I'll trade ya the brackets off mine I dont need for that throttle cable?
-
As long as the rings are lined up properly on the piston it should slide right over. Are you using oil or anything to help it slide over and doing it dry? Is the piston the right size for the cylinders?
-
I ride in AZ where its high speeds and lot of smaller rocks and have no issues with them hitting me or anything and my front and rears are fully shaved. Cut em off!!!!!

It seems the prices vary at different shops. I went to 3 shops today which of course I forgot my wallet but had $20 and the cheapest $24.89 and most expensive was $35.99. I was hoping to really just find someone who had laying around for pretty cheap because I am going with the no TORS set-up soon but I want to see if my cable is the culprit with something before I do.
-
Thanks man but think I'm going to pass, I would rather driver by the local dealer first so I wouldnt have to wait on shipping for a few extra $$$. Thanks though
-
possibly, is it in good shape and everything? $$$$?
-
When I had fatty's on my shee I remember them liking a tad bigger pilot, think it was a 27.5 or so. 280 sounds about right as well during the hotter months, then winter I bumper up on the mains.
-
I plan on it but was hoping to find a cable off someone thats just laying around so I can be sure my throttle issue is within that. Just an easy fix for right now till I have time to do the TORS removal.
-
thanks man but thats basically the same issue I am dealing with now that is screwing me up. Thanks for checking though. I appreciate it
-
That would be sweet if theres no kinks or anything in it and its not stretched out. Looking at mine some more the cable is pretty shot from housing to TOR's
-
Thanks anyhow, is the twist throttle cable any different though? I thought just the throttle housing was different?
-
Seeing if anyone has one laying around they dont want. The TORS is still on my bike, just not hooked up and I have a kink in my cable which I believe it the culprit of my mid range power issues because I cant seem to get the carbs to synch up correctly. If anyone has one they dont need please let me know before I go buy one.

Went up to cave creek and tatum, not sure if it has a name of not but has some pretty sweet spots to rip around in and has a lot of homemade kickers, mostly for dirt bikes though. Next time I go I'm taking the RM and leaving the shee home, it just beats ya up to mcuh

ran the piss out of the shee yesterday and had no issues besides I def need to drop the needle one for a little more fuel. Once running on the main jet which is where it mostly stayed at it was screaming, just mid throttle response was a little sluggish so I'm pretty sure it was starving for fuel. Had some nice drags going on with my buddies on his shee and another yfz450 but if I got out off the main during shifts thats when I fell behind a tad. Gonna richen up the needle a little and see what happens. I brought my helmet cam and everything only to forget the bullet cam itself so it was a lost cause.
-
prob gonna run the bike tomorrow for a hard run so we'll see. Either it will pull ass all day long or something is going to go wrong. I think I'm going to drop the needle clip one just to check cause I think my problem lies in the mid range being a tad lean
-
I'm waiting on a spare rear wheel so I can put a paddle on it and just swap out where sets instead of changing the tires each time I want to ride hard pack or sand
-
Yeah i re-jetted once I got here and that was mainly due to the new filter set-up since I am running PODS with no box. I was at a 280 main, stock pilot and stock needle on 3rd clip before the PODS, then I changed needles and bumped up to 320 mains with the PODS. My RM gets hot but nothing like my shee pipes. Nice RM250 by the way, what kinda rear tire you running? Looks like the same as mine, a Maxxix c600.
-
thats pretty much how my greydon prolines are, just doesnt seem right.
-
Yeah i know about air flow and everything and I'm pretty good with jetting bikes but I just dont ever recall any of my other banshee's or any other 2t's I've owned reaching that type of heat range with the pipes. I'm going to tweak a few things and see what happens just to be on the safe the side. Gonna do any plug chop as well when I get the time tomorrow or this week.
-
I just found it odd the difference between the two. My pipes seem to get extremely hot, I have burnt myself before on pipes but I swear you can just feel how hot these are once you get a little close to them. Just seeing if anyone elses are like this
-
Just curious how hot some of your pipes tend to get? My Dirt bike, 99 RM250 runs great but the pipe doesn't seem to get really hot, yeah it gets hot but nothing like the heat I can feel off my shee's pipes. I'm just curious how normal it is for our pipes to really heat up. My bikes runs pretty good, my plugs looks fine but with the heat disperse it has me thinking I'm running lean still somewhere up top. There is no coolant leaking as well from what I can tell. Does this sound like the right area for jetting? 02 Stock motor Greydon proline pipes and silencers +4 timing Dual PODS I'm at 320 main, I forget the needle but I'm on the 4th clip down out of 6 of them, stock pilots and air screws turned out 1.25. I live in AZ so its pretty hot hear now but even when the temps weren't up as high it still seemed odd to me. I Like I said the bike seems to run pretty good but it really seems to give off way more heat than any of my other shee's I have owned and all those had more work done to them.

I just moved out to AZ not long ago and I was installing Directv and almost every job I was at was new homes. They seem to to be building new places everywhere outside of the phoenix area. Queen Creek, Mesa, chandler there is a lot of new places going up. At least thats what it seemed when I was working.

that carb will lug real low and real good, its not the pilot, its most likely the needle. The pilot mainly effects start up and idle, As soon as any throttle is given you are pretty much working off the needle and main the more it opens. I assume that when your lugging around your at 1/4 throttle or more. How many slots does your needle have for adjustment? Like mentioned about the leaner diameter needle, normally they will have a 6th slot which can let you fine tune it better. Wish I had some carbs to trade ya cause I would love to go back to the 2into1 set-up again. Good Luck with it though
-
doesnt your pilot only effect idle to 1/8 throttle? If you bike starts up fine and idles fine I would think your issue is somewhere else, like the needle position. Maybe you need to throw in a different needle to get the proper response you want. I cant see a pilot jet helping you out in this situation.
-
looks good, but it also looks like your running turntamers on the rear, I would get rid of them and go with a stronger tire. Good Luck with the bike!!
