  1. lol... It would be cool to meet some of the HQ gang but the wife and I are into asphalt and not including our home track we racked up 2580 miles in trips to various race tracks this year with another 250 mile trip planned in the next few weeks.
  2. I think the rightful place for it to fly is at the HQ ride each year.
  3. $65.00 shipped in the lower 48 only http://http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w258/Drag_Banshee/Michigan/100_7848_zps19a1680e.jpg
  4. Brand new HD 19 tooth I'd take $22.00 shipped to the lower 48 only
  5. Yup, I think imbill nailed it. Not real common but I've seen high pressure hoses cause that exact problem in the automotive field.
  6. Yep, Most often from clutch chatter. Steels and fibers can both be broken. We've see it on our asphalt bikes.
  7. Brand new HD 19 tooth in the package. I'll take $22.00 (gifted) shipped priority in the lower 48
  8. We drag race and have track tested a number of different reeds over the years. In a full drag port 358, 392, 421 cub and a ported 4mil Serval V-2's always ET'd fastest on the asphalt but the 4's that we tried on the 4mil Serval was definitely the way to go in all but WOT applications. I love the 2's and have at least 6 sets plus a number of packages of new petals but IMO you should go with the V-4's. They'll be a nice upgrade now and will work really great later in the Serval.
  9. For a stock cylinder 4mil I think that's very respectable. Especially since it sounds like you're just getting started on asphalt. A 500' track is certainly better than no track at all... Lots of guy's here run 300' dirt so what the hell - You do what's available to ya' and it's better than taking it to the street IMO. We run 1/4 mile because that's what's in our backyard.
  10. That's a lot of gear for a 4mil. I've got a brand new HD 19 tooth I'd take $22.00 shipped priority in the lower 48.
  11. We tried quite a few different types and brands in our asphalt bikes with launch limiters and multi-stage clutches and found that Jeff's (FAST RACING) clutch holds up great to the abuse.
  12. I use Wilburn ignitions and know nothing about the stuff your looking for but I know someone who has a brand new coil and set of wires so I contacted him for you. He told me it was 3ohm coil and that it would burn out a stock ignition and could only be used with a Dyna CDI box???
  13. Are you running a Dyna?
  14. I run aluminum flywheels torqued to 40ft lbs max or they'll wedge on way to tight. On re-assembly I use two small drops of blue locktite. Glad you found that it wasn't a blown motor since most guy's new to alcohol will at the very least take out a piston during the "learning curve".
  15. Nope, 4mil crank will swing just fine in factory cases.
  16. Agree, LOTS of thought, time and effort in that puppy. Well done!
  17. It doesn't take a big motor to break one. The one we "learned" on was a little 358 cub. Since going to billet back in 2006 we've never once had another break.
  18. We had that issue with our asphalt bike. Second gear is one of the weak links in a Banshee tranny. A billet second gear will stop the breakage problem.
  19. I didn't have any problem with the Air-Strikers on our first asphalt bike but I never heard of them in a 39mm.
  20. He doesn't know we're going and as of today he's got some changes about to happen that I should let him tell you about. His bike's still in pieces. That's the weekend before our Michigan trip.
  21. Friday August 22 Test & Tune - Saturday and Sunday the 23rd and 24th is the Geezer show
  22. Should look me up at the Geezer event in August. The wife and I will both be running our Banshees.
  23. Might consider asphalt since you have Mid America Motorplex in your backyard trx510r. Link: http://www.midamericamotorplex.com/2006/rt_default.asp Once a year we drive 850 miles one way from Ohio to race there.
  24. We bracket race asphalt and have the benefit of seeing performance changes from our ET slips. Because of home delivery convenience we've run more VP than anything but have used others though the years. Most methanol is just plain old 99.95% pure methanol alcohol and because of that we've not seen any one that's faster than another. I say go with whatever is easiest to get in your area and has the best price. If you stick with a reputable brand like VP, Torco, Renegade etc you'll be OK. What I've found is that a sealed pail or drum from any of the brand names will likely be fresh and 100% uncontaminated. Only twice have I ever got lousy fuel. Once from Ashland Oil that many of the local dirt track racers use (just didn't run well). Donated over a half a drum to our home track to use as "wash" alcohol. And once from a Sunoco distributor who filled from bulk that had a bunch of particles in the bottom of my can. FYI - VP steel drums are lined and if kept sealed and off the floor your fuel will last a LONG time.
  25. My favorite is: Ricks Tinker Shop Rick Carrol Cut to length For asphalt: RK MXZ none O-ring is the only way to go IMO On my wifes small drag ported asphalt bike we've had no issues with the EK chain sold by FAST (HQ Sponcor).
