  1. Unless you have a dyno plot of your motor, the rest you're citing is bullshit!! It's not what you think you know, it's what you can prove!! Every motor is different and so is every dyno. And for the record, people who own Banshee's own them because they love 2 strokes and everything that 2 strokes are about, plain and simple. And if anyone on here trade's their Banshee for a 660 Raptor we all better not hear about it because that sorry bastard will never be taken seriously on here again... However I do know of one former Banshee owner that is now happily neutered and loves his Raptor 700. At least it's a 700... My best advice is sell your 660 and use the cash to buy a Banshee. Here's a 4mm stroker that could give you the 70whp you're looking for if it's not already there. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?/topic/183594-nice-4mm-for-sale-2800/#entry1748884
  2. List your mods!! Welcome to BHQ!!
  3. Very interesting!!
  4. Excellent!! Are you guys porting the cylinders to the customer's specs for their supporting mods and riding style or is that something a builder like FAST or Redline would do? And, I don't know if this has been mentioned, but do your domes fit into the CPI Wampus Head?
  5. How long before the 66mm pistons and LP +4mm cylinders are ready?
  6. Fucking eBay... We told you about eBay. Now you need to get a hold of the vendor and cancel your order. Buy the pro design setup. Or buy uni filters that clamp on the carbs and eliminate the airbox.
  7. ^^^ This... Either heed our advice or buy shit twice... Just Saying!!
  8. Cage, what are you talking about? This is what you want. http://www.prodesignracing.com/pro_flow_kits.htm
  9. Man, you've got that right. If your motor is apart, do it.I rode a 97hp 485 cheetah pv over Labor Day Weekend and it had a Redline Pro Mod trans in it and man it shifted like budda! It shifted so smooth the only way I new it went into gear was it just kept going faster and faster!! I can't wait to get a Pro Mod.
  10. So, 397cc's, that's cool!!
  11. Way to lay into RU!! He can be a dickhead!! Yes carb sync is very important. At idle and at part throttle. I think you mentioned you have a K&N air filter, correct? If so, that's great because that means a pro design intake flange is installed already. I believe you can get a 2 stage uni filter for it. K&N's suck without outerwears. I safety wired my outerwears to my filters because I was tired of the elastic stretching and letting sand get on my filters.
  12. IIRC, from FMF's site, they state with airbox lid removed requires 30 pilots and 260 mains, needle clips middle groove. After having my stock carbs bored, I went with 30 pilots, needle clips 4th groove down and 310 mains. Airscrews almost backed out completely. I wasn't pulling the bowls in the dunes to change the pilots, but I did move the needle clips into the middle groove, and man, what an improvement. Since then I changed the pilot back to 27.5's and the airscrews 1.5 turns out but I haven't ridden it yet.
  13. Good What's wrong with messing with jetting? Do you know what's in the carbs now?
  14. Yes, read, read and then when your tired of reading, read some more!!
  15. Yes, 16oz of oil to 5 gallons is 40:1. Since you're a mechanic, I'd buy some special tools. Compression Tester craftsman or better. FAST Carb Sync Tool Simple eBay 2 stroke digital tachometer. Build a leakdown tester. I believe there's a pinned thread on how to build one. Flywheel puller Farm and Sand Toys.com is a great resource and so is RMATV.com
  16. No man, 16oz = 1 pint is 40:1 when mixed with 5 gallons of fuel. There's no reason to go 32:1. Yamalube 2R comes in pints and quarts. Buy pints and be done with it and never have to use a ratio rite mixing cup again!! There are other exhaust choices. I've riddenbToomey T5's on my bike and T3's and SLP's on my buddy's Dune Port motor. The SLP's turn the Banshee into a tractor. I never found the top of 6th gear with the Toomey T3's, but they required a shit ton of clutch fanning to keep on the pipe. I'm gonna try some Pro Circuits out. They run up the face of the power curve faster than T5's and rev out the same. Do some research and buy the right parts the first time. Do it right, or do it twice!!
  17. What is the smallest 4mil topend you guys plan on selling. My motor is a stock bolt on motor and I can burn a full tank of fuel on one ride. Any bigger and fuel economy is going to suck.
  18. That's awesome you know about the fuel/oil ratio. 50 parts fuel to 1 part oil is a lean fuel/oil ratio. But when talking air/fuel ratio, 50:1 premix is a rich air/fuel ratio and jetting should be leaned out. But then you're sacrificing sufficient lubrication of the bottom end bearings, both rod bearings, the pistons and rings. You've done it for years, so you know how to tune!! That's awesome!!
  19. 1 pt of Yamalube 2R mixed with 5 gallons of 91 octane is 40:1. I've been running that ratio for 25 yrs, never had a problem. Do you have a FSM? If not, get a Clymer manual. My motor kicks 120psi warm. Still runs super bitchin. Check out my sig. Mod list is almost complete. My motor has never been opened either, not even the clutch cover has been taken off. Only thing I'd do different is run V Force 4 reeds. I installed my setup before they came out. I'm debating on having Ron Black from RB Designs cut my stock head to get more efficient combustion and then I can run another degree of timing advance. What kind of riding do you do?
  20. Nice find!! Welcome to the forum! Why would anyone feel bad about modding virgin Banshee!! Do your research. Mod the suspension so you can really enjoy her!! I've spent a little on my suspension and I'm so glad I did.
  21. Dominator, only way to go!! https://www.team-rpm.com/
  22. Exhaust springs are no longer a PITA after I bought this. https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/989/3028/Tusk-Exhaust-Spring-Tool?term=exhaust%20spring%20tool First time I used the spring tool I was like, "WTF didn't I buy this years ago?"
  23. Excellent, jetting seems to be spot on, run it!!
  24. Personally I don't see anything wrong with trail riding T5's. Proper jetting/tuning is key to making bottom-end on these motors. Care to share your current carb set-up and jetting?
