  1. The EFI won't net much of a gain in peak power over a properly sized carb set up on a good tune. Overall throttle response will be crisper, and torque may be a touch better. The benefits will be the ease adjustability when the set up is changed, and the lack of a need to make changes for weather and elevation.
  2. Hanging idle could be an air leak.
  3. There you have it.
  4. Yamaha made a white tank shroud, but not a white radiator shroud. The machines were outfitted with White tank shrouds and had a Grey rad shroud.
  5. Mull has the machine work down. Great parts!
  6. Just stopped by to tell you, Fuck you, and your logic!
  7. I hope you're good with sheet metal
  8. Quality sealer. Master formula FTW
  9. Those are normal problems to me though.
  10. No trade in value. They will simply use whatever good stuff you have and chuck the rest in a scrap bin. No, they won't pay you for that either.
  11. BigRed's bottom end walk through is pretty decent.
  12. The part that goes in the clutch cover will get funky and either not wanna come apart, or corrode and cause sealing issues. What's done is done, just keep an eye on it.
  13. Consider aftermarket top end and crank. It would be a good way to buy most of what you need in an already thought out kit. There are endless options, but I'd recommend looking at the Serval stuff from CP Industries since you are needing new cyls. Lots of site sponsors are vendors. Guys like Jeff at FAST can get you the top end and crank, as well as fresh replacements for all the little clips and hardware for the clutch side.
  14. Am I overthinking the benefits of how much more simple it is to design a dome with a stellar squish band on a flat top vs standard crowned pistons?
  15. BansheeHP is the man to talk to about the new Weisco pistons. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?/topic/181519-new-pistons-from-driveline/#entry1710240
  16. That thing was lean, then you leaned it out even more... Case oil was douched up and you just flushed it? (How do you flush cases?) You said you bought the proper parts, and then mention your used crank. Add your clutch issues and the fact that those cylinders are at max bore. Man, there's a lot going on there. Its safe to say that this thing is due for a Full rebuild by a competent builder. You need new cylinders as well since yours are at the end of their life. That thing needs to be new everything down to the bearings, seals, and probably everything under the clutch cover. What is your budget? I'd say that if you can't come up with enough to pay a builder to do it all, then start looking at the possibility of buying a complete used running motor from someone reputable.
  17. Make sure it's got a bit more fuel for that filter. Also what are the temps like there? And what did the plugs look like? Same on both sides? 27.5 pilot Needle 1 clip richer 220 main at least. They should run ok down to about 100 psi in each cyl, so I'd say there is life left in it for sure.
  18. Buy a new heater pipe and don't put anything on it.
  19. Not bashing, but this is only partially true. In my opinion, that is a skewed review. Most people I know that have bought and ran/still run OKO's, in my opinion are just average rider/mechanical ability and think highly of OKO's because they don't know better. I'm not a full time shop, but I help a lot of fellas out with these things and not once have I fiddled with a bike some one had OKO's on and called it a positive experience. Keihin and Mikuni are way ahead when it comes to manufacturing. Just like when some new kid gets his first banshee and it "RIPS". Then someone competent messes with it and it's a new animal.... Those are the only type of folks I know that have positive things to say about OKO's. Just my personal experience. (Not flaming gusto)
  20. Redline Water Wetter is approved. I believe they have added the BE Cool Coolant recently as well. (Don't quote me on that though)
  21. Blaster shocks were my favorite budget shock. The 300ex shocks bolt on and are even lower.
  22. Do a 27.5 pilot and 220ish main.
