  1. Ya thinking module
  2. ^ cuz you gots what sum folks be missin.
  3. Total go through regardless. Call FAST for any of the misc bottom end goodies you will be needing. The race logic templates are very basic and by today's standards, almost primitive. If you want it to be worth your while, get some burrs that will get you in to the transfers as well. Will it be the best port on the market? No, but it sounds like it'll be plenty for what you're doing. If you are confident enough to do some grinding on your cylinders I think you may wanna research some trans mods as well. I would definitely at least get every other dog done, polish the shafts up, mod the star, shift shaft, detent arm, maybe do a drum bearing, new trans bearings(fast has a neat kit from HotRods) Also, remember to port for the stroke. If your current kit is for stock crank and you do a 4mm, it'll be different. At least it should.
  4. What head and gasket are you using to keep 180 psi and 12 degrees sealed up on a 69mm stock cyl? I've done a few big bore combos in the past and finally got tired of it eating water and moved on. I tried copper coated VITOS, TDR copper gasket, TDR reinforced, girdle heads, etc. It was a shit show.
  5. I would say for your riding and what not, the sling shot would be the hot ticket. To guys saying save your money and bla bla bla, have any of you looked at laeger's bike? It's kind o one of those no expense spared kind of builds. His chassis alone costs more then most bikes here. I'd honestly say 70 hp is plenty enough to manipulate a lock up. People seem to think that the lock ups are just for drag bikes. But if you really look around, there are quite a few fellas using them to make bikes much more ridable. Yeah you could simply put a fresh HD springs in with a nice cable and lever, but if you really do ride all day really hard, it leaves a lot to be desired. That's where the lock up comes in. Super light springs let you have extremely minimal pull which is nice for reducing fatigue. The sling shot in your application gives you the same effect as a weighted flywheel which is sweet in trails. Keeps the momentum/inertia of the motor on tap which means you don't need to slip the clutch as much to get through the corners. Then if you get really in to it and start messing with different weights/materials, you can make the clutch come on how you desire. The baseline tune in the instructions is plenty fine for most trail guys, but it can be better if you like to mess with it. Get the trans cut and run the lock up. Couple that with the rest of the known shift mods and it'll be a drastic comparison. You will always hear guys stand up and say "I run a stock trans in my bla bla cub"..... Well, fuck that nonsense. There is better. If you look enough you will see some of those same guys have changed their mind and now run cut trannys. I wonder why they didn't put the stock trans back in?
  6. ^ most relavant answer. I was need the assumption that they had a new outlaw that was 450 based. At least that's what I've heard as well. I think laegers has followed suit. But if you can get the frame it self for about 3k that's not so bad. Of course then there is all the 450 parts to buy, but this shit ain't cheap and if people got complaints, they are in the wrong hobby.
  7. Get it decibel checked as well. It sucks getting sent home due to loud pipes without a spark arrester.
  8. Mattoon or chariot
  9. What pipes and carbs? Assuming shearers and 35's?
  10. ^ this fuckin' guy...
  11. Get the trans cut, run a lock up.
  12. Nitrous express. Done.
  13. If you don't have dowels on your bearings, you can put a dab of LOCTITE on them to keep the outer race from trying to spin.
  14. Stepping it up eh.....
  15. Tear down. Cases and all. It ate coolant. That's no bueno.
  16. ^ rut roh, lalalalallalalalalalalalalala.
  17. Lotta guys havin to deal with the fucked up paperwork. The easiest way to "stay legal" is to keep your stuff numbered. They aren't stolen or shady. Hell, replacement frames from yamaha don't have any paperwork or a vin. So technically they wouldn't be legal in some states.
  18. Buy a good frame, weld in the stickered part with the VIN. Komisar motor sports sells nice straight frames with out the vin tube from all his non title sales.
  19. No doubt the newer piston may fair better. My problem with what's going on is that someone takes something they haven't tested, makes an astronomical claim, then tells people that they can simply swap these pistons and turn new domes and have said astronomical increase.
  20. Yeah I guess. He's never been shady, just slow as fuck to turn around.
  21. Bitchin! NYC is alright. Even if he does E molest rednecks in the next county over from me.
  22. Since you are opening it up, you might as well send your trans out for some work if you are covering all the bases. Also, being a 4 mil it's probably about due for a better shifting trans anyway.
  23. Cam, Driveline is responsible for a lot of knowledge put out there that they will never get the recognition for. Sometimes I can't tell if lane wants it that way or not.
