  1. I have a very similar set up as you have. I am able to launch in 2nd with 22-11-10 9 paddles extremes. It bogs down a little and I prefer to launch in first to get the rpms up and shift right in to second before I find myself on my ass...
  2. i emailed the seller last night asking to see the supercharger etc. and she said that it is not supercharged and she is listing it for her fiancee. She still said it's faster than a stock banshee...She's getting ebay to remove the supercharged part of the listing.
  3. yeah I do alot of general duning and drag race up the hill... I like the fact I can do both and not be limited to which i do..One day i will have a dedicated hillshooter
  4. Don't want to jack this post but I have a dumb question...I'm running 175 psi on my shee right now and it's at +4..what will the difference be noticed in the motor if I raised it to +7, +8?? I'm at 200 ft above sea level.
  5. but I don't see the supercharger?? Maybe it's small and I just can't see it. From what i can tell in the pics it looks like the ORS is still connected, but I could be wrong.
  6. Well post up some pics of the rims you like and we'll help you out. Also if you tell us what type of riding you plan on doing etc. will help us help you....Also look at douglas wheels...they make some pretty good rims..

  10. yes they can affect compression readings if they are not in or are bad allowing air to bypass back thrpugh the reed.

If you did the compression check right afte the build without breaking in the motor that could be why the compression only ready 160. after the break in the compression could have gone up but i can't see how it went up that much... I'd check your reeds and do another compression test with the carbs and throttle wide open..make sure the motor does not start(Imake sure both spark plugs are out) and make sure that you keep kickng until the needle no longer moves.
  12. yeah i'd say to bump the timing to +4, down size on the carbs if you can...and go from there..
  13. I got a couple more....one from yesterday.... The other day i was chaning the oil in my truck and had to use an empty 5 qt oil contair to drain the oil into from tmy truck..I got everything emptied out and filter changed and got a phone call. I asked the wife to take the containerby the truck and put the oil in the motor so we could go do our running aroundn we had to do...she came back in a couple minutes later and said that the oil looked awfully dark for being new oil...I walked out and noticed that the new 5qt contair still sitting where had placed it...both contaiers were by the truck and the container with the old oil was the one closer to teh truck.. i hadn't specified which container was the new oil....thank god she didn't start the motor...I just draied it all back out and put the new stuff in... Riding oh shit.......Was at sand mountain, Nv and the weather had changed from hot to cold during the week. I had to rejet for the weather change and was doing test runs to see which jets i needed to run for the day....On the final test run Ijust took off down the same path I had taken the previous 2 times and knew that i had got the right size jets in. I shifted into 3rd and had it pinned about to go into 4th when i figured it was time to turn around and get the other people that were with me....Just as I made that decision i woke up on my side in the sand...Whe i realized I must have crashed my 2 buddies were already there next to me. The said that I had hit a 3ft dune, flew in the air about 10 feet(me and the banshee). from where i left the ground to where i landed was an estimated 60 feet...the steering stem loop was bent, by front bumper trashed, and handlebars bent slightly...I broke my visor on my Carey Hart limited edition Fox Helmet, broke my collar bone, 3 right ribs and collapsed my right lung...This was on my 421 cheetah powervalve banshee....I guestimate that i was doing roughly 60-70mph when I hit the dune...i don't remember a damn thing but they all saw me leave the ground, banshee did 3 flips and i did some funky stuff...they said by the looks of my body i was unconsciuous when i was in the air.

Welco the HQ....yes these bikes are reliable if properly maintained...For an all sotck bike that's not too bad...to really wakw the bike up the first thing I'd do is buy an exhaust...toomeys, Pro Circuits, are about the best there are other brands out there for diffferent applications of riding...The main thing you have to ask yourself is what kind of riding will you be doing and then we will be able to help in the right direction and let you know what's out there....the other thing I'd do is get rid of th T.O.R.S.(Throttle Over Ride System) Do a search on that and you will have all the answers you need. The TORS is the root of alot of the little issues with the banshee. Any question you have can be answered here... In fact any question you have has probably already been answered...Just use the search function and you will be amazed ay what you find.

Remembered a couple more.... swapping from dirt tires to sand tires and got a phone call...came back to the job and installed last tire....got to where I was going and realized I had 1 knobby and 1 paddle on the rear...but 2 sand tires on teh front...thank god I put all the tires with me...don't ask why I never caught the 1 paddle tire in the truck.... Swapping out brake pads on CR250 and got everything back together and couldn't figure out why the brake pads looked brand new and so clean for being old....yep removed and installed old brake pads.... Pulling reeds off CR250 and installing new ones and drop one of the bolts into the cylinder and drops below the piston into the case.... Thank god I had a long flexible maget....Now I make sure the piston is blocking the hole when working in that area. Or while removing a seized swingarm bolt take an extension and use it as a drift punch and hit it with a deadblow hammer with wife on the other size pulling at the same time and the bolt becomes unseized and nails wife in forehead...leaving a perfectly round dot right in the middle of her forehead...I laughed so hard...after I made sure she was ok...
  18. I was changing the oil on my roomies 660 as he went and got something to drink. I put the oil in and went to get a rag and turned around and all the oil I had put in was now on the floor in the garage and spreading....yup it was the last bottle we had until the shop opened up...and we were heading out to the track...We fixed the issue with some beer and we were happy....

Ok I'm in the hunt for some front sand tires and rims for my '99 shee...I;m looking for 21-8-10 0r 22-8-10 ITP sand stars or some dune trackers...Not too picky on the rim but it has to be in good shape....no dents or dings and can hold air black or polished/chorme....I've found a few on ebay but they want my left nut for shipping or just want way too much...Please send pics....reply with pics will be looked at first... Now the question....Do the trailtech lights come prewired with the stock connectors or do I need to put those on?? I do have paypal...
  20. Hmmm. need more info like..have you done anything to the motor? was it running fine and then all of a sudden it started doing this??? have you tried to clean out the jets and carbs to make sure you didn't some dirty gas....

There's no timing with the 2 strokes...just put together and kick and it should run....When you bored the motor did you rejet for the bigger bore and more air coming into the motor after you cut the airbox...running hot sounds like the jetting is off...The pop you heard could have been a back fire from a dirty carb..mine did that and it scared the shit out of me since I had my hand back by the pipe feeling the presure coming out of the exhaust...I'd check the jetting and go from there....I think the head gasket should be ok..
