  1. The RFX pipes are good, but I don't care for their old adjustable pipes too much due to the leaking and hassle of keeping them sealed up. LRD claims to put more of a focus on mid range power, I think they're a great trail pipe.
  2. I need a few clutch parts for a friend's bike I'm repairing, so if anybody has any of the following please let me know. 1. Stock inner clutch hub 2. Stock pressure plate 3. Bolts for clutch springs
  3. They start broadcasting them on August 2nd on Versus, it says 3:00PM but I'm not sure if that's Eastern or what? Hope this helps.
  4. Interested in black powdercoat by any chance? I have a pair of douglas ultimate "yellow label" rolled edge rims if you're interested.
  5. I got rid of mine last year, but I still like the site.
  6. My partner and I had a few mishaps but we still finished the race. He was in third place after the first turn but cut a sidewall on the first lap. He made it back and plugged it in two spots but we lost alot of time. On my third lap I started moving pretty good and passed a few guys until my lug nuts worked their way completely off one back rim and I lost the rim and tire, causing me to spinout. I pulled a lug nut off each remaining wheel with the stock tool kit and had to put the tire on by myself, that really sucked and I saw where the bolt holes were completely egged out but the studs still held up! I made it back and rode my partners 450R on my next lap. Believe it or not, we actually beat at least 3 other teams after all that. The course was pretty brutal, I need to change my springs to get my ride height lower and I'm going for a set of flexx bars. Beadlocks are definitely in my near future too. The motor was great and the rear was really stable considering the track was just about all rocks and tiny woops/kickers the entire way through. Reverse was a HUGE help. Here's a few pics of some of the bikes before the start, me in the pit, and me making the first corner before going into the woods.
  7. Sorry to hear about that man, he's in my prayers. I'm familar with all that area since I'm from Boaz and I know I65 gets pretty crazy.
  8. Moose has many different companies making things for them, the good thing is that they always choose good quality stuff.
  9. The tread patterns look close, but I wonder if the compounds are the same. I'm sure that plays a big role in how they hook up, softer wears hard but grabs more. I've used the Irazr's and they're pretty good for straight line traction. The only downside is they're kind of heavy.
  10. "2008 Big Dawg 60" buddy harescramble race on May 10th in Springville, Alabama at the "The Ridge" riding park (just North of Birmingham). Buddy (open class), Ironman (solo), family, and utility classes. Check the link for more info, I'll be there with my partner for the buddy race and there should be a pretty good turnout. http://www.ridgeriding.com/files/kidsmx/08...0Fling%2050.pdf
  11. I thought 13:1 was pushing it for pump gas depending on your altitude. If I was close to see level I would run closer to 100 octane. Most stock 450's are closer to 12:1 from the factory. Definitely compression test that thing.

  13. It's makes a pretty big difference because of the leverage, most of the people I know that race YFZ450's competitively use Honda throttles. Try your 400ex throttle like you stated, I'm sure you'll notice the difference.
  14. I like the simplicity of a single carb. Not only is it easy to adjust, but it also cleans up everything around the intake really nicely and makes everything easier to get to.
  15. If you decide to stay with a thumb throttle, buy a 400ex/450R throttle off of ebay, the leverage is a whole lot better.
  16. I would definitely run 104 or higher, the bad thing is that it costs an arm and a leg to run straight race gas unless your using it for mx or other short amounts of time. I was buying 110 Rocket brand at a local Citgo for $5.69 a gallon last year and it was getting expensive even though that is actually pretty cheap. I got gas at the same station the other day and the stuff was up to $6.69 in less than 6 months. 93 octane is expensive enough nowadays.
  17. My friend with the Raptor700 ended up dropping out at the last minute, but I did get some good hillclimb video footage. The problem is that my friend that was recording clicked on the tape setting on the handycam instead of the memory card setting and now I don't know how to transfer the tape video to my computer. If anyone knows what I need to do, please let me know.
  18. Definitely go with the plastic, I had a billet saver and once it takes a hit it becomes scrap. Like mentioned above, the plastic will allow for more flex.
  19. Everyone is in luck, my friend down the road has a Raptor 700SE just like "theshee" has. He's riding with me Saturday, maybe I can get a camera jockey to film me and him run them a few times. The Raptor is a sweet ride, I've rode his around some but it doesn't have the torque the KTM has IMO. It's slightly heavier too, but he weighs 175 or so and I'm a good 210lbs so it'll even out I guess.
  20. As far as a do all quad, there is no comparison. The KTM kills it in handling, it would take a good bit of mods for the banshee to beat it in a straight line too. It's got more power than the other new bikes out and is lighter too. I ride mostly woods, similar to GNCC style stuff and I have taken a beating on a banshee. This thing is a whole different story with the ohlins shocks. You need to ride one of these things, you'd be suprised.
  21. I haven't seen a ds450 up close, but I would've seriously looked at it for my second choice. This is my 4th bike in 3 years and I think I've found the one that fits me the best, it's got power and handling straight from the factory. I just don't see how you can go wrong with one, the motor has been around for 8 years and everything on the body is chromoly steel or aluminum. I'm seriously going to try and get some video next Saturday.
  22. I've actually got a pretty big ride planned next weekend and if all works out right, I can run it against both Raptors (660/700) and 450R, LTR, YFZ, Predator, etc. There's no telling who else will be out there, but it's 4000 acres of all fast wide trails and long steep hills and we have a blast everytime. I'll try to get the guys on utilities to handle the camcorder for me (the same guys who manage the beer and grills).lol
  23. You can have the best looking bike now title, I'll take the fastest bike now title. JK
