  1. Several hours killed while reading this stupid fucking thread. Beats all I've ever seen in this place.
  2. I believe you are going to need a new throttle cable.
  3. Welcome to the BHQ, Fred. Most of us, here love banshees too. I know I love em. :baseball_w00t:
  4. The yamalube 4R is 10w50. And mix your your gas (Crown) with your choice of beverage at a ratio of 4:1. :thumb:
  5. If you go with a port job, you will be replacing your top end too. Rings, pistons misc. gaskets. That will eat up your 600 bucks. Check your compression to see what shape your top end is in and go from there. You will most likely be waiting in line to get your port job and that can cost you some riding time. If your top end is in good shape, like others have typed, get a Noss head, adjustable timing plate and some good reeds & cages. Keep the fattys, they are good pipes. And if your K&N is a clamp on, which it should be, pull the airbox lid off if not already done so. It outta run pretty good with all that. If you have any money left over, get some bling on that thing. :thumb: Edit: After all that, be a good idea to get some better suspension too.
  6. Go back to stock pilots, i believe they are 25's. And adjust your air screws. Start with them @ 2 turns out. Have you checked your plugs to know for sure that your mains are big enough?
  7. I use the yamalube 4R in my 4 stroker. I believe its 10w50.
  8. That's funny. I had some kids in a Z71 p/u stop and wanna race me. I said sure. When they caught up to me they asked me if I was running alcohol. And they looked at me funny when I said "yes and the bike uses regular pump gas." Hey, I resemble that remark. :baseball_getlost: No need to call anyone out on it.
  9. I haven't cried or whined over a drag race with my 'shee. It's usually the other guy, mainly the ones that dont have a banshee and call you out. You guys know what I'm talkin' about? The people that call you out that are either riding some kind of new 4 stroke or p/u truck, camaro ect..... Last 20 times I took my banshee out for a ride, I had some punks always stop and wanna drag race or some shit. And they think I have all kinds of shit done to my engine and alcohol race fuel and the like. You gotta admit its pretty funny the look on their faces when you put em in their place. I think it definately takes skill to be able to do any kind of racing.
  10. You're not the one Jeff was tellin me about that got a dune/play port from him and put it on a dyno and was pushin' 75 horse, are ya? He was tellin me something about that and said the guy was jetted pretty rich and could have easily gotten 80 or more out of it had he leaned it out a little. I take it the dune and play ports are bout the same thing?
  11. And if your an illegal alien and wanna stay, get your papers and pay your god damn taxes like the rest of us have to do. Just adding my .08 cents to your post.
  12. I hate to call the guy. He's gotta be busier than a cat coverin' up shit. I just pm the shit outta him. lol. He doesnt seem to mind it either. Edit: come to think of it, I think he told me he had like 20 sets of jugs. That's 2 jugs per set. 40 jugs to port. :baseball_shocked: It probably takes what, a couple of days to do one cylinder? And what, you gotta put it on a flow bench? Probably gotta clean em up before he ports em? Then bead blast the paint off the outside of em if the customer requests it? Bore em out too? I can imagine the time spent in fixing up a set of jugs outweighs the amount of money. And what is the turnaround time on a cub monoblock? Lol.
  13. Is this thing sold yet? If not, what part of Louisana are you located?
  14. Actually I wouldnt know if a port job is worth it or not, but a lot of folks say that it is so its just gotta be. Now the deeevorce, on the other hand I wont say shit about that, but they are worth it. Anyone know what happend to the head bangin' smiliy face? Im waitin' on Jeff to perform his porting magic. Any of ya'll heard from Jeff, lately? While back he told me he had a crap load of jugs waiting on port jobs.
  15. Why is porting so expensive? The same answer applies to the question, why is a divorce so expensive? Because its worth it! :thumb:
  16. WHen I had my fattys, I had 340 mains, needles @ middle clip, 27.5 pilots air screws 1.5 turns out. This was with K&N clamp on filter with no lid and V-force 3 reed cages @ 200ft above sea level. It ran its nuts off too. :thumb: What FMF reccomends is bullshit. I think FMF stands for fuckin' motherfuckers. :baseball_getlost: Pardon my english, guys.
  17. Stock is 14 up front, 41 out back. Welcome to the BHQ. You are on the right track with a port job and bigger carbs. :thumb:  Edit: I'd prolly wait till fall or so to send your jugs in. Or get a spare set to send in to get your port job. From my experience, you will be waiting on your port job for a little and will deffinately cut out your riding time. But the wait should be worth it.
  18. Didnt you post a lot of pics of weed and stuff, a while back? And didnt you post some pics of you falling off your bike in one of those GNCC races?
  19. Have you pulled your spark plugs to know whether or not you are getting spark? If you have fuel, which sounds like you do, and compression, spark is the only thing left to make it not run.
  20. Ahite den. I got me a handfull of them hinson cushions. Lol. Thanks Bigred. Sorry for jackin' your thread all up, Crank123. :baseball_w00t:
  21. I am in the process of changing over to a billet basket. First thing you have to do is remove the (4) rivets that attach the stock basket to your ring gear. I used a drill press, center punched the rivets, broke the mushroomed heads off and knocked the rest out. I havent recieved my new basket yet, but looks like the new basket should bolt up like the stocker. I'm unsure as to whether to use the old cushions though, that is if your new basket doesnt have replacement cushions. Surely someone has experience here. There are (2) sizes of cushions that came out of my stock basket and I am unsure as to which order to put them back in. I can take pics if anyone wants me to so we might could make a sticky or sumthing for the noobs. lol
  22. Lol, I hadnt got the balls to ride in the rain or ride after drinkin. I've got 800 on mine. The last 100 with the new pipes have been the best. I'd reccomend some vance & hines cruizers. Damn, they sound good. You outta be good with just an oil and filter change. Thats what I did after the recommended 600 miles. Thats a cool box, Lee. My pc, I've got all my shit stuffed in one of those acrylic, uv cases with some blue cold cathode neon tubes in it. Looks pretty sweet.
  23. Brooke, how many times have you been banned and un-banned now?
  24. I'll go ahead and be the one to get the shit started, this time. The real mother of all questions is, "Why are we here?" We are here to do god's will. Seriously. :baseball_original: As long as the aftermarket parts keep comming, I think the banshee will always have a future. As for what replaced the banshee, it's gotta be the new 450.
