IN the float bowl(bottom piece of float bowl) the piece that actually comes apart from the carb. In the front part of it there are 2 holes. In one hole I looked in it and saw a jet screwed in there, it was a size 1.4. I took the right card apart and found nothing in the same hole.

While cleaning out my left carb I found a jet in my float bowl, There isn't one in my right float bowl....any ideas?? It was screwed in and wasn't just lying in there....

Ok people I have a weird problem here and hopefully you can help. Went to load the banshee up to go to the track for the first time and as a ritual I take a quick ride down the street to see if any thing is wrong. Well on my way back to the house the left cyclinder/carb cut out when I applied the throttle. When I came off the throttle I can hear the left carb/cylinder come alive. I gave it a little gas and it happened again. When the left side cuts the exaust pipe sounds hollow compared to the right side and it sounds really odd. I have already tried swapping the plug caps around and that doesn't do anything. I have run out fo ideas and not sure if it's electrical or something else. When I first left the house both sides were firing but when I turned around is when it happened. There is also a little backfiring when the the left decides to work properly. Elev: 400 ft above sea level Outside temp: 100 degrees Main: 340 Clip Pos.: 5th from top Air screw adj: 1.5 turns from seated (tried 2 turns as well with no change) K&N filter pods with no airbox(filters are clean) Pro circuit platinum series pipes Bored to 2nd oversize from stock bore with wiseco pro lite pistons

What was the shee running like before the problem showed itself?? Is it backfiring? Seems like it's bogging in lower RPM's and then all of the sudden the left side seem to start firing and then the RPMS skyrise and the shee comes to life?? I just had this problem a couple days ago and come to find out the jetting setting were all screwed, I think due to the seasonal temp change

After changing the needle position it's a whole new bike. I took it for a short full throttle ride through all the gears and It's got some balls, and pretty big ones at that. I thought my CR250 was fast but it just doesn't compare. Thanks everyone for helping me out with everything.

Thanks. Yeah I was tempted a few times today to take it to the shop and have them fix it now I'm glad I didn't. I'll know 100% if I fixed it tomorrow whe nI take it on a short full throttle, high speed run. I didn't want to do it at night and have a chance of hitting someone or someone hitting me.

I feel like such a retard. I was out side staring at the banshee when I hear this distinct sound of a banshee. I walk out of my garage and see this blue banshee come flying down my street. The rider looks over and see my banshee all lit up with the halogen lights on it since it's dark outisde. He rolls over and asks when I'm doing and I give hima run down. He takes it for a ride as I ride his. We get back to my garage and he saids it's running slightly lean. I change the clip postion one more time to the 5th from top. Took for a ride at 9pm and from what I can tell the problem went away. I can't believe I overlooked this. I messed with the clip position earlier when I realized it was running lean. I will say his banshee isn't as strong as mine and he even admitted to it. BUt once again I overlooked the simplest of all things. I feel like such a dork.

You have a coil?? -
Yeah I think the same thing....Looking for a coil but can't find any online....KNow fo any websites here I can get one.
-
I doubt it's an air leak since it moved to both sides after I swapped the spark plug wires....

oK people now that I have the enf=gine break in almost done I have found a new problem at higher speeds. It seems like when I'm in 3rd, 4th gear my left cylinder seems to cut put and when I romp on it it fires fine and I have to hold on for dear life so I won't get left behind. I switch plug wires from one side to the the other and it seemed to not be as bad. It almost felt like they both cut a little...and it also seemed like the problem changd sides. Any help is really needed so I can finish the engine break in process.

TORS( Throttle Over Ride System) Just like everyone said It definatly sounds like the TORS. The TORS is the the two things that are attached to the top of the carbs and have a nickel size diameter screw on them. That whole entire housing is considered the TORS. The TORS can be real finnicky. The black box under the tank on the left side of the frame is part of the TORS system. IF I was was you I would disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the TORS housings on the carbs(they will be under the tank as well) Cut the electrical wires from the throttle housing. Once that is done the problem should go away. TORS is a bitch and can cause a lot of problems, nothing major but a real pain to deal with. that's why most people get rid of it.

Ok Now that I have the top end rebuilt and tried to go on it's first ride I have problems..... When in gear and when I start to release the clutch it wants to bog and die on me. When I got it moving started surging in first gear. In second gear it didn't seem to do it as bad but it started to back fire. NOt sure what it can be. Possible that it can be the CDI or coil?? Wisco Pro lite pistons 340 mains Clip pos: ???? Air screws: 2 full turns from seated

I finally got everything put back together rechecked everything(about 10 times) and rechecked everything one more time before I put on the gas tank. Got the tank on and rechecked everything one more final time. Put gas in the tank and moved the kickstarter acouple times to make sure the rings were not going to cathch the exaust port, or anything else. turned the key flipped the kill switch and the shee started on the second kick. It sounds better, I think, and the air coming out the exaust seems to be a little more forceful. JUst doing the breaking in of the new pistons and rings. I would like to thank everyone who replied to all my posts and helped in anyway. All posts never went ignored and all suggestions made by any one was written down and taken out to the shee to see if it was the problem. All You guys and gals were a tremendous help in helping me get the thing running and tracing down the problem. YOu people helped me learn the workings and trouble shooting of a 2-stroke engine against my will, but I wanted to get that thing out on the track and ride it so I had no choice. All it's had as far as rides are test rides to see if the problem was fixd after I did something to it. I hope I can help any of you out when you need help. Once again I want to thank everyone here who helped me out. Yes Mudcool I will thank you too because your dumb, stupid, and complete assanine, and off the wall posts made me laugh when I got frustrated, and please don't reply to this.......

Anyone have any ideas about the head gasket??
-
-
Ok so I finally got time to start the installation of my top end. I ended up buying Wiseco pro lite pistons. NOw that I have everything together do I need to put some sealant on the gasket mating surfaces for the base gaskets and head gaskets?? If so what kind? I know 2-strokes are picky but I'm not sure just how picky they are. I know if I was putting a engine together on a vehicle I wouldn't second guess, I'd do it. Just thought I'd ask before I got it all together and it started leaking everywhere, better safe than sorry.

the graphics are peeling on the tank shrouds along the entire edge

I forgot to mention that if the camera has a LANC connection option it will say LANC right above or next to the connction
-
Where can you get what???? if you are talking about the Lanc connection..it should come with viosport camera if you go the kit witht eh mic, battery, and all the connectors. If not then you can go to the website and purchase it. The camera I have is a Sony MiniDV handycam camcorder DCRTRV 22 I believe. I'll try to get video with it tomorrow. Most mid to high end camcorders now a days have the LANC connection
