  1. Doesn't JD's new to him ride rock a Serval? Shearer's rip on Servals!! I'm not a fan of SLP's on a Duner. I rode my buddy's 89 dune port and it was lame how abrupt they signed off. I had to jet it fatter everywhere to get it to rev. They got better, but we ran out of jets. I told him to get more jets but he said it was good enough. If he's happy with it, then so am I. Now if you're building a trail tractor Banshee, then SLP's are an excellent choice.
  2. Welcome to Banshee HQ!!
  3. Tell your buddy to go eat a bag of dicks.
  4. Richard is still cheaper with return shipping. He uses all R1 internals and new black springs.
  5. That's way too much!! I strongly urge you to call Richard at House of Horsepower. 405.524.4686
  6. UmmKay...You want to enlighten us then?
  7. No, with your mods, stock pilots are not OK!! Needle clip middle groove!! I'm not sure why you ignored sheerider's advice. There's absofuckinglutely no way your airscrews are 5 turns out. Try seating them gently and then back them out 1.5 turns. What's your elevation and temp numbnutz??
  8. Make sure and perform a leakdown test before you install your motor. There's a bottom end assembly walkthrough stickied in one of the forums. There are a some good tips in there for assembly.
  9. That's cool, I just never heard Kevin say that in all of my dealings with him. But I'm heavier than your average Banshee rider at 230#'s and he said that the stock carbs would keep more bottom-end. Yeah, and that's all that matters and I know the feeling. I have my suspension so dialed in right now I'm jonesing to go back to the dunes and it's ony been 2 weeks since I was last in Pismo. Next is a 4mil stroker build. Now whether it's a 4mm stk cyl dune port or Driveline cylinders is the question.
  10. Yeah, fuck'em!! We call'em like we see'em!!
  11. What did Kevin say about larger carbs in regards to riding vs racing. Excellent about the filters, Cascade sells quality parts, not always the cheapest, but they don't sell Chinese knock off bullshit. And bottomline is that you're happy with your motor's performance.
  12. I'm kinda curious too... Kevin is a huge advocate of stock carbs. Stock carbs have fed a 4mm stk cyl to just north of 80whp. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?/topic/169881-redline-4mm-stock-cyl/?hl=redline I've talked to Kevin about your exact build at one point and later learned to run the other way due to the use of inferior parts. You could've saved yourself ~$450 by running your stock carbs and you'd have gotten more bottom-end out of your Hardcore MX Port. And do your filters actually say K&N anywhere on them? How about the Outerwears, do they actually say Outerwears?
  13. And, to top it all off, you're a new member selling parts as a first post, kinda shady!! Do us all a favor, go back to eBay and GFYS!!
  14. I'd get a Mattoon 1pc head from Redline or a Chariot 1pc head. CPI offers the Wampus Head which looks stock but runs domes. Or Driveline can cut your stock head to accept domes.
  15. Ohhh... You guys must've scared him off.
  16. Like to his face, cause he hasn't been on here since Dec 29 of 2005...
  17. What's so funny, I burned a full tank in about 30 mins. I burned an average of 6 gallons per day for three days. If my buddy's rode as hard or as often as I'd like to, I would've easily burned 8 gallons/day. Too bad you're on the east coast, it'd be fun riding with you!! How do you feel about your stk cyl 4 mil? Do you need more power or do you want more power?
  18. Yeah, I know..., but I don't fall into that catagory of BHQ'er. I too am looking for 70-75 useable whp for shredding the dunes. I need fuel economy, so keeping the displacement down as much as possible is key. Just this last Labor Day, I rode with John T and Carlo in Pismo and in 1 ride I burned a full tank of gas and had to switch to reserve. Pismo is only 1500 acres...
  19. Ah, I didn't think about that, good point. Understood, but he asked about 70whp and didn't say anything about upgrading in the future. Regardless though, larger motors = better power delivery and more fuel consumption. I like to go on long rides, so fuel economy is important to me.
  20. No reason to run a 421cc Serval to achieve 70whp.
  21. Yes and yes
  22. I was pleasantly surprised with the price and the internal components he used. Round trip was less than 2 weeks. Richard has been rebuilding Banshee rear shocks for 25yrs, he's got it down!!
  23. Call both shops. Richard was very reasonable and very quick to turnaround.
  24. Send your rear shock to Richard at house of horsepower. He'll set you up fo sho!! I don't think the front shocks can be rebuilt.
  25. Wow, my bad, I guess I should've read the whole first paragraph and not just the first sentence. I went straight to the pics and breezed thru the mod list. I've never heard of anyone trying to sell such a pile, and even say "nice 4mm for sale" in the title.
