some reason. Also make sure it is straight up and down in the boot or it will cause one side to get more fuel then the other.

Put her in gear, let the clutch out, but my shee doesnt move!

Broken bolt now with extractor snapped in it

Broken bolt now with extractor snapped in it
fox_forma replied to fox_forma's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
finally got the extractor out but there is no way I can get that bolt out safely. To much got eaten away and its very close to the edges, looks like I have barely anything left to try and grab if using an easy out type extractor. It is so close the normal threads may be screwed but I think they may still have a chance. What options should I look at now. Should drill the whole thing out and helicoil it, or just drill the whole thing out and throw a bolt though and put a nut on the end of it and tighten it down? Or if anyone has any inexpensive ways of getting what little is left of the actual bolt out I'd be happy to hear it. -

went through 2 of them so far and they broke, would not grab for shit. I used a carbide bit I have for my dremel and so far I am picking away at the extractor slowly. Its taking a while but seems to be cutting away at it better than anything else. Couldnt find a carbide tipped concrete bit yet though -

picked up my new truck what yall think
fox_forma replied to smokin 2 stroke's topic in General Banshee Discussion
best thing you can do to wake these trucks up is a custom PCM tune, do not get handheld tuner like superchips or anything, have someone street tune/dyno tune it. Easily get another 25+ HP -
One of my engine mount bolts completely snapped off. It was the one that connects to the frame so I drilled it out slowly, then put an extractor bit in it and apparently the extractor bit was shit and snapped off inside the bolt now. Is there anyway to drill this out again? None of the bits I have will cut through the extractor and keep going. I dont know where to go from here, I have never had this type of problem before extracting a broken bolt. Oh and the bolt isnt sticking out at all

maybe your 2into1 isnt straight sitting in the boot? -
Well I am moving out to AZ in Mid May and need a trailer to move with. Figured I might as well buy one instead of paying a $1000 just to rent one only to return it. Would prefer it to have a tandem axle, electric brakes and hopefully some sort of hook up inside trailer for small power. Just figured I would throw it out there in case anyone has one for sale near me. I'm in Philly Pa so anywhere in local area would be good. PM me if you have anything. I have cash, and I also have a 86 350x 3 wheeler I could throw in as partial trade if interested. It does need some work but nothing major, just minor parts like front brakes, fenders/seat and some bolts here and there. Let me know

you need fuel, spark and air to start. If you have spark, then something isnt right with the fuel or air most likely. Have you had the carbs off or anything when you re-wired the harness? Maybe something got in there. Did you try new plugs? As for the secondary ign coil having infinity resisitance, i could never get a reading on that for some reason. I heard it needs to tested with some juice going through it. But if you have spark, its most likely something within the carbs or air filter possibly.

make sure the float valves are moving in and out freely. I just went through this on another quad and it would fire up only with the choke on but once off or any type of throttle applied it would cut off. I cleaned the carbs but the first time I didnt pull the floats out and the needle valve because they looked ok. Turned out the left side was fine but the right side was stuck in the hole not allowing gas to enter or anything. Once out and cleaned, fired right up and had no more problems.

harbor freight tire changer, breaks the bead everytime, already paid for itself around my way since dealers charge around $20 per tire
-
could prob just google it, its automatic transmission fluid, but you must use the type F for our clutches
-
ATF Type F here as well, wont use anything else. I've had better results with type F than any other oil like GEARSAVER, plus the cost is about a $1 per qt
