  1. i'd try him on pavement!
  2. shit! if i had of stuck around for another 17 minutes i would have had this !! any consolation prizes??? let me know if you got any more contests in the future.
  3. i don't even think you can post anything containing "Banshee HQ" without getting booted off. pretty sad. there is alot of experience over there and some good tech tips but it's got noth'in on the HQ though.
  4. props to you buddy, you handled the situation well. alot of people would have froze up when faced with a situation like that. i took a red cross certified first aid course three years ago and i highly recommend it. hope everythings ends up ok for your family.
  5. i want to check out a few races this season. maybe give it a shot. building a drag bike this summer and just want to see what i'm up against. anybody know any dates and locations. looking for organized events.
  6. i noticed in your mod list your timing was set at zero degrees. if it was me, i would crank it ahead to at least +4. it makes a significant difference. do you know what you are running for compression? what elevation do you ride at?
  7. the renegade 800s really haul ass for a 4X4. a built one would be real quick. i'm told they hook hard off the line. if you're only running aftermarket pipes and bolt-ons you should probably decline to race or think up some" why i lost" excuses in advance.
  8. he may get more for the bikes if he parts them out seperately. just something to think about. i need some parts too!
  9. shearers.
  10. try and go with a skinnier front tire as well. makes for a bit less resistance so the bike will roll easier.
  11. i went to the dealer today and tried to price some of the 2008 orange plastics and the black decal package. they couldn't find a part # for either item cause they said they had the U.S. microfiche sheets and they ended in 2006. course the guy didn't really offer to make a call to yamaha either so he was probably too lazy to make the effort. if they make them theres gotta be a part # for them somewhere. i felt like getting behind the counter and looking up the parts myself. anyway i didn't get anywhere with those inbred bastards, so i'll call a buddy at another dealership tomorrow and see if he can find the parts. if not i'll get him to contact the area rep and track down some #s.
  12. welcome to the HQ!
  13. it kinda looks like a cold seize from not warming the engine up before you ride.
  14. if you want to go for aftermarket reeds i got nothing bad to say about V-force. i run them in my snowmobiles as well and never had any problems with 'em.
  15. gotta watch some of those cheap chineese pullers. the threads on them are like butter.
  16. yep, definately time to take a boo inside the motor.
  17. never heard of the underseat stator mod ?!? is that something new the kids are doing these days.?
  18. just the impeller
  19. i always had good luck with the original razors. they seem to hold up well and are a good all around tire.
  20. sounds good, let us know how you make out. what do you have for gearing? (front/rear sprockets?)
  21. a slide hammer with a hook attachment on it might work.
  22. ok, i'll get back to ya on monday.
  23. check compression(should be well over 100psi, the higher the better) check for broken engine case from chain breaking around front sprocket, check for side to side play in swing-arm. check for bent rear axel.(you can feel it on the test ride). look for coolant leaks around the head and cylinders. make sure carbs are cleaned and serviced before you ride if you buy the machine.if its in real good condition $2000 is a fair deal.
