  1. only took about 10 hours. i got the powder coating for free.
  2. I bought new ones and had them powder coated along with the new shocks. It took me about 10 hours for the whole swapping process. Tell me what you guys think. I cant find the before pictures but both of the left side a arms were smashed into the shock
  3. Theres this place in el monte, ca. That will candy coat anything you take in for 300 bucks. They do custom work all the time like lowriders and show trucks, so bike parts to them are easy stuff.
  4. Go with a 8 inch if you want a lighter RIM, but its still gonna depend on what the total combination weight is. You can get some10inch douglas .125 blue labels that are light as hell and some light holeshots.
  5. The bike shop where i bought mine said that THEY HAVE TO GO AFTER THE REEDS. After the reeds is under i'm assuming. If you have no gaskets then apply some yamabond on both sides before you slap them on. They make about as much difference on the bike as the boost bottle. good luck.
  6. You can if you want. If you plan on taking it off to polish it or for any other reason DO NOT put loctite.
  7. HAHA, i did the same thing to mine. but with some self drilling screws. First time one broke i tied my pipes up with wire and i got clowned all week.
  8. Alright, i got it. I took my carbs apart and checked the flywheel, stator, boots, and ignition. I started my bike and then i took it for a test run and then it hit me, if the spark is there then the gas isn't. I rode it without the seat and there it was. Air bubbles in my gas line. There was a restricted gas flow through my inline filter. The stupid filter was dirty. I emptied out the gas and the pingle was also full of sludge. Then i changed the spark plugs and its back to normal. david
  9. ignition coil? or just he boots. My bike was acting funny similar to that and i found that one of the spark plug boots was loose. david
  10. Air leaks definatley cause this. Check around your intake boots for cracks and loose clamps.
  11. Only one way to find out buddy. Let us know what happens. david
  12. Find some blank flags the color of your choice and use iron on patches of your company logos. You can get the iron ons at any tee shirt shop around u.
  13. did you shave off all the unused ears? If so how hard was it?
  14. Hey, you guys went off topic. I tried the a 14/42 on my bike and now theres a different problem. It was boggin a bit in the middle of the power band and then at high rpms it would quit on me. I tried rejeting bigger and it just made my plug way to rich, what do you guys think???
  15. I was about to post about the exact same problem with my bike. When i first start it it rips beautifully, but after a couple of minutes theres a bog right in the middle of the powerband and it kind of misses at top end. I tried a bigger main but it runs way to rich, bogs all around, and leaves my plugs super wet. My needle clip is at #3. What do you guys think?
  16. Problems started when you added the pipes. 300's sounds way too low for what you're mods. Try new plugs and then do a plug check but if you ran it too lean for too long, even idle, you could have blown you new pistons already. Sorry buddy, it happens.
  17. Idol problems??? Like American Idol? Or like your banshee idle?
  18. Found the problem. The exhaust ring was all chewed up. I have never replaced it and have been through 3 rebuilds. I also took my spark arrestors off and found that my packing was half ways gone on the right and completley missing on the left. I packed it with some high temp insulation i had in my garage. I left the sparkys off and now it sounds waaaay crisper.
  19. Some guy offered me "real hid" lights for my banshee that are just bolt on that would work with a stock stator. Is it for real or is he full of bs?
  20. I live in pomona and went to el mirage for the first time this weekend. No need for sparkys there, not even a flag. That place was bad ass. I usually try to stay close but the drive is worth not risking a costly ticket. Going back in 2 weeks if you're interested.
  21. I'll be in apple valley this weekend. I'm down to meet up there. A few of my friends are tagging along.
  22. Where can i get the exhaust rings? My engine is running a little rich. I'm gonna try to lean up the jets one size and put regular hose clamps on the carbs. I also have toe repack my silencers.
  23. The lake is nice and dry right now and super smooth. The races were going for about 1500 ft. My tires are 20 holeshots and my gearing is 15/42. I'll be going up in 2 weeks again if any one wants to join. I'll be trying a 14/42 and a bit leaner on the jets.
  24. Today at el mirage i was racing all day and when i got home to clean my bike i noticed that there was oil dripping from my left carb where it meets the boot and both cylinders where they meet ther header. I was gonna put hose clamps to replace the stock clamps on the boots, is that ok? For the exhaust, im stumped. What can i do?
