  1. this outta get a few responses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ok your in school longer...... more time to soak up knowledge??????? bad thing? less time after school before parents get off work??? bad thing? wanting to do something they wouldnt approve of?? reality is.... get smart, get good job! get good job , might work less hours? 12 yrs of school! vs rest of your life in a career! you tell me what is so wrong about it?????
  2. as far as asking jetting questions????????????? plugs can look ok but there are three diffrent circuits on your carbs.. so it can run good at half throttle but run crappy at wide open throttle idle crappy then clean out 1/2 throttle and up... in jetting and exhaust forum you will find all the info you can use and more..................
  3. nice shee you have the seat cover i am waitng for thats on backorder for mine........
  4. would love to go, but not to sure on the muddy mess. when i was running an air box would not think twice about going, but now with clamp ons and outerwears thinking sloppy isnt smart. i want to go riding bad, i havent had a chance this year since everything has been redone... hope to see some hqers out there this year....
  5. 37 here.. and just got my fast built shee all back together........... any you youngins wanna bring it !!!!!!!!! we can roll and see where it all lays out in the end lol.....
  6. leak down test...... bad seal or major leak somewhere..
  7. sounds like a good candidate for leak down test. if you leaned out because of a seal on the crank
  8. thanks hollister
  9. hey hollister you using calipers or are you using a dial bore gage on cylinders? you cannot get a good true reading in a bore with dial calipers. just fyi. take it to a shop and have them check it. they should have a master ring gage to check setting of dial bore gage. you have a true reading because of the way the pads are spread on a dial bore gage digital dial calipers cannot get down into the bore.
  10. i have the nylon tm designworks. i liked how it uses the case itself to help support the saver. i think some only use the screws to hold it in place.. something to think about?????????????? i have never had to use it. but good insurance. i like my case not busted and plan on keeping it that way!!!!!!!
  11. damn jeff you are gonna have to run some kinda exchange program....j/k that looks sweet and i just got my motor back in, up, and running. nice logo do you think crayola holds up to the heat???????????????? :yelrotflmao:
  12. just had my motor done by jeff at fast... he used my stock crank for the build.. 20cc domes I havent checked compression running 93 octane pump gas.. didnt think I need to check jeffs work you should be fine on your stock crank. if your doing a top end that will bring your compression back up. you might think about checking in to your lower end though. if you lose your seals that could be the death of your motor. from what you said your motor does have some age working against it. death is a strong word but you would be looking at tearing it all down again.
  13. the stock crank can go out of phase(relationship between the 2) ... usually you dont have to have it welded in stock form. your crank bearings could have some wear. when you start playing with compression ie.. milled or aftermarket head.. that causes more stress on your crank. if your just gonna do top end, its a good time for porting, aftermarket head, all depends on how far you want to take it. it is good insurance to have crank trued and welded if you are gonna get new bearings. a good time to figure out what exactly do you want out of motor.. hope helps a little,
  14. that would be you ........................................ i just didnt want another pissin match and people posting replies that dont mean ______ to me.... hope things are going good for you !!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. the tors system has nothing to do with set up.... 3 switches 1 on thumb throttle and 1 on each carb. if the switch on either slide shows slides are not closed when thumb throttle is not press kills ignition... thats all tors is.. if you change pipes or (basically change airflow of motor) that is when jetting your carbs come into play. with stock carbs and tors your idle is adjusted with the knob on top of tors box. hope that helps, jim
  16. i used alloyboltz on the case covers, all the plastic, some suspension, bumpers, antiseize on the nylon locknuts, loctite where needed and had no problems with anything.... antiseize is always a good thing when using stainless steel hardware.. they use it in aircraft assy all the time when stainless is used...... fyi
  17. pretty much recreational they do have a big gncc race in crawfordville in that i am thinking about entering would be just for fun..... id let everybody go take off then see how far id end up in the pack!!!!!! not to many motorcross tracks in indiana...
  18. live s west indianapolis love to ride at the badlands.... better then haspin acres by far.. it would be cool to ride with some fellow HQers.. maybe this spring figure something out...
  19. it was done by jeff.... dont want to start a builder thread (it was my choice) he did a damn fine job imo........... it came up on me in third the first time i crept up into the pipe... wasnt expecting that ... havent really played on any terrain in 1st or 2nd... no time to go and ride yet. learned to move up a little in third when litting her open up on flat ground pavement... havent had a chance to run on dirt winter set in just when i got motor back from jeff.. and work too.. got the elka long travel set up on rear.. looking forward when i get time to play on it.....
  20. got my motor back. case port,woods/play cyl port, noss w/20 domes, already had billet impeller,+4 timing plate,.020 cleanup bore, pistons, bearings n seals, true n weld stock crank,200 w stator,v-3's,internal cross over intake,33 pwk's,shift shaft mod n spring,h-d clutch setup(builder's),k&n clamp- ons w(outerwears),inline temp guage....... what a wake up call........... was stock with t-5s and jet..... working on the tune but kinda shitty weather outside (mid indiana) i have got it running still starts a little too easy with out choke in 40 deg garage (10 deg outside) but what a wicked little motor.... heat cycled it like i was told.. have riden it at easy alternating rpms, 5 - 10 min at a time (warm up a few min).. and the last couple times i have had it out for a quick spin i never would have thought that the banshee low end could wake up like that and with (14 t) sprocket. and the throttle response is quick. and the pwr hit is a blast when it gets hooked up.. icy patches on pavement is a sideways affair which i aint bitchin... it was worth the funds to wake up the shee... it is a blast just cant wait for the spring time.. only thing that sucks is the air box would have been a total bitch to fit with carbs and intakes.. and now ive gotta be chicken shit with a puddle.... and i need to shield the outerwears against the stingers of the T-5s. i used a hose clamp to pull them over tward frame. still not comfortable with around an 1/8th inch clearence.. havent rode for more than 10 min too damn cold and snowy. and no weekend off since begin of jan.. i have a couple pics of suspension, and some of finshed product.. just suck at computers and pics to big to post.. thanks for all those who share info on this site.....
  21. i got one with the lt shock and all together it was around 1150.00. 850.00 shock 300.00 for link pretty nice solid billet alum. that was machined. aint got to try it out yet still gotta get motor back, installed, broke in and then we will see how shee feels............... got a couple pics but to big a file to post and im computer challenged, i can fix and play on them, but software and actually using them I suck..............
  22. turkey run is only 20 min away if that.. state park near attica, i have camped there and a little campground called cherokee(something) real close to park interence. made a three day riding trip by doing that. i live about 1 hr 15min from the badlands so i know what your talking about wanting to stay in the area
  23. jeff is a damn straight guy (we had a little snafu) he didnt blow me off even as busy as the man has become.. we got our stories on the same page. the issue was handled the same afternoon and all is good. THANK YOU JEFF........................................ (cant wait to see what shee runs like after your tricks)
  24. i want to get my shee back together bad.... but there is always a butt............. as of the next couple of weekends. work sat. and sun. and also the possibility of a new roof over the head... going to look at late sat afternoon.. 3 bdrm 2 bath 1900's 2 story log cabin on 100 acres for $800.00 month poss option to buy. 1500 acres of state forestry around (no riding on state land) hehe. talked to the people there now .. it dont sound bad(they are relocating to penn. because of job) might be a good year!!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. same riding areas here.... dont really care for the low area back behind main parking area ... back up around to the right, or follow main path back off to left in the pea gravel and the big dirt hills.. hopefully it will be a good riding season soon! the weather has been jacked so far this winter..................
